The doc says shoulder bursitis, the physical therapist says rotator cuff impingement. (pinched nerve). I just wonder if I need an MRI for a diagnosis, or if all these are treated the same. Anyone have experience with this? I see the MD again in 2 days, thanks for your input.

Diagnosed last week with Multi level disc degeneration disease-I have CONSTANT pain in my arms and legs and feet-I was prescribed gabapentin but I am not sure if it will work or if it will just leave me drugged out. I have to work everyday-and so far I haven’t been able to take anything that doesn’t make me drowsy-I am only taking Tylenol if there is another pain reliever that would help me during the day-please let me know what it is-Thanks!!
Why did you respond to a question you had no intention answering? I just gave you the specifics of my diagnosis-I have every intention of taking this medication but I just inquired if anyone else had any success with it. If you have NOT had any-don’t answer-that is why this is called ‘Yahoo Answers’

ok so i have liek serious back pain and stupid doctors never made a diagnosis. i have no reason to go to a doctor because the pain isnt constant. And my mom doesnt think i should go either (btw im like 14). When the pain is bad and i take an ibprofen, it makes it feel better but the pain is still there… what could this b and what should i do about it?
by the way, i went to a doctor before about all this and they took an MRI. they never told me ANYTHING about what was going on…

I am 400 pounds and 5’9 (yes I am currently seeking medical help to loose weight) but I am in terrible pain and mostly bedridden with a serious back injury,my doctor wants me to have an MRI but it was too close of a call for me to be squeezed into the Machine and I became frightened. Now what are my alternatives to get the diagnosis I desperately need?

My friend told me that his wife has sciatica. I know this is not a diagnosis, but rather a set of pains plaguing the sciatic nerve. Anyway, his wife got pregnant and according to my friend she "had to abort" because the doctors told her that it would be between loosing her leg (I guess meaning it would become limp/dead) or giving up the baby. Is this true? Can people with sciatic nerve problems not have children?
