bulging disc question?

Just received my MRi results / Lunbar spine and DOC says I have some arthritus and a bulging disc in lower back. The bulging disc the last 6 months is causing my feet to tingle and burn and some numbess in my knuckles and burning sensation.

DOC told me to do physical therepy and continue my gluecosemen and Vitamin B complex.

DOC was against shots at this time, because I’m not in any really bad pain.

And was totally against a chiropratic doctor because it could rupture my disk or give me a herninated disk.

Has anyone has these issues ?

Anyone have any ideas, and does physical therapy work ?

Brian
Thanks Richard. I’ll try those stretches.

Thanks for everyones input. Keep them coming.

Brian
Thanks again to all.

I might go to a PT or join Planet Fitness to build my stomach and back muscles… crunches, pull downs, etc. Not going to lift really heavy weight.

Alot of exercises can be found on YOU TUBE as well on bulging disc.

Found that ice also helps on the upper and lower back for 15 minutes a day.

Going to make it a point to do daily stretching exercises.

Brian

I had a c-section on September 26th. Recently I noticed something "plastic" hanging out of the incision area. It has turned black where it is attached to the skin. I have also had a burning sensation in the incision area. I did not notice this before my post-partum check-up but you would think that the doctor would have. I have no idea how to go about suing the doctor. Should I get medical treatment first? Should I contact a lawyer first? How do you find a lawyer that is willing to get paid only if you win the case?

Hello, I have swollen muscles in my lower and mid back, it kind of bulges out more on the left side. I also get this icy and hot burning sensation under my ribs that will last for days, then sometimes switch sides. Could I Have some sort of back problem? Also, could a kidney stone cause my back to bulge out like this? urine and blood test for kidney infection was negative. All blood tests for liver, etc normal.

if you feel uneasy in your lower back and looks like it went up to your upper back, what do you think would be a problem that you experience. an xray result for lumbar secral area is negative, but the pain and burning sensation always there, sometimes not so painful but sometime you are uncomfortable. what do you think the reason behind?

I have been suffering from low back pain for the past 2.5 years now. Initially, it started as small pain but gradually increased to a high level. The pain was mostly on the left side.

In Dec 2006, I had an MRI taken which showed mild disc bulge at L4-5 on the right side and significant disc herniation at L5-S1 on the left side. The MRI also showed some disc dehydration at these two disc levels.

For the past 2.5 years though, the pain used to vanish by 95% when I used to sit down. The pain was continuous while walking and standing at one point.

But since 10 days, the pain has increased to such an extent that I am not even able to sit. The pain starts in the lower back, goes down the thigh and legs and sometimes a burning sensation in the legs. Also, the pain has started on the right side of the lower back which was not there earlier.

I had another MRI taken recently in Oct 2008 and the report was not much different from the earlier one. The only difference was that now the disc herniation at L4-5 and L5-S1 has become bilateral now ( on both left and right sides ).

I have been continuously undergoing physiotherapy for the past 2.5 years but there has not been a period where I was completely free from pain. I have also recently tried Ayurvedic therapy for 7 days continuously and there was no significant relief.

I have heard about this spinal decompression technique which might be helpful for such cases of lower back. This would be the last resort before surgery.

Can anyone tell me whether this really helps ? Are there any risks associated with it ? Also, is the treatment available in India ?

I am ready to spend time, effort and money if it really helps. I have one year of time to go before marriage and I want to get rid of the pain before that.

Sorry for having taken your time with a long history but thought to explain the problem in detail.

Looking forward to some quick replies.

I’ve never been involved in a rear-end collision. As superficial as the damage appears to be to both vehicles, I sustained a whiplash injury. Of course the at-fault driver’s insurance company doesn’t want to acknowledge the injury and are asking for authorization to obtain medical records.
I’ve never had to see a doctor for anything other than my annual visits to the gynecologist so there are no records with my primary physician on record other than this injury. Do I also need to provide them the release for my gynecology visits? I don’t want to jeopardize my claim for the injury by not doing so. But it seems rather silly that they might need to know how my pap smears have checked out and that I’ve birthed two children.
My injury is the basic cervical strain with an inflamed C7 for which I’m taking anti-inflammatory meds. I can’t sit in the same position very long before I get spasms in my middle back and a stretching burning sensation in my neck and middle back. But they don’t seem to think this is possible and are discouraging me seeking treatment saying they wont pay for anything they do not feel is "warranted."
I realize they must have to deal with a lot of people who cry wolf for monetary gain. But I have to deal with these painful sensations every day.
I live in Illinois and I do not have a clue what I should do to protect myself and make sure I’m able to get the care I need.
I appreciate anyone who may have a little advice for an Average Sally.
Just to be clear, I have been to a doctor twice. Once just after the accident in an urgent care facility and once to a specialist in my primary doc’s office with whom I am continuing to see for follow ups. My question is, I guess, whether they also need a release for my gynecologist visits and how to handle the claim if they do not acknowledge the injury. The adjuster said it would be hard for me to prove the injury was caused by the accident because the damage appears superficial. I should add I was at a complete stop when the guy slid into me due to the icy roads. It seems his bumper went underneath mine.
Yeah, I’m not worried about privacy issues rather I just wasnt sure if they needed my girl doctor records. I don’t care if they have them. I just want to handle things correctly.
