I was in a car accident recently. It wasn’t severe, but I sustained some muscular strain from the beginning. I also felt my knee was a bit sore; I assumed I hit it against something.

A couple of days afterward, I saw a physician and mentioned my knee pain to him. He examined it and determined it had a slight contusion – and suggested I just give it some rest and take some pain relievers.

After about 7 or so more days, I was feeling some real pressure in my knee and it was getting progressively worse. I went back in to see the physician and he ordered an MRI of my knee.

The MRI results showed tears of the meniscus. The physician’s report states that the reason for doing the MRI was because of the car accident and subsequent pain in the knee.

I spoke with the (other party’s) insurance adjuster today. She’s accepted liability for the accident, but says that it’s highly unlikely that the torn meniscus is due to the accident itself.

I wasn’t having any problems with my knee before the accident. Obviously, it’s impossible to tell with certainty what the cause of the tear was, but it seems pretty clear cut to me.

Is she correct that torn menisci are rare in auto accidents? I’m not trying to jack the system here. I just want to be sure my knee is treated properly – and that they pay, if they’re responsible.

My son was involved in a single vehicle motor vehicle accident and he was treated and released from our local hospital. The insurance adjustor called a couple of days ago and she is sending us some paperwork to fill out on the PIP-personal injury protection. I realize this does cover medical bills and lost wages, but does it cover any lost items such as tools or his tool box? Any help will be appreciated.

I slipped and fell in december and as a result I have a bulging disc at L5 and an SI joint disfunction. I have nerve damage in my lower back and both my legs which was discovered after an EMG. I am always in terrible pain and have to walk with a cane. I have pain in my back
And both my legs constantly. Some days I can hardly walk. I have tried 15 weeks of physical therapy and nothing has worked. I am scheduled for an epidural injection tomorrow. I was Just wondering how effective this will be and if it will make all my pain go away. Also how will I feel after I have the injection? Will I have increased pain? Will I be stuck in bed for a couple of days? OverLl just want to know if this is going to work and if I will finally be able to get my life
Back. Thanks for all your responses.

I have been practicing yoga since January this year and suffering from severe pain in the neck and fingers of the hands ever since. It was only a couple of days back that I realized that I was exercising in a wrong manner which caused the pain. I have stopped exercising for the last two days. There has been about 5% improvement in the pain since. How long will it take to heal completely? Will I require surgery?

What causes lower back pain and vomiting?

I’m 12 weeks pregnant and for the last couple of days, my right "hip" has been bothering the heck out of me. The pain starts in my lower back just about my right butt cheek and shoots down through my hip into my leg. Doc says it’s sciatica but is it normal to have it this early?

after effects of a lumbar epidural?

I have one scheduled next week. I set it up, so I would have the whole weekend to heal, but unfortunately they had to push it back a couple of days.
Now, my app will be on a day, where I have my college classes on the following day. Most people would say just skip it, BUT I have perfect attendance and it’s almost finals and I cannot afford to miss a day.
My question: I know most of the side affects, but will sitting stiff for hours on end the following day, be possible?

Thanks so much!

Is my lower back pain a serious injury?

About two weeks ago I was at the gym and decided to squat for the first time. As I have never done it before, I started with 115lbs. Since I found them pretty easy, I went up to 125lbs and then 135lbs. It was after I did 135lbs that I felt a pain in my lower back (around L5). It hurt for the remainder of the day especially when I would stand up after sitting down for a while. The pain subsided after about a week, but a couple of days ago it returned while I was playing soccer. The pain comes and goes. It does not hurt as bad now, but it is worrying. If it helps any I weigh 142lbs, bench press 205lbs, leg press 210lbs, 5ft 8in, 18 years old, waist size is 30, and I did not wear a belt.

Back injury due to falling off of horse?

A few months ago I was riding my horse, and he took a sharp right turn, my saddle started sliding, and I fell off. I fell on my left shoulder, but I got back up and continued riding. For a couple of days I couldn’t really lift my arm, and I was sore, but other than that I was fine. But for a couple of weeks now I find that if I get up quickly or just move wrong, my lower back or right hip will catch and I won’t be able to get up. After a few minutes, Im fine but the sudden pain is bad enough. I don’t know if falling off my horse has anything to do with it, unless when I fell on my shoulder I twisted my back. Any ideas what could have happened?

lower back injury?

i had a car crash in May. A couple of days later i was crippled with pain in my lower spine. i couldnt sit, stand etc. My husband took me to hospital and they said i had inflamation around the disc. Gave me pain killers and told me to see my doctor in 3 days time (which i did). he also confirmed that my disc was swollen and that i had the siatic nerve trapped as the pain was shooting down my legs into my feet. He refered me to physio where i am undergoing Traction treatment and heat treatment etc. I feel like i’m being crusified with pain. The embarresing thing is that i am finding it hard to control my bladder and have leakage before i manage to get to the toilet as my legs and knees are that sore if i walk that i cant get to the toilet quick enough. I had to see an independant doctor and he kept on and on at me about why i havent had one of those M.R.I scans. I told him that i dont know. all i know is that the physio said i have problems with my L5 disc.
Nobody is really explaining anything to me about what is going on. All they said is that i will be off work for at least 6 months if not longer. Why havent i been given one of those scans? When i ask the doctor, he said its because they know what the problem is without one. Why cant they just tell me whats going on. How can they tell just like that what is wrong?

Will a chiropractor help with back pain?

I have back pain from bulging discs. I get periodic pain that may last for a couple of days and there are periods of several weeks without pain. I am seeking others experiences with chiropractic sessions. Is there hope to relieve this pain some with a chiropractor?

I have been feeling this pressure at the back of my neck lately that usually never goes away unless I drink a pain reliever. Im also feeling dizziness at times. I will see my doctor in a couple of days about this condition, but I would like to hear your opinion first. Is there anyone that could help me figure this out. Thanks!
