The reason I ask this is because I deal with progressive claims and some people are suckered into their low rates because they deceptively get customers to waive their rights to PIP (personal injury protection.) They give people an ,000 PIP deductible. That means the ,000 that auto insurance is responsible to pay when you get into an auto accident has to come out of your pocket. So I ask that question to see if anyone else has any horror stories about Flo and her awesome company.

Auto Insurance, Please Help!?

What are good coverage amounts for Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Medical Payments, Uninsured Motorist and Under-insured Motorist for auto insurance? I just want to make sure i have enough coverage for my insurance.

Auto insurance coverage?

Hi,

Which option of these auto coverages can i buy along with the basic liability coverage, the medical expense or personal injury protection? Anyway, i live in Texas.

I ever heard if i am not wrong, we can’t buy the medical expense option if we just buy the basic liability coverage. But anyway, i am not sure about that. And also somehow, i am not sure which one is better to buy the medical expense option or PIP option? So far, my current auto insurance has the PIP coverage for ,000. But, i don’t really know that will be worth it when i need it. Any thoughts?

Any help? Thanks.

My question is about auto insurance…….?

I live in a fault-based, or “tort liability" state. I have all the usual auto insurance, including 00 per person medical payments and 000 bodily injury liability.

If a passenger in my vehicle is injured in an accident that is my fault, and that passenger does not have health/medical insurance, and the hospital bill for that passenger’s injuries exceed ,000,- then I presume that passenger would want to sue me to recover the difference between their actual medical costs and the 00 my insurance paid.

What kind of insurance would cover me if I were sued under these circumstances? Should the bodily injury liability insurance kick-in? My agent says no,– that is for passengers in other cars, not in my car.

But it seems to me I should have some kind of insurance to cover this scenario. I mean after all, if that’s the case, I should never carry a passenger unless I first verify they have adequate medical coverage in case of an accident?
As a follow up to my question- in this case the passenger is a family member, but not a family member that lives in my house. Should that make a difference?

Personal injury suing?

I have a really serious question, today i was just hanging with my close friend, and he wanted to sit on top of my car (sedan trunk area) and drive at like 5mph for fun for 5 sec and suddenly he decided to jump out of the car, but hit his head on the ground for bad landing. It cracked his skull and he is at emergency room in coma,I think he has a serious injury. Is this going to be a serious suing case? and will auto insurance cover for this?

Auto insurance claim question?

I live in CA. If i get rear-ended (I’m not at fault) but i did not carry auto insurance at the time, but the faulting party did have insurance. How does that affect my claims on medical injuries, loss of car use, settlement, etc? basically does it make a difference if i have insurance or not if i am not at fault? I hired a lawyer because ididn’t know how to deal with the situation at the time. Just wondering if the lawyer was honest. Please answer only if you are certain. Thank you for your time.

excerpt…
"When I was young, just got out of college, I had to buy auto insurance. I had a beat-up old car. And I won’t name the name of the insurance company, but there was a company — let’s call it Acme Insurance in Illinois. And I was paying my premiums every month. After about six months I got rear-ended and I called up Acme and said, I’d like to see if I can get my car repaired, and they laughed at me over the phone because really this was set up not to actually provide insurance; what it was set up was to meet the legal requirements. But it really wasn’t serious insurance.
Now, it’s one thing if you’ve got an old beat-up car that you can’t get fixed. It’s another thing if your kid is sick, or you’ve got breast cancer."

That’s because he didn’t buy collision insurance! Of course they aren’t going to pay a claim for an accident if your insurance is liability only.

To explain for all the liberals/progressives who read this: He says he called the ins. co. to get his car repaired when – being the smartest man EVER – he would have known all he had was liability. Liability is not designed to cover you, only the damage you do to the other guy. So the anecdote was totally irrelevant and added nothing to the health discussion. It was a textbook case of a stupid thing to say.
spot: can you see, or hear? he said it himself.
Also, how does this compare to health care? The analogy doesn’t even make sense!
Like comparing apples to space shuttles…
And why would HIS insurance have to pay if he was REAR-ENDED?

