Anyone have a lumbar laminectomy?

My fiance had his 4th back surgery. This time they removed a section of the lamina in his lumbar spine to relieve the pressure on the nerves. He now has a bony lump (which is getting worse) at the top of his incision. Is this normal after this type of surgery? It is extremely painful when it’s touched and he’s 3 weeks out of surgery. The docs said they would need to watch the stability of his spine after this surgery, is this an indication that it’s weakening or just a normal lump from the removal?

The doctor told my fiance a few months ago that he had a ruptured disk. He gets burning pains in his left leg when he stands or walks for more than a half hour or so, and he doesn’t want to go through surgery to correct the problem (we have heard it doesn’t really do much good, and also, we don’t have the money for it). Does anyone know what we can do that would be non-invasive to help the situation? Right now he’s using a cane, but that only helps slightly. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Should I tell my fiance to go to a regular doctor, or a chiropractor? Thanks.

i have a few questions reguarding lawsuits. My fiance is in the process of a lawsuit. He has his an EBT coming up. I believe that is a deposition. How many depostions will he have and in how long do you think the lawsuit will be settled after the deposition. Also we are moving and currently have our mail being sent to our parents house and i recently noticed that the mail from his lawyer the envelope and letter is addressed to him and under his name say’s "c/o his grandmas name"….why is that?….it doesnt say "grandmas name" it actually says the name i just dont want to give it out.

My fiance got arrested last Saturday night for DUI but I was wondering if he needed an attorney if he was planning on pleading guilty? Since it’s obvious that he is since he did fail the breathalizer but is it now necessary for me to call an attorney for him when he goes to court in the morning? Also what is the most penalty for a first time DUI is there any jail time involved? I’m really worried about him since I haven’t seen him since and we are trying to keep it from our parents so I can’t ask them for help.

Not sure if I was clear, but this is a BONY lump on his spine that wasn’t there before. It’s getting bigger, it’s solid bone.

What would cause a case of chronic back pain?

My fiance’ has a pain in her lower back almost everyday. When i massage it i notice that her muscles are almost rock hard/knotted until i massage them. Her doctor has prescribed her with meloxicam which is an arthritis medicine, the medicine does not help at all any other suggestions, besides icy hot, or ibuprofen/pain meds or some sort of diagnosis?

I was injured at a local store. A display type box (above shoulder height on shelf) of the new style large curved shower curtain rods fell on my head and shoulder. (It contained 5 of these curtain rods) I reported it to the store manager on duty as none of the employees I came in contact with cared to do anything about the incident, and a few days later someone called to check up on me and I told them I wanted to file a claim.

A representative for the claim called and recorded our conversation and said if I sought medical care to call back and they would send out a medical release form for me to sign. I told her that I definitely needed to seek chiropractic care as the box falling on my head and shoulder have aggravated a pre-existing condition. (I realize now that I probably shouldn’t have mentioned that fact) She went ahead and mailed out a form.

Problem is, we just moved here and I have no form of transportation or insurance. I am unable to work due to other health problems, but do not receive disability. We rely solely on my fiance’s income and whatever we need has to wait til he gets off work. I finally found a chiropractor that I could attend as I have multiple chemical sensitivities and it takes some time to find an office that has no fragrances being used, lysol etc.

I have been there at least 6 times now and am doing better, but still require adjustments 2x week currently. Almost ready for once a week visits and hopefully once a month after that.

The store representative had told me if I sought medical care to call and let her know and they would look at my records and see if they would come to a settlement. She said I could go anywhere I wanted for treatment.

Is it common for a company to have you fill out a medical release form that says they can request access to medical records other than the ones directly related to an incident? It’s been almost a month and I haven’t signed the form yet, but she called the other day and left a message asking if I’d received care and to call her. I don’t know what to do about the form?

Should I fill it out and see what kind of a settlement if any they come back with before contacting a lawyer or should I contact a lawyer before signing the form. It looks like a standard, generic accident compensation form for work or consumer. Basically, it has you check a box of what kind of claim it is and then asks your signature for release of any medical records and requires a social security number. That is the part that bothers me most, I guess. I am always leary of giving that info out. I know it is probably standard practice. The store seems to be cooperating currently and appears to just want the medical release form sent in order for them to come to a settlement….. if any.

