Can a disc protrusion at c1-c2 cause lower back pain?
I’m not asking for a diagnosis I’m just wondering if other people have experienced lower back pain due to a disc protrusion near the top of the spine. I would guess no but I was wondering anyway.
Finding An Attorney In New York For Herniated Disc And Spinal Cord Injuries

I recently had a MRI and xray done on my back (referred by family doc) and it showed a protruding disk. I have been referred to an ortho. I started by seeing a chiropractor who also took xrays. If I remember correctly, he took xrays and said I had a bulging disk just above the sacrum. I would like to know if treated properly will I be able to do all the things I used to be able to do when I was a teen(32 now). I m currently trying to get into the Air National Guard. I have found that this diagnosis will enevitablly doom my chances of enlisment. Is there any hope for me?
My right shin has been hurting for about 2 months. I just got it checked out by my trainer and they said its possibly a stress fracture, but I’m not sure they really know and they haven’t made a complete diagnosis. They also are just trying random things to make it feel better.
I have had a pinched nerve in my hip for well over a year now. No doctors ever gave us the right diagnosis, so it was basically treated for all the wrong things "pulled muscle, cyst, spine curve".. And I’m going to the doctors tomorrow, I think they might have me go under surgery since it’s been so long. I’ve been trying to google the surgical procedure, but the medical terms are a little too complicated for me. Has anyone went through this before? What’s the cost also? What are the risks?
Recently I posted a question about feeding a 4 month old baby small quantities of water. I mentioned that the pediatrician had been rude and snapped at me for feeding her 2 oz of water after 2-3 days of diarrhea. I took her back 2 days later to a different pediatrician and positively insisted on contaminate testing of her stool as there had been blood in her stool for 3 days. The first pediatrician had said it was intolerance of her formula and switched her to soy. The second also switched her to Alimentium BUT heeded my advice to check for Salmonella, ova and parasites (the mother has well water). Come to find out, the baby tested positive for Salmonella (the mother had a boa constrictor in the room that was converted to a nursery). Should I do something to prosecute the first doctor who could have done the same test and possibly prevented the infant from suffering days of cramping diarrhea, an unbelivably raw bottom and bloody stools?
It’s a cut and dried case of a physician not taking the time to care for a sick patient. The child was new to the clinic and new to the doctor and she didn’t even take the time to note her past medical history or other complaints. The child is on Medicaid and her family is very poor. The doctor spent less than 10 minutes with her and just assumed without ever observing the three blood-tinged, stool-filled diapers that she had a milk allergy. Turns out she has SALMONELLA!!
AFTER POSTS – MORE DETAIL:
This, I might add, was not "simply" diarrhea. THE CHILD’S STOOL TESTED POSITIVE FOR SALMONELLA!! This means that IF the first doc had actually taken MORE THAN 10 MINUTES with this Medicaid baby, she might’ve made a different diagnosis. If she hadn’t been so busy snapping my head off for trying to rehydrate this infant, perhaps she might’ve made a better diagnosis. The child STILL TO THIS DAY has diarrhea. There is no blood, but her bottom is still chapped and raw from the 10+ stool filled diapers she has a day. We are using 1/8" of Desitin or Boudreaux’s butt paste, or Triple Paste, or Vaseline, or a mixture, or talcum-free cornstarch powder, or a combination of all that on this child’s fanny. I’m not her mother, just her caregiver, and I’m really FURIOUS with that first doctor for not catching this sooner. Not sure what she could’ve done, but she could have at least KNOWN the child had Salmonella had she taken the time to test!
My friend knows she has a pinched nerve and herniated discs in her neck, and has the exact same headache symptoms I do. She is unaware of at-home help. I happen to know my chiropractor-boss once adjusted my neck and the pain was instantly gone.
So, does anyone know of a way to resolve this? At the very least, even if I’m wrong about my diagnosis, you will be helping her!
Thank you.
PS I haven’t worked for this chirpractor in years and have moved far away, or I’d just ask him… LOL
My fiance’ has a pain in her lower back almost everyday. When i massage it i notice that her muscles are almost rock hard/knotted until i massage them. Her doctor has prescribed her with meloxicam which is an arthritis medicine, the medicine does not help at all any other suggestions, besides icy hot, or ibuprofen/pain meds or some sort of diagnosis?
When I was about 14 years old I fell off a trampoline and messed up 6 of my vertebrates. I went to the chiropractor and had them treated for about 3 months and eventually stopped going. Now, I am 18 and I have been physically active in several sport in school. I recently had an injury relating to my back during weight lifting about 3 months ago. The doctor said I had just strained my back so I took pain medicine and dis inflammatory. Now, I went for a free checkup at the chiropractor and he said the reason I have back injuries so often is because I have scoliosis in my lower back as a result from earlier injuries that weren’t treated properly. All he did to determine this was ask me where it hurt and X-ray me. Is it possible he is correct on his diagnosis? Or is there a chance he is incorrect because I have never been diagnosed with scoliosis before and I always receive my yearly physical. I am very worried can anyone advise me?
Okay, here’s the deal… I had a c-section when my son was born. Sometime later I developed a mass in my abdomen near the scar and it’s incredibly painful! I finally received a "diagnosis" and the doctor is quite confident that it is an endometrioma and it’s there because the doctor that delivered my son, sewed my part of my uterus into the lining of my stomach muscle when he was "closing" me up. (I still have to have corrective surgery to confirm the diagnosis.) If, in fact, this is what happened, I am going to proceed with a malpractice suit. Any ideas as to what is involved, how long it takes, is it worth it, and how much might I expect to get?
My doctor would like me to have a lumbar puncture as the final test in a diagnosis of MS. I have some bothersome symptoms, but not what you would call a flare up. I do not want to have a lumbar puncture at this time if it will not show evidence during remission.
I know that you aren’t doctors, but I am talking about any similar (bad) experience if you had it before.Currently, I am having an injury in my lower back, and I have no idea when it came from nor any doctor can tell me. I’ve been to three different doctors, and they all told me three different diagnosis.
My husband got his MRI back today (he’s 26) and that was the diagnosis. He is in the Army and he really likes it so hope this won’t affect that. They gave him some medicine and they are gonna do a spinal tap thing and see how that goes. If that goes good they will try physical therapy. His only restriction as of now is no running. I have no ideal how severe it is becuse I didn’t go and he didn’t ask! Also the paper is labeled as illness/ disease.
Hi,
I believe that I had a surgery on my legs that was not necessary. Now my legs hurt much worse than before, are numb all over, and hurt severely.
How can I go about initiating a malpractice lawsuit? I think I only needed orthopedics before not surgery but the doctor didn’t perform enough diagnosis work.
If someone has suspected MS is a lumbar puncture always needed for a diagnosis, or can an MRI sometimes be enough? If so,how often is a lumbar puncture needed?
My wife messed up her back, we believe its some sort of inflamation related to a possible ruptured disc or something of that nature, the pain is very severe at the moment. she saw a chiropractor and he is reccomending adjustments , but since they cannot write prescriptions, who should we see next for not only a prescription but a 2nd opinion…. I would go thought the normal channels that most people go thru but I dont have medical insurance and dont really want to pay for each shuffle to "someone that knows more about this stuff" …. I understand that an MRI will give a good picture of what is wrong but those are very expensive.
So what kind of doctor should we seek that can give a good diagnosis / second opinion, as well as prescribe Anti-Inflamitorys and give tips for recovery.
