I’ve fallen on my back (where it caused some pain) twice. One time 5 years ago, and another time some months ago. Lately if I sit for too long or at night I have lower back pain. It’s not serious, but it is uncomfortable and annoying. It feels better when I lie down for a while. Is there anything els I can do to get rid of this pain, other than taking aspirin?

rotator cuff injury?

I slightly tore my rotator cuff in an auto accident about 2 years ago. It wasnt bad enough for surgery, and for the most part the pain is gone, but when i do regular simple activities (rake, sweep, etc) the pain will come back. I have also noticed sometimes in the morning when i wake up it is stiff and sore. I dont know what to do!! I cant avoid the activities i am doing and aspirin/pain reliever doesnt help at all. I also have a hottub i soak it in but that doesnt help either. I feel stuck with this annoying injury, but i dont want or need surgery. It isnt sore all the time either..Any suggestions?

I do not have insurance and have chronic back pain. I can’t get prescription medications for my back pain or have the tests the doctor wants because of the prohibitive cost, so I have to take over-the-counter medications for my back pain. I have been taking aspirin and would like to know how many I can safely take in one day.

I had lung surgery 5 years ago. I had a spinal epidural which allowed me to give myself controlled pain medication after the surgery. This was in for a about a week. After a few months I began having severe pain in my back originating at that spot. This happened off and on for a couple of years then stopped. Now it is happening again. The pain is severe in that spot and radiating in my back, my right lower side goes numb (incidently that’s where my lung was removed) . The only relief I can get from this almost unbearable pain is to lay down immediately, put heat on it, take an aspirin and wait for it to pass which takes around 30 minutes. I am just curious if anyone else has ever experienced this. Thanks

I have a pinched nerve in the back of my neck that is causing my left shoulder and arm to hurt. I did therapy for a few weeks but it didn’t help. I have been dealing with the pain for almost 5 months now. I take Tylenol but it doesn’t always work. I can’t take aspirin or Advil because of the ulcer I had four years ago. I just want some answers.

Bulging disc or lack of b12?

I’ve been to the dr and had a MRI on my right knee (which showed nothing) and now lower spine. The problem started with my foot going numb, just the top about 4 inches above my ankle down through my toes. One toe has gone crooked and limp, I cannot walk normal on that foot b/c it slaps down when I apply weight to my heal. I had a shot of b12 which helped with the mobility factor, but the numbness has gotten worse and gone north up the outer side of my leg. I wasn’t having pain in my lower back until about 2-3 weeks ago and since has become very painful just above my butt. No meds seem to help the pain (Tylenol 3, Advil, aspirin, regular Tylenol) and the heating pad offers very little relief. I haven’t seen the doctor yet about my MRI results and can’t get a call back for some reason. Is it possible that I am lacking b12 and a supplement will solve the issue or does it sound more like a bulging disc? Someone who’s been through this, your opinion is appreciated.

how do I fix a pinched nerve at home?

I think I have a pinched nerve in my delta/shoulder muscle, and I really don’t want to go to the doctor. the pain radiates all through my shoulder and I can’t turn my head to the left at all and very little to the right. I’ve tried heat, cold and ibuprofen; nothing is working! >_<
how do i get rid of the pain?
so will the aspirin take care of the right now pain?

This all started about a month ago. I had a horrible pain in my thigh. It’s a throbbing pain that radiates from where my leg and butt meet and again about 5-6 inches above my thigh, on the backside. It is deep within the thigh, nearer to the bone. I wake up in the morning with it throbbing and sore and as the day progresses, it feels better and no pain at all unless I push on those spots. Motrin does nothing, tylenol and aspirin tend to help the best. About 2 weeks ago, I stated getting numbness and tingling all down the back of my leg from the bottom of my butt to my heel. I went in and saw one of the nurses under my doctor. She thought I had a strain in my lower back (which is not hurting at all) and it is putting pressure on my nerve (most likely the sciatic). They took a bunch of xrays on my lumbar region and they didn’t show anything abnormal. I was put on a 7 day steroid and muscle relaxers. On day 4 of my steroid pack, my heel went numb, not the skin, but the tissue underneath (it’s been numb ever since). The muscle relaxers did nothing for me, they barely even made me sleepy. Every time I stand up and even sometimes when laying down if I flex my leg, I get shooting tingling and numbness all the way down my leg from butt to heel. I called the nurse back, now she thinks I have a slipped disc and is ordering an MRI.

Now, my questions is, what is with this pain in my thigh? It’s not getting any better, it was my first symptom and this nurse doesn’t seem to think anything of it. By the time I saw her it was 3 pm and my thigh wasn’t hurting at all. However, every morning I wake up and it’s killing me. Some nights it wakes me up the pain is so bad. I am thinking the problem started with my thigh, so its more likely that this is the cause of my sciatic tingling. I plan on going back in, this time seeing my doctor and not the nurse for a second opinion. Not that I have anything against nursepractitionerss, infact, I prefer them to an OB. I just think there is something wrong with my thigh and want another opinion.

Can a slipped disc cause this much pain in your thigh? I have no back pain whatsoever, so I’m not sure I agree with her. I would compare the pain to a strained muscle, but it’s been over a month, I have been taking it easy (I’m a stay at home mom) and the pain is not getting any better, so I’m thinking its not a strained muscle. Feel free to ask anymore questions, I’ve tried to be as informative as I can. Thanks!
