Seek the advice of a qualified attorney who does DUI cases as a main stay, they can advise you what can be done.
If you try this yourself, you are setting yourself up to fail, you are in an area that only an attorney who practices in that area knows.
Like flying a helicopter without a lesson.
You definitely need a lawyer. Don’t plead guilty. Let a lawyer handle it.
You WILL lose your license on your first court visit. Make arrangements for driving. Open up your wallet and make time for court and community service to come.
the first thing that you should do is get yourself legal representation right now. your only shot of beating this is w/ a lawyer. if you show up by yourself you can bet that you will be convicted. you can also bet that you will be losing your license for a significant period of time (how much depends on connecticut laws). all of this along with significant fines and insurance surcharges that you will be facing. lawyers aren’t cheap but it’s not like you’re facing a 2 pt. speeding ticket. this is very serious.
First of all Connecticut works like this. You will have two different court processes. One is the regular court, the date you have on the summons. There you could get fined for the accident. The second is per se (DMV court). In per se is where you will fight to have your license not suspended. Since you blew into the intoxylizer and were read your rights about losing your license. You should know the least amount of time your license would be suspended would be 90 days. Since this never happened before im guessing thats all it would be.
I would recommended a lawyer because they would be able to find any flaws in the process the officer took to arresting you/writing the report. DUI reports have to be very specific, if one thing is messed up the whole arrest is bad and therefore you get off, and hopefully learn your lesson.
I hope this helps
