I have a pain that shoots down my right leg. The doctor said that it is my sciatic nerve and he recommended an MRI but my health insurance does not cover it or not the whole thing which costs over 2500.00 and I do not have that kind of money. Any suggestions?

Yeah I have been in a car accident 2 months ago and he hasn’t called me. First of all we were the victims of this accident. Some drunken idiot was going on the opposite of a one way street and we were running on a green light and we T boned him on his right side of his car. Well it turns out that he isn’t the owner of the car but borrowed it and he also tried to run away(prob. in jail). ok well we got a lawyer and he did get our case.So its been like 2 months now & also called but he could never talk to me only the lawyers helper(secretary?) and she is the only one talking to me. I don’t get enough help from her at all. I have been going to the chiropractor for therapy and that’s all I have been doing. I been wanting to go see some doctor and psychiatrist because ever since the accident I have been getting anxiety attacks and my knees are still hurting even though they didn’t find anything broken bones in me. I didn’t get any help just cause I don’t have medicaid medicare health insurance and need to pay from my pocket which I don’t have any! We didn’t even get a rental car from the other person car insurance. I have lost my job all because of the accident. I have no income whatsoever and haven’t got my mileage from going to therapy. It was 3 of us in the accident and we are still in pain but I don’t see the therapy helping at all. We lost our car and relying on the taxi and bus transit, its not the same
I never even spoke once to my lawyer and he is too busy from what i heard. I am now thinking if this lawyer is only thinking about himself and not about us just waiting to get the money at the end of all of this that’s if we even get something. Sorry for too much detail.

My lower back is killing me! I know I have one or more pinched nerves in my back. The pain continues down my leg. I don’t have health insurance, and can’t afford any programs through a ciropracter.
Thank you for your input. I went to a ciropracter to get x rays and they wanted me to pay 2,000 to fix my back. Is that expensive or is that just average?

My brother’s girlfriend just turned nineteen and had to be taken to the hospital for a ruptured cyst. When taken to the doctor the day after, they said they had to perform more tests which would cost 900 dollars. They wanted the money up front. She has no health insurance and doesn’t qualify for medicaid. What can she do? We live in Georgia.

I was involved in a accident in which I was hit in the front & driver side I was driving an older blazer so It didn’t sustain much damage (00) However the at fault driver was in a much smaller auto that was totaled. My Knee had ruptured blood vessels, Meniscus tears, swelling,Bruising & severe pain, it Buckles & in 1 incident It caused me to fall injuring my knee even much more, I also had mild cervical strain,Right ankle sprain & upper & lower back pain. My PCP referred my to an orthopedic specialist, physical therapy & chiropractor. I have been in treatment for 22 weeks and have been released by PT & Chiropractor, to go back as needed.released by Ortho specialist to return for injections to knee as needed or other possible treatment. I continue to have pain & can’t sleep on right side but am considered as good as i will be. Also in the accident I had my 13 year old son with me who was thankfully not injured, but I drive him to & from school every day, during the 1st few weeks I could not drive and had very limited mobility. What would be a good settlement for these injuries?
The insurance company has paid to have my vehicle repaired. My Health insurance is paying for my medical bills but its my understanding that I will have to pay them back after the settlement.
What kind of injuries would these be considered? (Soft Tissue)?

He said that the check could be picked up tomorrow and called today to say a "lien check" must be done first. We are to call back on Wednesday to find out what happens next. Checks have all been signed from expected settlement. Is this normal? Wouldn’t he already know if there are liens since he’s been receiving all the hospital bills? Wouldn’t I know because they need a signature for a lien? Please help. Thank you.
I have signed all the checks to everyone who is to be paid…hospitals, doctors, in-home nurse, lawyer. I was supposed to pick up a cashier’s check tomorrow from his office. Now, he said he needs to see if there are any liens against me and I have to call Wednesday. I appreciate all the feedback so far.
It was a severe car accident and negotiations were with my health insurance company (according to my lawyer). It makes no sense to me as I was told that everything was over and I only needed to pick up a check and sign some papers. Any further feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We hired an attorney to settle a PI claim from an auto accident. He has/is doing a really crummy job. So bad that he didn’t get the info. to the defendents attorney’s in time for the depostions. They rescheduled because of it. We aren’t happy w/ our attorney at all and don’t know what to do at this point. Wondering about just getting the bills that weren’t covered by our health insurance paid and being done with it. It’s not worth the stress anymore.

I injured two discs and a rib last year in a car wreck that happened here in Florida. It’s a no fault state and everyone is required to carry their own PIP (Personal Injury Protection policy) to cover their own medical bills. The driver at fault pays for the others car and then usually will settle with the remainder that the PIP did not cover. I am tapped out on my PIP limit and now must decide what course of action I must take in order not to have to drain my savings to pay for my con’t treatment. My health insurance is paying its allowance but Im worried this will have an effect on my premium. Anyone have experience in this area?

Doesn’t collision coverage insure you if you are hit by an uninsured motorist? I don’t need any injury insurance because I have health insurance. I am just wondering about the other uninsured coverages.

I was in a car accident about 1 1/2 months after I got my new health insurance coverage. I didn’t have personal injury protection on my auto insurance policy so i’m billing my health insurance for the costs.
Anyways they just sent me a letter saying that the services occurred within the waiting period of the policy therefore this claim is pending for receipt of physicians report.
What does all this mean? Can they deny the coverage?

Several weeks ago, I got into a car accident that was 100% the other party’s fault.
I went to see my doctor and my personal health insurance company (Blue Cross, provided by my employer) eventually paid for the doctor’s bill. Subsequently, I reached a settlement with the other party who paid me personally through the the insurance companies.
In my situation, I was (technically) compensated twice (money to my doctor and money to myself) for the same injury. I was told that in some states, such as Texas, it is not only legal, but specifically allowed to "double-dip" on personal injury protection if the other driver is at fault.
Is this "double-dip" situation legal in California?
Thank you very much for your thoughts and sharing your experience with me.

My 4 month old son’s pediatrician failed to diagnose sagittal synostosis even when I pointed it out to him specifically and called and asked for referrals for 2 weeks. Finally, I switched primary care physicians to a different pediatrician. She recognized it right away and he is going to have surgery soon. How could a pediatrician fail to notice that a baby’s soft spot is already fused and the head is misshapen?
I have never filed a lawsuit against someone, however I believe I will report this to my health insurance company.

my boyfriend has serious back pain .. so bad he’s pretty much on the floor in pain every morning. he is usually lifting heavy equipment everyday. he has a really small lump next to his spine on his lower back and thats where he says all his pain is. he usually has to put pressure on it or lay at the end of the bed. i think it might be a bulging disc but im not a doctor. i feel horrible to see him go through so much pain everyday. we’re both 22 and don’t have health insurance atm .. the only thing that works for him is roxicets which are 30mg percs. i hate to say it but we both abuse them. its getting really expensive for the both of us to buy them off the street. do you think a doctor would prescribe them to him if he has such chronic pain? how get he get these prescribed because even though were addicted..i really do think he needs them if it stops his pain.. also what do you think he has?
ozone sounds expensive .. remember we’re trying to get the cheapest thing possible and preferably meds

Suppose you collide with a vehicle where the driver doesn’t have car insurance. Your damage is already paid for with collision, your medical damages are already paid for by your medical health insurance. Assume the driver only drives alone.

I dont’ have health insurance so I can’t see a doctor for this without it costing more then I can afford. What are some remedies or ways for me to help the pain in my back without needing to see a doctor or chiropractor?
