My friend’s spinal chord has broken between C-4 & C-5 in an accident. He is suffering from complete paralysis since last year. This is very terrible situation for him and his family. Is there any treatment about this case. Please suggest doctor, therapy or any other possible process. Money is not matter.

I have a sharp pain between my shoulder and back. Sometimes the pain is very intense. I believe this to be a pinched nerve. If I don’t get this treated will it get worse & how do you treat it?

I fell head first on ice the other day and at first, just the back of my head hurt and I had some chest pains. The next day, my head felt fine but it hurts to move my neck and arms and my back also hurt. Now I can’t do anything without my neck or back hurting and when I move my arms dramatically, the spot near my heart hurts. My parents don’t want to bring me to the doctor. What the heck is wrong with me & how can I relieve the pain?

I have a bulging disk between my L4 & L5 and my doctor told me the only way to help would be bed rest and anti-inflammatory medications. I am a dancer and take a Hip Hop class once a week for about 2 hours. I want to continue dancing even though my doctor does not want me to. Is there any activities similar to dance that I can do that won’t bother my disk? I’m always active and I need something to do.

I have a brother who suffered a traumatic brain injury 4 mos ago. He is on a vent, is partially conscience & opens his eyes, however more recently his hands & feet are curling in and his head is starting to tilt downward. He is very stiff, muscle relaxers are not helping. I want to know what the "curling" condition is called.

Can anyone explain this? I know that their mother wouldn’t have the missing vertebrae hanging around in her womb for 5 years, because that’s impossible, but this seems more than just a coincidence…
(In case you’re curious; my aunt, 5 years older than my mom, with her one missing vertebrae, is short and always has neck & spine problems. My mom, with her extra vertebrae, is tall, and deals with scoliosis…)

Our German Sheppard took a chomp on our ferret. It happened at the end of summer. She is now paraplegic. She does have a little movement in her hind legs & when you stimulate them or run cool water over her legs or back she kicks them like crazy(but she can rarely hold up her back ). We have done water therapy with her every since then. We also walk her using a strap and do crunches for her to try to encourage strength in her back. She also has become incontinent although she still has regular bowel movements. She took two steroid shots after it happened, but we couldn’t tell that it made it better or worse. We don’t have a specialist for ferrets in this area, so if anyone has a reccomendation we would appreciate it. We just don’t want to give up on her even though it has been probably 6 months she is still a very sweet girl. If you can tell us what to do for her or someone who can do something for her we will appreciate it very much. We looked into the wheelchair for ferrets, but it looked like alot more trouble than it was worth. We rigged up a little skateboard for her so she can have a little supervised freedom. Thank you for your help. Have a Happy New Year!

I’m 29. I got hit by a hard fast soccer ball from close distance 7 months ago, I damaged C2 I believe, MRI scan showed bruising. I took steroids at start & wore neck-brace. The numbness/tingling has mostly gone from head/neck/right hand(prob reduced by 80% in first few months), but sometimes my fingers tingle, and neck aches/throbs. I get worried/scared as doctor said he cannot guarantee I will recover 100% and I’ll be feeling this discomfort/pain for the rest of my life.
Any advice/experience/web pages, I’d be very grateful. Thank you.
sorry, should have said the x-ray and MRI scan showed bones/muscles/ligaments were in usual condition, no problem at all. just the spinal cord is badly bruised.

This is my 3rd baby. My first baby was also lying on my sciatic nerve & it started about the same time as this pregnancy. I am 22 weeks today and it hurts so bad. Every time I move or get up to walk the pain shoots straight down my right leg. It especially is hurting in my butt area. It’s been a while since I had my first baby & I can’t remember the best thing to do for this. Any suggestions??

Sorry Evk I didn’t know how to reply to you. Is your bulging disc a herniated disc? Are you seeing a physiotherapist.
I have been seeing 3 different physiotherapist, & today is my last day they cant do anymore for me. It is very severe, plus, I am going to a specialist on 15th of June, but I thought someone out there would let me know is an operation worth it, as I know of two people in my area who died while having an operation & I’d be scared. Thanks.

the front & back of my neck has metal in it, due to bone disorder.
The spinal fusion was done in 09/27/07. I can’t do any thing I use to, like working, playing sports, and activities with my kids. The pain has me down 24/7. Is this normal after surgery?

I’m a Tennis Player & currently suffering from a Medial Cartilage Meniscus Injury. I’m thinking of undergoing surgery for my sports injury. However, I don’t have the money for such a procedure. My parents are unemployed at the moment, don’t have the sufficient amount of funds for the procedure, and I can’t go to work due to my injury. Neither can insurance pay for it as well. Is there anyway I can be given surgery for a sports injury at a reduced price?
