My extremely active 11 yr old male husky jumped over a baby gate in my house and in his excitement he slid on the wood floor and landed on the baby gate taking it down with him, he flipped over the baby gate and got right up and went outside. When he was outside I noticed he was walking a little funny, I didnt think much of it because he had just taken a tumble. The next day when I took him out for a run, he was not himself at all, he was running sideways into trees and bushes, and when he’d lift his leg to pee he would fall down, and he kept falling on uneven field ground. He is also having a hard time with stairs. He hasnt whined or yelped, or stopped eating, I gently felt all over his body and felt nothing, and got no reactions. It seems like something might be wrong with his back, maybe he strained it or put it out of alignment?

Hi, everyone. This Q directly goes to people who are lawyers or lawyers-to-be. Before I ask, I want to make clear that by no means, I hold grudge or hatred against lawyers by asking these Qs. In fact, I know there are many great lawyers in our society who work not for money but rather to help disadvantaged people defend themselves and contribute to this society. I have nothing but the greatest respect for lawyers like Richard Bernstein who is blind personal injury lawyer and works on promoting equality and helping disadvantaged, handicapped people despite his own tremendous handicaps.
As for my Qs, as a person who loves watching CourtTV and "Law and Order", I always had hard time understanding about certain facets of criminal attorneys. I have hard time understanding why certain lawyers would even think about defending murderers, rapists, arsonists, corrupt CEOs, who have done great disservce to society and brought tremendous pains to many people. If I were a lawyer, I would never even consider defending them no matter how much money I am offered for defending them. Just looking at what kind of crimes they have inflicted on other people, I wonder why certain lawyers make decision to go defend them in criminal trials.
My Qs for you guys is two-fold.
1. Do lawyers defend all those criminals who have committed heinous acts toward society because they believe they are wrongly accused or because of money? Why would any lawyer defend people like Scott Peterson, Timothy McVeigh, etc.? Do lawyers defending them truly believe they are innocent or even have some sympathy toward them?
2. I know Court assigns public defender to defedants who can’t afford attorney. How much difference has it made? Did it help in finding defendants who were wrongly accused of crimes?

i have been unfortunate enough to develop a stress fracture in each leg. There has been one in my right leg for six months but it doesn’t hurt anymore and my left leg is killing me, which is the new one i have recently developed. Im very healthy and i run track and cross country and i am having a hard time coping. My doctor gave me pain medication for my left leg but it doesn’t work. I feel as though something else needs to be done.

It has been about a week now. I have been taking Advil and that helps for the moment, but the pain comes back. Also have been using a heating pad. This is terrible. I have a hard time sleeping and getting up from laying down.

Would a chiropractor help?

Ive recently been having severe back pain that comes and goes. Mainly is here more often then not. I have a hard time bending over. Stretching makes it worse. Do I see my family physician and she will refer me to someone else or what other doctor do I go to for this?

My dad is 62 years old and is having a hard time recovering from a spinal fusion. He quit smoking cold turkey the day he went in for surgery, which could have something to do with it. Today is day 13 and he is just now able to walk a few steps and will most likely be in the hospital a few more weeks. He is complaining of an unbearable pain in the lower right lumbar area of his back. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? An MRI shows that all the hardware and fusion looks perfect. What could be the problem?

Is it stronger or anything like that? I am trying to replace a mirror on a box van and I am having a hard time finding the parts. I can however, get my local hardware store to cut a regular piece of mirror glass. I don’t want to risk injury or anything by installing inferior glass if there is a difference.

My fiance totaled my car a few weeks ago. He has a non-owners policy on his license, but they said I had to see what my insurance company may do first. They said that because he got injured in the accident in my car (broken arm & ankle), that the bodily injury part of my insurance would cover that. My limit per accident is ,000. There was no other car involved, it was a tree he slid into after a snow storm. I’m having a hard time getting a straight answer from my insurance provider. All they’ve told me is to have him fax his medical bills over & gave me a fax number. How does that work? Will they issue a check for the ,000 to him? Are they just wanting the bills as proof he was injured? Or will they want to only pay the amount of the bills? And will they want to submit payment to the hospital & doctor’s offices? The thing is, he already has good health insurance, that pays for all of his doctor’s visits, etc. But I’ve heard that there’s still the "pain & suffering". We’re wondering if they’ll be sending him a check or how that works. They never asked if he had any health insurance. I’m wondering if they were to find out, would they decide to not pay? They already said it would be covered (this is after the "investigation"). It’s been me leaving them voicemails & them leaving me voicemails, so I’m having a hard time getting a straight answer. I’m hoping someone can tell me how this will work. Thank you, ahead of time!

My mother fell from the bottom stairs and she hit the left side lower back with the edge of the stairs. She says it hurts to be sitting for a long time and she has a hard time getting up when she is lying down in bed. She says when she moves she feels like something is poking her but inside. Any idea what it could be? I’m a little scared of what it might be.

My husband broke his L5 (in back) a few years back, and while lifting our son 4 days ago he twicked his back. Now he has a hard time walking, standing, bending over, and doing pretty much everything these. He’s missed work because of this. The pain is in his lower middle back. He says the pain is stinging and throbbing. Does anyone know what it could be or what to do? We might go to hospital, but i want to know if its worth the trip!

Last night I fell and landed right on my lower back. Right near my "butt bone". It hurt badly at the time but I was able to get up and move around right away so I wasnt worried. However about an hour later I started having some pain. Now I have a lot of back problems anyway so part of it might just be my regular back problems. I had a hard time getting comfortable last night because of the back pain but again that isnt all that unusual so I thought about it but not much. Now today we visited my mom and before I even told her she told me she could tell my back was bothering me even though I didnt think it really was. When I first sat or stood it hurt a lot more then normal. And walking up stairs it gave me a lot of pain which usually I have no problems going up stairs. Every once in awhile through the day I got shooting pains. But I am really not in that much pain. Can I wait it out a couple days and see I think I just bruised myself up. Or is it worse then I think and I should go in…

disks in my neck. I am having a really hard time sleeping I wake up in pain but don’t want to ask my obgyn for pain pills because I don’t want to make a big deal out of this. I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and don’t want to do anything that will harm the baby. What do you think I should do about this because otc meds don’t work?

I hit a deer in Oct.2005 and totaled my car. The insurance is in my boyfriends name. As a result of that I have a herniated disc on my lower back and have been on pain meds.for it since.I am still working but it is very difficult because it increases the pain.The ins.has been paying for my medical but are now starting to give me a hard time about doing so.They have sent me to a doctor of their choice also whom agrees with my doctor about the difficulty and pain that I am having, could someone help me about just what my rights are as far as what they are responsible for?

my boyfriend has been having terrible back pain from a pinched sciatic nerve for the past week. he has a hard time getting up from a sitting position, bending over and lately hasnt even been able to pick up our 17 month old daughter. we cannot afford to send him to a chiropractor or a doctor so does anyone know of any stretches or homeopathic remedies that would help relieve some of the pain? thank you!
