You are only eligible if you lost your job through no fault of your own. In your case, the reason you lost your job was your fault.
You can still apply, but the state will ask your employer how/why you lost your job, and then your claim will be denied.
You should at least try, people that don’t show up to work that get fired can collect, why not you?
Simply put, no. Unemployment is meant for people who lose their job through no fault of their own (i.e. a lay off) and not from quitting, or being fired.
You can always try and claim through your state, and it will go through the typical process. They will initially deny you due to a "non-valid claim" for up to 6 weeks. After the 6 weeks are up, you can go through an appeals process if you choose to do so. This will give you a chance to explain yourself, and make a case for why you deserve unemployment benefits.
Your best bet is to call your local unemployment office and speak to a representative.
No. Unemployment is for those who are INVOLUNTARILY unemployed. You CHOSE to drink and drive, which is a voluntary act, and you were fired for cause. You are not eligible for unemployment when you are fired for cause.
Make better choices next time, OK?
you could try but probably get denied