Again, I do not work and I have no transportation. So money is very limited and time is also as my fiance’ already works 10-12hr days regularly and we find it very difficult to see the chiro 2x week. Trying to also fit in time to see a lawyer would be extremely difficult, but we would do what we need to if it is something we should do instead of filling out this form.

Is there a time limit on filling this out also?
I did not feel there was a need for an ambulance. I was not bleeding. I requested an ice pack which they gave me.

My fiance totaled my car a few weeks ago. He has a non-owners policy on his license, but they said I had to see what my insurance company may do first. They said that because he got injured in the accident in my car (broken arm & ankle), that the bodily injury part of my insurance would cover that. My limit per accident is ,000. There was no other car involved, it was a tree he slid into after a snow storm. I’m having a hard time getting a straight answer from my insurance provider. All they’ve told me is to have him fax his medical bills over & gave me a fax number. How does that work? Will they issue a check for the ,000 to him? Are they just wanting the bills as proof he was injured? Or will they want to only pay the amount of the bills? And will they want to submit payment to the hospital & doctor’s offices? The thing is, he already has good health insurance, that pays for all of his doctor’s visits, etc. But I’ve heard that there’s still the "pain & suffering". We’re wondering if they’ll be sending him a check or how that works. They never asked if he had any health insurance. I’m wondering if they were to find out, would they decide to not pay? They already said it would be covered (this is after the "investigation"). It’s been me leaving them voicemails & them leaving me voicemails, so I’m having a hard time getting a straight answer. I’m hoping someone can tell me how this will work. Thank you, ahead of time!

Spinal Cord injury?

Does anyone know any one that has recovered from a c3, c4 spinal cord injury and how well and how long it took? Im trying not to give up my fiance left me and took my kids. Evveryone else has given up on me

My fiance had his 4th lumbar surgery (this time laminectomy) and now there is a rock solid lump on his spine right above the incision. Does this indicate spinal weakness or is it normal? The docs said they would have to watch for spinal slippage.

Bulging Disc?

My fiance’s brother plays soccer in college. He can’t move his his pinky toe and the toe next to it and the doctor thinks it may be a bulging disc. He as to have test done this week. Is it very serious and can it be fixed?

my fiance has only driving while intoxicated on his record for the past 15 years, bet does have an assault sharge from about 20 years ago. We’re trying to figure out where we can honeymoon. I found that we should be able to get him a passport but the visiting country determines whether he can visit.

Should I get a lawyer for my personal injury?

My fiance’ & I were rear-ended Monday by someone exceeding the speed limit by 80mph. We were going about 15 mph (just pulled out and got straight in the road) The other person was doing 125 mph when we were hit. It of course totaled my car and unfortunetly the other driver did not survive. I still owe about 00 on it so I am sure I will get that much for it. Their insurance company took fault of course & got me a rental car for 70 days. I went to ER that night & all x-rays were ok. I was released w/a cervical strain & a thoracic strain & a knee strain. I have only slept maybe 8 hours total in 4 days, everytime I close my eyes I see the accident, I am working b/c I can’t afford to stay out but my production is going down hill b/c I can’t focus. My neck pain is getting worse & my back as well. I went to doctor yesterday & he basically said I had strains & muscle spasm that should go away. He gave me anti-inflamtory meds & something to help me sleep but that hasn’t worked yet,
last night I still didn’t sleep, and when I do I have nightmares of the accident. My fiancé’ didn’t get hurt but he has images as well so he is going to doctor to help him rest to. We both saw the person be ejected out of the vehicle and fly in front of our car. It’s horrible. People are telling me that I can get their insurance company to give us the value of the car and still be able to settle with the medical later. One is that true? Next question, everyone is telling us to get a lawyer b/c this “post traumatic stress syndrome” that the doc told me I had could last forever and I may always have problems with my neck and back. I need help; I have never been through this before. Please tell me ups and downs and what’s the best way to handle this? At first I didn’t want anything except to get another car. But as times goes on I am so mad that this person was traveling this fast in a 45 mph zone. Our car that was totaled was my fiancé’s late aunts. He wanted to always keep it
because of sentimental value & also so that when we got it paid off we could also use the title for collateral…which we can’t do now. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
