Herniated disc, unimaginable pain. Please help?!?

I have a herniated disc in my lower back and it goes into my left buttock. I was laying down flooring and it began to hurt very badly. The next day the pain was gone. Then the day after I was shoveling and I must have done something to avoid hurting my back which ultimately was the worst thing I could do. I went to a chiropractor but it didn’t help. At times I have such extreme pain I don’t know what to do with myself, it is EXCRUCIATING to the nth power. I get into a rage and I swear for about 5 minutes straight. The looks on my family members’ faces are unbearable when they see what the pain does to me. What do you recommend to make the pain go away?
Yes, Sheltie Lover, I am no longer shoveling. God knows what would happen if I did again.

I had back surgery (microdisectomy) in january. I’m feeling better now but still feel a little pain. I doubt I’ll go any time soon but I was wondering if anyone has had this surgery (to repair a herniated disc that was pinching a nerve) and get went back into sports or martial arts? If so, how was it and how long did you take?

Herniated disc pain relief?

ive been having pain from my L5 herniated disc for about like a year now?? is this normal?? ive also been going to physical therapy

im 20 and last november my mri scan showed 3 bulging discs and 1 herniated disc on my L4-L5. after months of phisio the sciatica pains were reduced but the initial nerve pain is still there.

Back injury sorry didnt know how to reply?

Sorry Evk I didn’t know how to reply to you. Is your bulging disc a herniated disc? Are you seeing a physiotherapist.

I have been seeing 3 different physiotherapist, & today is my last day they cant do anymore for me. It is very severe, plus, I am going to a specialist on 15th of June, but I thought someone out there would let me know is an operation worth it, as I know of two people in my area who died while having an operation & I’d be scared. Thanks.

4 weeks ago i was stuck in bed because of a herniated disc. Now, this sciatica pain is horrible. It started in my butt and now it has moved to my calf. Is this something that anyone has experienced before? And how long should this last. BTW i no longer feel any discomfort in my back, very minimal. Help please

I’ve been dating someone for 6 months and he has erectile problems. We spoke about it and he kept telling me he was just nervous. I didn’t believe it and started talking to my friends. He was in a car accident 3 yrs ago and damaged his L5 nerve and has a herniated disc-(L45). Could this have something to do with the sexual problem he is experiencing?

i was in an auto accident over a year ago. i hit the brake so hard i broke my right foot. month after month my pain became worse in all sorts of areas. the worst being my low back/tailbone area. recently an MRI showed i have a herniated disc in the lumbar/sacral area. i’m wondering if the impact of my foot hitting the break could have also caused my disc to rupture/herniate? i don’t follow up with my dr. for a couple of weeks and i was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge they could share with me. thank you for your time.

I was in an accident in December. About a week later, though I had no pain initially, I was urged by family to go see a doctor anyway just to make sure. My primary doctor’s office told me that they do not treat auto accidents and they referred me to a clinic. I started experiencing some back discomfort and went to a clinic that only deals with auto accidents, worker’s compensation and sports injuries. Well, I only saw a chiropractor there. Before Christmas, I went there three times, and it seemed to help. The discomfort/pain was a little tough over Christmas, but by the time I got back to town, it was pretty much gone. Then I went back at the beginning of Jan. When I left, I was in discomfort/pain again. I was sent to get an MRI. I go back to this office to view the results, and whoola, there’s a new chiropractor there. I apparently have a herniated disc. I was "adjusted" by him, and on the way home, I started feeling numbness one of my toes. Today, my left leg feels different. They want to see me 3 times a week. My state requires ,000 minimum in no-fault Personal Injury Protection on auto insurance, so I always wonder if they’re trying to milk that too. (There are TONS of commercials propping up that requirement and how much you can "still get paid" even if you’re at fault). I am a young guy who doesn’t really have many health issues (at least before the accident/visit to this office). Should I stop going? If so, if I can’t see my primary doc about this, where do I go?

I am 15 and I am going to have to have one on my L4-5, because of a herniated disc. How long is the surgery? Will it help? How long are you put to sleep?
