Hand and finger numbness or tingling can be due to nerve root compression in the cervical (neck) spine, yet, nerve root compression depends on which cervical nerve root is compressed and which side of the cervical spine has nerve root compression. If your whole hand goes numb, it may be a circulatory issue. None of the nerve roots from your cervical spine (neck) affect your legs unless your spinal chord is severely compromised. Lower back, hip, leg and foot numbness generally comes from the lumbar (lower) spine. See your doctor and have an MRI of your cervical (neck) and lumbar (lower) spine. Feel better, go see your doctor.
yes, see link below. my husband had one last year.
I know a guy in his 60s with the same symptoms. He had neck surgery for neck pain — degraded disk. The pain never went away, he still has it. He had hand and finger numbness caused by compression of a nerve in his elbow. His doctors have never found out what causes his leg cramps. Sometimes his legs twitch and jump when he’s asleep.
Can be lack of vitamins or nutrients.
A pinched nerve can cause this, but so can the lack of water over time. Your bones can actually dry out over time. This is where a lot of joint pain comes from. You should be drinking the following amount of water each day:
Take your total weight and divide by 2. That number is the amount of ounces of water you should be drinking everyday. Get rid of any fluoridated water, fluoridated toothpaste, and put a filter on your shower. Fluorine will deplete your body of iodine.
The lack of magnesium will cause this problem as well. You need to get some magnesium glycinate and take it everyday for about a month.
If you can find an inversion table, use it. Hang for about 20 seconds 10 times per day. This will loosen your spine and tell you if you have a pinched nerve. If you find that you do, go to a chiropractor and get adjusted.
good luck to you
The hand and finger numbness( or tingling) are a sign of a pinched nerve.
Cramps in your leg are not related to your neck.
Right now I am going through the whole pinched nerve in neck treatment. I went for an MRI (which showed a total degeneration and loss of fluid in my disc, pressing on my nerves). They then did an EMG which showed muscle damage.
The pinched nerve was causing numbness, tingling, dropping items all the time. I ignored it, thinking it would get better. I went through the whole PT process with traction. I’ve just finished my 3rd Epidural nerve block in my neck. The numbness is gone!
I urge you to at least get this problem checked out by an Orthopedist…to get the appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
The treatment I got worked. I can now type, write and do fine motor skills without worry that my fingers will go numb.
Why suffer?
Go take an X-ray.
