I have a couple questions about a surgery I underwent in 2002, the surgery was performed at a private hospital while I was in the ARMY in FT. Benning, GA. The local ARMY hospital couldn’t care for my problem so they sent me to this hospital off base, I had a Bakers Cyst in my left calf muscle and at the time knew very little about it or how to treat so I put my care in the hands of these doctors, which turned out to be a big mistake. The doctor immediately suggested surgery, so we set a date and what was supposed to be a small operation turned out to be a slab of calf muscle removed, 13 inch scar down the back of my leg along with a 8 day stay in the hospital being mainlined morphine 3 times a day. As a result I was medically discharged from the service and continue to suffer still to this day. Every doctor I have seen since have literally been speechless at the looks of the scar and manner in which this cyst was treated. I even saw the head of orthopedic a couple years ago and he measured my left calf almost 3 inches smaller than the right, I have been given a disability rating by the VA for 10% but have yet to get anything financially for it. The ortho doc said I suffer from severe muscle spasms and the pain in my leg is causing me to shift weight to the right which is effecting my posture, back and right knee. Several doctors have told me that they should have never cut me open, there are several medications that should have been used or tried first and not a single one was. This hospital ruined my career in the military, got me hooked on pain pills, I’m always in pain and can’t do any of the physical things I once did without severe consequences. I’m getting older now and am pissed off beyond belief. I want to be compensated for this, I’m going to be dealing with this pain and physical limitation for life, the shame of my early discharge and the pain medication I was prescribed for months after. What can be done about this? do I have a case? if you think I have a case leave your info in the comments and I will call first thing monday, I have copies of all my med records and want to go all the way with this. Though it will never make up for all I have lost.
Please help me, this has ruined a great deal of my life and left me in pain and restricted from the things I loved in life, I have been depressed as hell and need some satisfaction.
Also at the same time as the cyst removal the did an orthoscopic on my knee for torn meniscus, well x rays after the surgery showed my meniscus is still torn so they di absolutely nothing but screw me up and ruin my career.

I am in agony beyond belief. I cannot sleep. Seems that after nearly five years, my attorney did little to develop my PI case. Did not talk to the four witnesses, did not depose the defendants (owners of the art gallery).
Then, just 6 weeks before trial, he abruptly quit. Case worth 5,000 to 0,000.
5 years ago, at an art gallery a multi-paneled art object — 4 ft by 4 ft — broke from the wall & fell on me. Suffered soft-tissue neck injury. 4 witnesses. 5 doctors.
From the start, my Attorney said, We will have to go to trial. He suddenly quit just weeks before trial. Days before trial, Case so old judge would not grant me trial continuance. I settled for less than ,000. No choice. I plan to go to State Bar, then legal malpractice attorney. I was homeless, on welfare, this after working 6 years as software engineer. Lost everything I worked so hard for. Did get 100% Social Security disability. Needed compensation, though, to get back on feet.
