Finding An Attorney In New York For Herniated Disc And Spinal Cord Injuries
I know what they stand for.
I was arrested for driving drunk when I was a kid. I later got a lawyer who told me he got my DUI reduced to a DWI. Now I am pretty sure they are the same thing and he was just pulling my leg.
Don’t worry, I have never been arrested or have a record, I’m just curious because I’ve heard both these acronyms used.
One friend of mine says that a DUI is driving under alcohol intoxication while DWI is driving under the influence of drugs. But another friend of mine says it doesn’t matter, they’re both the same. I’m confused.
I have a felony in wv for child endanderment with risk of bodily injury and a DUI and in TN an attempted robbery years ago. However i want to make my life better and have caught some bad raps due to thing i plead on because i was scared and want to be able to help people not be just a peice of paper. I want to make a career,and help people.will those things prohibit me from becoming a lawyer.?

ok now i was arrested for DUI. when the office asked me to take a breathalyzer test i said i will but can my mother be here (im only 19) he said ok went to call her she didnt answer then he just got back in the car and drove to the jail. when we got there and he showed me his report it said i refused the test. i told him right there i didnt refuse i just wanted my mother there and i had no problem with taking it. he said don’t worry about it because it just had to be worded that way. now to me it seems as if he did something wrong because in my eyes i didnt refuse and he never asked me if i would take one without her there. i think he messed up.
so my question is if we go to court what do you think will happen as far as that story goes with the breathalyzer test?
will they be able to say i really refused it?
is it a slip up on his part?
remember i already know what i did was wrong i dont need a counseling session and i already know i need to get a lawyer regardless i am just trying to get some idea of how that is going to be taken in court before hand.

i felt that asking for my mother to be there was the same thing as asking for my attorney to be there. i just wanted some one else there because i had never done that before and just wanted to make sure the cops were doing everything right.
So a friend of my just got a DUI. After he told me the story I couldn’t stop laughing but it made me think.
He and another friend were at a party. My friend is 19 and his friend that was driving was 22. Long story short, they pull into a gas station so the 22yo can grab some smokes. While he’s in there, he leaves the car running and my friend in the passanger seat who is sleeping. A cop pulls into the gas station, wakes my friend up and gives him a breathalyzer. He blows a .12 and the cop give’s him a DUI.
The actual driver of the car comes back out, blows a .03 and doesn’t receive any ticket or citation.
Several questions:
1. How in the world can this be a reasonable search and seizure, he wasn’t making a scene or causing problems, for godsakes he was sleeping. Not sure why the cops even decided to bother him.
2. Since the security camera tapes will show he never got out of the car and that the 22yo was driving, how in the world can they give him a DUI?
This is in MN if it makes a difference. He’s going to talk to a lawyer today. Any questions comments concerns. Thanks!
The thing I’m reading also is that in MN the courts have to show that the person had the intent to drive. Since that’s clearly missing in this case I’m thinking he has a shot of getting out of this.
I know we’re splitting hairs here but it’s not illegal to leave the car running as long as a licensed driver is in the vehicle.
He had to go to work but hopefully sometime tonight I’ll get the info on what the lawyer said. I’m finding this fascinating (probably more so since its not me hahahahahah).
we live in Jersey, and it was raining, she had a little to drink, but down hill the car got outta control and hit a telephone pole.she’s fine and the cars fixable. (we got insurance) .
but the towing company called the cops and now she’s reported as DUI. but i mean, wats gonna happen to her?
she works in the city, she needs a car.

well i dont have any recollection of the night, all i can say is WHAT WAS IN THAT DRINK??!
i was alone and spun out on the interstate, totaled the car, woke up in uofm hospital. They took my blood and urine and had the mri done. No physical damage. They’re precautions weren’t as harsh as 48th district court in Oakland County.
I am hoping to not have to serve any jail time

