I have had a bulging disk at the L4-L5 since mid November. Was improving a bit with physio but now I’m in even more pain. I have tried the inversion table, acupuncture, physio and even a chiro visit. Nothing is working. What’s the best way to heal this. Walking is now even painful. I’m getting pain in my right hip. I’m 2 young for this. Can anyone please help…also anti-inflammatories and ice aren’t much relief either.

I have a bulging disc, what can i still do?

I have a bulging disk between my L4 & L5 and my doctor told me the only way to help would be bed rest and anti-inflammatory medications. I am a dancer and take a Hip Hop class once a week for about 2 hours. I want to continue dancing even though my doctor does not want me to. Is there any activities similar to dance that I can do that won’t bother my disk? I’m always active and I need something to do.

back injury?

I recently had a MRI and xray done on my back (referred by family doc) and it showed a protruding disk. I have been referred to an ortho. I started by seeing a chiropractor who also took xrays. If I remember correctly, he took xrays and said I had a bulging disk just above the sacrum. I would like to know if treated properly will I be able to do all the things I used to be able to do when I was a teen(32 now). I m currently trying to get into the Air National Guard. I have found that this diagnosis will enevitablly doom my chances of enlisment. Is there any hope for me?

Does anyone have a bulging disk which caused a lot of pain? If so, did you get cortizone injections and if you did how much relief from pain did you get? What has been the best pain relief?

Just got MRI results back. Family Doc says I have a bulging disk between C5-C6. Went to pain management yesterday and that Doc said it is pressing on the nerves affecting my left arm. I refused steroids shots b/c I am not in severe pain or debilitated. I am being sent to physical therapy which is fine with me as I need to learn how to do things so it does not get worse. Anyhow, what is the difference between buldging disks and herniated disks? I thought they were the same but I think I am mistaken. Also, any advice?

My doctor did a lumber MRI like 2 months ago because of some back, and leg pain I was having and found out I have a bulging disc. I am going in for an epidural injection in my back on monday, but just the last few days my pain has gotten A LOT worse. My back is KILLING me. I am in so much pain I cant even bend over. Every time I sneeze or cough etc Im almost in tears. At my physical therapy I go to, today I was in tears just from the normal simple exercises I do. My physical therapist suggested that maybe my pain has intensified because maybe my bulging disk is now herniated, or ruptured… Could that possibly be the reason for my EXTREMELY intensified pain?

I have a bulging disk and I have been hearing from several people that inversion tables work. Is this true?

I was diagnosed with whiplash, left tibial nerve damage, a slipped vertabrae, and a bulging disk. I did nerve testing, x-rays, and a mri. I have to see an ortho-specialist this week. I have been off work since the accident. I want to know excluding the medical bills and lost wages, what is fair compensation. Also, am I being unrealistic, do I need a lawyer?

Hi,

Since 1997, I have been experiencing significant pain in my SI Joint. The pain was originally in the SI Joint, however it eventually affected other areas of my body because of overcompensation. I have seen many different types of doctors and had many different opinion but to no avail. I have also had many types of tests taken but no finding. The pain and spasm in my SI joint can be debilitating at times; sometimes I speculate it is a bulging disk, however the MRI I took over six years only showed a small bulge which is normal for a former athlete, and I was told it was not what was causing my symptoms. M symptoms include SI joint pain, tightness and occassional pain in one or both gluteals, and when this happens, I can have tightness in my quads and calves, but no sciatic type of pain. My question is it possible to have a bulging disc in your SI region but not have the radiating pain associating with a bulging disc/sciatica? Thanks.
