Do you have an extra vertebrae in your spine>?

I recently went to the E.R. for severe neck pain. They took several x-rays while I was there, in those they found that I have an extra vertebrae, and one vert, that could have split into two. What its doing is pushing the vert. in my neck out to the right, thus the pain. I really haven’t found much out and haven’t seen my regular dr. cz he moved outta state. If any one who reads this has similar information please give me all the details. My mom and brother both have the same pain, the same bulge in our necks which makes me think that it is genentic.

I landed on my tailbone a couple years ago while snowboarding and just last summer had a pain running down my leg, i had a ct done and turned out i had a l5, s1 bulge and its been about 7 months with this pain

I have two bulging disks in my lower back. I had an MRI in October 2005 which determined this. However, after moving twice I am in an extreme amount of pain and think I may have re-injured my back or caused the disks to bulge even further. However my doctor is not convinced I need another MRI. How often should I get a new MRI with this condition?

I have had a bulging disc in the L5 region of my spine for the last 11 months. After getting a MRI done it was shown that I had about a 2.5mm bulge which was pretty bad according to my doctors. I tried PT, took NSAIDS, and did a epidural steroid injection with no positive results. Then I went out and bought this inversion table which I used on a daily basis which alleviated almost all my pain. It has gotten ALOT better since I’ve been using this table. However, after a long day at work or neglecting to go on the inversion table for a couple days the pain always returns. Does anybody know of a more permanent solution to my problem? I do not wish to have a laminectomy and I’ve tried everything else my doctors have suggested.

I am a male 23 years old. Thanks!

I need advice on a bulging disc.?

I haven’t had mri’s to confirm but my chiropractor and 3 er doctors have all said that what I have is a bulging disc. But none of them have really gave me definitive information on it nor does anything from googling help. I’m having to fight with Worker’s comp and now hire an attorney because they are denying the claim. I hurt my knee april 29th and had to walk with a cane/limp etc for nearly a month. It was about the last week that I started experiencing back pain. I thought it was just normal back pain so I went to the chiropractor. She looked at my back and without even touching it told me I have a bulging disc at my 5th lumbar. I realize that sounds odd that she said that without even touching me, but you can literally see it when standing behind me. There’s a bulge that looks about like a golf ball sized oval *estimate* pushing out about 1/2 inch from skin level. There is also what looks like a light black bruise all around the area that’s been there since this started around june 1st. Anyway, my chiropractor and the 3 er doctor’s i’ve seen so far have all said that since I haven’t done anything to physically injure my back the most likely and probable cause is the strain and pressure caused by limping and shifting my weight constantly off my injured knee *the injured knee was the left knee btw* The bulge is on my right side, about an inch, inch and a half above the top of my buttocks and seems to be somehow affecting my right leg because if it twinges even slightly, i have what feels like a large needle shoot down from my right hip to my right ankle and have a loss of sensations in my leg at random times. I’m mainly just looking for some insight. What to do, what can happen, what it all means, why it is effecting my leg like it is, etc. I hate taking pain meds, i’ve always thrown scripts away or told the doctor not to bother writing them because i don’t take them, but I’m in so much pain i’ve broken down and taken ultram and even two 50mg ultrams is not doing more than a tylenol for a migraine. What can I do for the disc and would it be pointless to acquire an attorney to fight worker’s comp? I’m really confused and just need a little insight. Thank you, sorry it was so long.

burning, tingling numbness and loss of movement. the test showed signifigant nerve damage obviously where the fusion is but the dr said it’s indacative of another bulge still pressing where it shouldnt. the originall surgery was to remove all bulges and stabalize to prevent this from happening. is it possible that the dr missed some disc peices or could it happen after surgery for no other reason than just a botched surgery.

bulging disc bulge feeling?

so i have a bulging disc but im not in any pain really just i feel that bulge, ive been doing physical therapy now for 3 months, and i work out everyday, my pt says that bulge feeling will go away after time, but its been about 6 months now since the initial accident that i got it from. Will this bulge shrink at all, or is surgery the only way of getting rid of the bulge feeling?

Cervical Spine Bulging Disc Question?

I have been having severe pain in the right side of my neck for a few months now, and recently I started getting numbness and tingling in my right arm and hand. I have had headaches and lots of weakness. SO, my doctor had me get an MRI. The MRI showed a bulding disc in my cervical spine, but the nurse told me that the disc is bulging on the left side, so my symptoms have no known cause and no treatment. What does this mean? If my symptoms indicate a bulding disc, then is the fact that the pain is on the opposite side of the bisc bulge eliminate the bulging disc as the cause? I am really confused and I was hoping to finally be able to get treatment. HELP! What do I ask my doctor? What is causing my pain?
Thank you for suggesting I get a copy of my MRI for a second opinion. I made an appointment for about 20 minutes from now and I will ask for a copy of the results.

herniated and bulging disc?

i have a bulging disc in my L spine and herniated disc in C spine. I been on no lifting rescrictions for six months and in constant pain. the pain meds seem to help but not completely take the pain away. I’m alway tired even when i wake up in the morning. What is the whole concept behind disc problems. Why can’t i force myself to lift something? the pain is crazy. How long does it take until i can lift again? Is it as simple as getting the disc away from the nerve adn that’s it? Does it ever go back to the way it was before my injury?
"small" herniation in c spine. and small bulge in L spine

My husband had a MRI done which showed this bulge in the c3-c4. He has been dealing with cervical vertigo and painful muscle tension in the left trapezius muscle along with fatigue for about 3 years now. The orthopedic doctor suggested a nerve root block would help his symptoms. Has anybody had this procedure done…if so please share your experience.

THanks

Any personal questions are welcome!

The bulge is pushing on nerves causing severe pain and making it sometimes hard to stand! There is a pinched nerve and the pain shoots down my right leg every now and then.

I can’t work. DO I QUALIFY? Thanks to all!
Also, I have already had some Epidural Steroid Injection Treatments but can no longer afford them because I was on Medicaid ( I was a kid now I am 21). However, I am a student. Are there any health benefits for me?

I didn’t do anything to bulge his disk/disc, so is it likely another woman made it bulge?

I’m asking in M&D because we might get married IF he is not cheating. I doubt it though.
Would you PLEASE answer in a mature fashion as i will you when I answer your questions..
