The main character in a story I am working on needs to be stuck on a British estate for a few weeks due to an injury. It has to be something that will legitimately keep her there to further the story. I thought maybe a broken limb or maybe a concussion of some sort. I’m not sure. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Accident details:
- My husband and I live in Illinois and we were in a car accident at 45mph
- The car and insurance were under my name
- He was the driver and caused the accident (I was in the passanger seat)
- the car was totalled
- my husband had minor injuries
My injuries
- lots of bruising (immediately apparent)
- i suffered a concussion (determined several days later at a follow up appointment)
- i have a broken foot (a 4mm break) (determined 2.5 months after the accident)
Broken Foot Details
- in the ER xrays were taken of my foot, but they did not see that my foot was broken.
- i walked on a broken foot for 2.5 months but being in so much pain (felt nausous from just sitting down) that i went in again.
- after that doctor’s visit (including more xrays), a poditrist visit and a CT scan, it was determined that my cuboid bone was broken (4mm).
- i had surgery to have a screw put into my foot.
Fall out from foot injury
- i have been unable to work on fixing up my investment property since the accident
- we have been unable to finish it to put it on the market.
- we are really behind mainly due to this accident and that they didnt see that my foot was broken for 2.5 months
Uninsured Motorist Insurance Details
- i had 5,000 in medical payment (which I thought were very low to what I thought I was paying for) which has been maxed out
- we were told that since i was the passenger I would be covered under the uninsured motorist coverage.
-> Can someone explain this to me?
Injury Claim details
- my insurance person said that since i did not cause the accident, i could make an injury claim
- i was told that i would get compensated for any time off relating to the accident covered along with pain and suffering
-> 1st…. does an injury claim mean i am suing my own car insurance?
-> 2nd….approximately what would my pain and suffering be based on all of this?

I was involved in an accident yesterday. The other driver ran the red light and tboned me such as she was found at fault. It is my first accident and im not sure how this works ionly suffered minor bruising and a concussion other than that just pure soreness and a little ake in my lower back so nothing too serious. Should I hire a lawyer and if yes is it beneficial to sue the other carrier immust wanting to make sure I get the most out of the situation I can and not leave anythingout

I was in a car accident last June and have been to 12 doctors all of whom just try one thing and if it doesn’t work they give up. I’m at my whits end. I’ve got severe neck and low back injuries and possibly a concussion. Would this type of therapy help me in anyway with the pain? Does anyone have experience with this?

I was involved in an accident on July 1, 2009. I was coming through an intersection (with a green light) and a vehicle coming in the opposite direction decided to pull out in front of me and make a left hand turn. I ended up hitting them. They were found at fault. I settled with my insurance company to cover the cost of my vehicle. Damages came to about , 500 and with that amount my car was totaled. My insurance company (Nationwide) gave me about ,500, the other drivers insurance company offered me almost a thousand less. I was still financing, so the entire ,500 paid for what I owed on my car. I then hired an attorney. I sustained a concussion (which I still encounter headaches from and it could continue for years), neck and back pain, lots of bruising, bumps and burns (from the air bags deploying), not to mention the emotional trauma I am STILL going through, I dove into a deep depression from it all. I have about ,000 in medical expenses (physical therapy, doctors visits etc.) My claim has just now been passed over to the insurance company! What should I expect? What should I base my settlement amount off of? How do you determine how much you should be awarded for pain and suffering? I lost my job from the accident (because I had no car). It’s been almost a year and I still have no car. Can’t afford to buy one without a job and can’t really get a job without a car (goes hand in hand). This wreck has put me through a lot. I hope and pray it’s my last. Any advice? Anything I should go by when the insurance company comes to my lawyer with an offer? Any advice or suggestions is much, much appreciated! Thank you!

My son was hit in the head with a football in school while in P.E. and was knocked unconscious. The P.E. Teacher was no where to be found when this happened. The stupid teacher put him on the school bus and told the kids not to let him go to sleep. The school did not call or contact me about the incident that happened. The students on the bus noticed that he started going in and out consciousness and alerted the bus driver, who then pulled over and checked him out and could not get him to respond, but since she was around the corner from his house she took him home and sent 2 students to get his mother. When the mother arrived at the bus stop she found her son slumped over a seat with his eyes rolled back in his head. A student had there cellphone and called 911. The bus driver made a report and contacted the school asst principal. The accident had not been reported. He was taken to the hospital from the school bus. He had a concussion. He is having seizures now from the accident.

I was riding my bike and a lady t-boned me on my ride side. I flew up on the hood of the car and flew to the pavement. I had roadrash, brusing, and a concussion. No broken bones. She was 100% at fault according to the police report. She was also driving with a suspended license. How should I go about obtaining compensation? Through the insurance company or through a personal lawyer? I would just like money to cover medical bills and the bike, anything extra would be a bonus. Which is the best option? With a lawyer I would have to pay out 30% with less hassle. With insurance, I would have to deal with it myself but may end up with more money. Any one have experiences with this?
The police report stated it was completely her fault. She was at a control intersection and I was traveling on a road with no traffic control regulations. She was ticketed for failure to yield the right away and for driving with a suspended license.

Last week my friend and I got into an auto accident. We were both drunk when she drove 86 mph into a telephone pole. We were taken by ambulence to the hospital. I had a severe concussion and whiplash. It is less than a week, and I am in severe pain still. I have been thinking about getting an attorney to help me out. I would just like to know anyones opinions on using an attorney. This accident happened in Oregon. They driver (my best friend) was charged with a DUII.