The other party failed to yield the right of way entering an intersection. She was issued a citation for the accident and has current auto insurance. My wife suffered first degree burns on her arms and also back and neck pain. Her vehicle looked totaled with the front end completley caved in. Her vehicle is a 2004 Nissan Exterra with 40000 miles and it was almost paid off. We live in TX. My questions are… How much would she recieve to replace her car? Will she get a rental car to drive in the mean time? How long till this gets resolved? Should we expect a settlement for her injuries, lost wages, hospital bills? and should we look into hiring a personal injury lawyer or just let the insurance company handle it? I’d appreciate any insight thank you.

Does any international auto insurance from the USA cover injury, accidents and damage in Europe if you are using a European friend’s car? Is it worth it?

Bodily Injury Question about Insurance!?

If I have a bodily injury coverage on my auto insurance, (100/300) and I am involved in an accident that both drivers (me and the other driver) are found guilty or at fault. Does my insurance cover my medical bills or not?

1. Other car was south bound, lost control and crossed the 101 divider and hit my north bound car.
2. Other driver was killed instantly. He had no insurance and a suspended license. Police report hasn’t been released yet but driver may have been drunk. Insurance was cancelled in March when license was suspended. Does lien holder on car have any liablity? How do I find out if at-fault driver has assets?
3. I was the passenger in a friend’s car. I sustained minor injuries but spent a night in the hospital for testing and observation. Medical bills will be in excess of K between ambulance, ER, doctor bills, CAT scans, etc.
4. Friend’s insurance has k/k uninsured motorist coverage.
5. My auto insurance has 00 PIP and my underinsured policy may cover the additional difference. I’m in TX.
6. I don’t want to get stuck with this bill. Already, the hospital and ambulance company are calling and sending me bills.

Any advice on how to proceed.

Thanks.

not enough in auto insurance to cover claim can i sue the person who cause the accident for the difference

I was in an accident in December. About a week later, though I had no pain initially, I was urged by family to go see a doctor anyway just to make sure. My primary doctor’s office told me that they do not treat auto accidents and they referred me to a clinic. I started experiencing some back discomfort and went to a clinic that only deals with auto accidents, worker’s compensation and sports injuries. Well, I only saw a chiropractor there. Before Christmas, I went there three times, and it seemed to help. The discomfort/pain was a little tough over Christmas, but by the time I got back to town, it was pretty much gone. Then I went back at the beginning of Jan. When I left, I was in discomfort/pain again. I was sent to get an MRI. I go back to this office to view the results, and whoola, there’s a new chiropractor there. I apparently have a herniated disc. I was "adjusted" by him, and on the way home, I started feeling numbness one of my toes. Today, my left leg feels different. They want to see me 3 times a week. My state requires ,000 minimum in no-fault Personal Injury Protection on auto insurance, so I always wonder if they’re trying to milk that too. (There are TONS of commercials propping up that requirement and how much you can "still get paid" even if you’re at fault). I am a young guy who doesn’t really have many health issues (at least before the accident/visit to this office). Should I stop going? If so, if I can’t see my primary doc about this, where do I go?

One year and a half ago I was injured (neck disc injury) in an auto accident. Other person was at fault and cited. I have never, pursued a claim and thought them frivolous and/or exaggerated UNTIL IT HAPPENED TO ME. I was injured without personal medical or PIP on my auto insurance and I had no option but to get a lawyer after a trip to the ER.

Injury didn’t require surgery but lawyer cancelled my 00 steroid shot into my neck, the day of the appointment, to ensure insurance of faulty driver was going to pay it. So I went from Oxycotin for pain to Ibuprofen while they resolve issues.

It’s been over a year since that pain shot was scheduled and canceled. I’m sure it can be a very broad range, but does anyone have a idea what I can expect time wise? This whole thing has been a nightmare and I was just on my way to work one morning.

lost personal injury case and now got to pay?

my auto insurance liability was 100000 and the driver sued me for pain and suffering for 85000 and won. can i transfer all assets to family members and file bk to avoid payments. if wages are garnished can i quit and get under table jobs. how long will this judgment be against me.
