Does a Pinched Siatic Nerve mean you have a slipped Disc in your back?
A week ago something happened to me with my back and ever since then, my right leg hurts. But, my lower back hurts in one spot. Does that mean my Siatic Nerve is pinched and I may have a slipped disc in my back? I was told that a siatic nerve means you have a slipped disc?
Please help on this.
It hurt like H*ll when my back went out on my last saturday. I could not sit or stand.
I do have arthritis and a some narrowing between two bones in my lower back region.

A herniated ("slipped", "ruptured") disc can cause sciatic pain.
Sciatic pain can also be caused by a number of other conditions, but since your discomfort started when you hurt your back, your back injury is probably the cause.
This is a good article on herniated discs http://www.webmd.com/back-pain/tc/herniated-disc-topic-overview.
Several years ago I herniated a disc in my lumbar (lower back) area. After having the injury confirmed via x-ray (my insurer would not pay for an MRI), I began exercises for this type of injury.
The following exercises can help herniated-disc pain and sciatic pain:

My recommendation is that you see a physician to confirm that you have a herniated disc. Exercises and Physical Therapy may sound like overkill for an injury like this, but I have exercised my way through several disc injuries. If a disc is losing its protective fluid due to injury, exercise can actually help the disc refill with fluid.
See a physician before you try anything, whether it’s suggested by me or by other posters! Minor back injuries can turn into major ones from simple neglect.
hey, shortstuff!
i’m not expert, but i just got over a bout with sciatica.
[also, note the spelling - SCIATIC... with a 'c'].
it does hurt like h*ll - with me it felt like someone took a baseball bat and slammed it across my right buttock. it was an intense ache.
in your case, it sounds like you might have done something, perhaps you did pinch a nerve. my suggestion: go see your doctor. you’ll probably need xrays taken, to determine if you did, but it will be worth the time and effort.
good luck. hope this helped.