I was thinking about enlisting to help my case and hopefully just get away with probation and just have a shit ton of money fees. I’m fine with that. My parents don’t have money, but I do. I just cant afford to lose my job.
I am in the 14a-3 district court in Chelsea, MI of Washtenaw County. I heard of people with OUI felonies and never serving jail time, but I am underage and this IS my second misdemeanor.
I’m 19, I also have been thinking about enlisting in the army since my last dwi, and i really want this so i can be a better person and go to college like I always dreamed about.. I am very passionate about being stable and independent.
but with that said, no one was hurt in the accident
I just want to know if anybody knows the usual things I will be going through or what the judge usually does in this district if not just a general 2nd dui offense case..
Do they carryy the same amount of time in Arkansas. What is the difference? I mean does one carry a stiffer punishment and higher fines. I was wondering for my best friend got a DUI. But the courts have it mixed up as a DWI on the paperwork and should he leave it the way they got it or have them to change it to the DUI like it is. Does it make a difference. What could be the outcomes of a DWI accident that caused major damage to a utility pole, a fuel line, the street, and a peice of private property. There was a fire for about 1.5 hours. I believe everything had to be replaced, from the pole to the wires. This is a first offence for an ex-military guy. The lawyer and the arresting officer both have a good feeling about being able to drop the DWI to a DUI, but that is all I know because I care not to discuss this with my friend…but I am worried about him and wondering what could be in store. There was a lot of damage and utility workers worked for atleast a week to fix the area. The truck he was driving was fully insured…but it was not in his name. No one was injured.
I know that DUI is Driving Under the Influence and DWI is Driving While Intoxicated. Don’t they both mean you’re driving with drugs or alcohol in your system? What’s the difference?
I’m thinking of hiring Myles L. Berman to help me with my DUI. But he’s expensive. Is it worth it? I’ve heard first time offenders in LA usually have the same results as far as penalties.
Any insight?

Ok..i’m in sort of a big predicament. My bf and I got pulled over and he is, I believe, charged with a dui. He has recieved a dwi in 04′, so I’m really stressed out and nervous here. I was actually the one that was too drunk and had called for him to pick me up at a friend’s house…had way too much to drink, i know…uncool….he came over and hung out for a little bit and had a couple of beer….but he’s a big dude so couple of beers won’t do anything to him…
Anyways..it was about 2:30 in the moring when we got pulled over…My bf confessed to having a couple of beers and I told the officers the whole story….they administered the Sobreiety test?..on him while i was in the car…I wanted to get out to explain to them but they insisted i sit in the car…anyways…i could hear the officer telling my bf that they could totally smell alcohol on me and not much from him….i also pleaded with the other officer that it was my fault that i had called him to come pick me up and i didn’t want him to get in trouble because of me…he assured me everything would be fine and that it seems my bf is ok….well i guess he did ok for the first test but then they did the breathalyzer test and i guess thats where he failed….
Anyways i don’t really know about any of these things…pertainig to dui laws and stuff…Im a big goodie goodie….i can’t believe i allowed this to happen….but my bf told me they didn’t discuss with him anything …like if he passed either of the test…or if they were gonna charge him anything….they just told him he had to go to jail for 6 hours to sober up and that i can pick him up in the morning…they actually even drove his car home for him….his court date is coming up in couple of weeks and i’ve been checking stuff up online….should he get a dui attorney???…considering this would be his second offense…and also since he was charged with a dwi the first time…say he did get a dui this time…would that be considered a second offense or a first offense?…are they two different thigns?….
my bf is 28…he was a bit of a trouble maker in his younger days…but ever since getting with me he has cleaned up his act considerably….his record is clean though except for the first dwi in 04′…he makes a decent living…but has to support both of his parents aand me….i just finished school..still trying to find a job..so we don’t actually have money to just spend…can i make payment arrangements for the attorney if we decide to get it…and lastly is this a lost cause because he did have some alcohol in his system…
sorry for so many questions….but since he hasnt been to court yet..is his license suspended or not …can he still drive around legally?…I feel so bad…i know he should’ve made better judgement considering I was the drunk one…my bf also said at the time we were the only ones on the freeway….they said he was speeding…sorry for the long story….but i do need some advise…thanks….
