back pain after epidural for herniated disc?

My mother just had a epidural for her herniated disc about a week ago. she came home from work today barely able to walk or even sit. she is in a incredible amount of pain, and she does not know why.
Does anyone know why she is in pain so soon after the epidural and what course of action should we pursue? Please and Thank you.

I had an epidural in 2006 for my first son shortly after that I suffered lower back pain and in 2010 I had a spinal for my second son. I still suffer terrible lower back pains. I’m not on any treatment. I’d like to know what to take for treatment.

Epidural and spinal fusion surgery?

Has anyone been able to have an epidural during delivery that has had a spinal fusion surgery? I had the surgery about 10 years ago for scoliosis, and was just curious as to what issues it may cause? I’m not ‘set’ on having an epidural, but I’d like to have it as an option.

This woman I know gave birth about two weeks ago, and she fractured her tailbone during labor. She is trying to get a lawsuit on the hospital, which I think is dumb. Is it common to fracture your tailbone during labor? Can having an epidural increase your chances? And is it a body thing, or can it really be the delivering doctor’s fault that her tailbone is fractured?

I have been dealing with unbearable pain for just about 2yrs. It started a few months after the epidural I recieved with my youngest child. I finally went to the doctors about a yr and a half ago complaining of the pain. They put me on tramadol and sent me to get an x ray it came back normal, so I asked about getting an MRI. I also went to an rhumatologist (RA) who diagnosed me with fibromyalgia and when I told her of the back pain she argued with me saying its just your fibromyalgia. They told me do to my insurance that I had to go through a process which was x ray, physical therapy, mri. I was all for it ,well they never did anything, so a month ago I went to my regular doctor again and told her I wanted an mri or a referral to someone who could help me ( I was at my wits end with pain and all the other suffering to much to type) so she sent me to an orthopedic doctor. They got me in the beg. of dec for an MRI and I got the results today saying I do in fact have a bulging disc. My question is do I have a chance at a law suit ?

It wasn’t just misdiagnoses they didnt attempt to do anything for a long time even though they knew I had to complete certain things to get the mri. Plus all the times they never refilled meds to ease the pain all the times my daughter saw her mother crying in pain that was so bad it made me sick, pale etc. All any one did was say o well you need an mri but here are more meds and we cant or wont do the mri.

When I was 16 I had to have my L5-S1 vertebra’s fused because of a ruptured disk. Since then I’ve heard from a few different sources that if I ever got pregnant that I wouldn’t be able to have an epidural during the delivery because of my fusion. So my question is, if I were ever to get pregnant could I have an epidural even though I have a spinal fusion?

I am due with my 3rd child in a week and have had one baby without an epidural and the last one with one. However the blood patches and headaches from the epidural mistake was WORSE than labor. (Yes, if that is possible) Help? Likelyhood of this happening again?

pain pills but im in a ton of pain and am not getting up. is it necessary to go to the ER? won’t they just give me pain pills? btw im most certain i got the nerve damage from a nurse who hit my sciatic nerve while giving an injection.
no it was pain meds in liquid form that were given to me through injection but not an epidural and i got this shot two and a half weeks ago.

How long before i recover from sciatic nerve damage?

Suffered pain for a week before I saw my osteopath who adjusted me, gave me meds and insisted that I get an epidural steroidal injection. pain was gone within 24 hours, but my left foot is tingly/numb on the bottom. How long does it take to recover? Can I run on this?

What can I do to relieve my sciatic nerve?

I’ve tried pain pills, epidural shots etc. I’m in constant pain from the moment I wake up in the morning. I got a new firm mattress and that almost has made my condition worse. I have another epidural shot coming in Sept. but I need some help or advice. I have to take pain pills just to get some relief because I have 2 toddlers. Help??

Has anyone ever had an epidural for lumbar stenosis?

How was it? Likes? Dislikes? If you have had an epidural for other reasons, you are still welcome to answer. Thanks.

Oh…my aching bulging disc!?

I have a bulging disc with degenerative disc disease. I’ve never had back trouble in my life. I’ve got 3 jobs (I know, I know…) and 3 kids. I got my first cortisone epidural earlier this week. I had a little bit of relief for a day or so, but now the pain is back. Am I headed for fusion surgery? My PT and ortho think it’s down the line, since nothing else is working.

I just wanted to say that. Thanks for listening
I’m seeing a Chiropractor, and a GP. I had an epidural in hospital but the pain is still there. Have to see a back specialist on Friday. I heard there’s a laser treatment in the USA, but that’s a long way from me.

Considering pregnancy with back injury?

Considering pregnancy with back injury?
I am considering pregnancy but have a multi level L-spine and hip injury from falling at work. Both cause major pain in left side all the way to foot. No treatment has helped. I have pain from my low back into entire left leg and also tingling into the foot.

Saw my GYN today and she said it would not be a good decision for me and would cause too much stress on a baby. She said I could have sciatica with normal pregnancy and my injury could complicate things more.

Any advice would be great
have tried pt, meds, accupuncture, chiro, even an epidural…. it is hard to move, bend, sleep, no matter what i try to do
my sister who is a surgical nurse said she did not agree with GYN……
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
