Bulging and herniated disc?

For six months now i’ve been in pain from a herniated disc in c spine and bulging disc in L spine. On the mri it say i have a "small" herniation in C spine. Since six months ago the pain has decreased. But i still have pain and can’t do any physical activity. otherwise the pains gets really bad. I know nothing is guranteed, but i’m in my twentys and very scared i might never be the same. At what point can i start being active again? If i take pain killers to block out the pain and keep on lifting will that help? my doctor has me on no lifting rescrictions. But at what point is it ok to lift again?

How bad is a spinal fusion surgery?

I’m 15 and have a badly herniated disc and will probably have to have a spinal fusion. If you have ever had one, whats it like?

So a month ago I was dead lifting and I guess I pushed myself too far and hurt my lower back. After that I was unable to bend down at all. After a week or two the pain has gotten better and I can kind of bend over now but it still hurts and I have to support myself when I bend over. I’m not sure if this is something minor like a sprain or if I just pulled my back. How can you tell the difference between the two and from those two and a herniated disc? How long does it take to get better from this kind of stuff (because it’s already been a month now)?

Lumbar spinal fusion – did you get pain relief?

My husband is 60 yr old, and has some degenerated and somewhat dried out discs, with some a herniated disc. Doc has suggested a spinal fusion. Every surgery has it’s side effects, and we have to decide whether the surgery is worth it.

Please share your experience.

I aggrevated an old low back injury from 1991 due to poor office ergonomics and wearing of the gunbelt has placed major strain on my low back. I presently have 2 herniated disc and 2 bulging disc and will have surgery. Will I be able to perform the same?

auto injuries?

I hit a deer in Oct.2005 and totaled my car. The insurance is in my boyfriends name. As a result of that I have a herniated disc on my lower back and have been on pain meds.for it since.I am still working but it is very difficult because it increases the pain. The ins.has been paying for my medical but are now starting to give me a hard time about doing so.They have sent me to a doctor of their choice also whom agrees with my doctor about the difficulty and pain that I am having, could someone help me about just what my rights are as far as what they are responsible for?

herniated and bulging disc?

i have a bulging disc in my L spine and herniated disc in C spine. I been on no lifting rescrictions for six months and in constant pain. the pain meds seem to help but not completely take the pain away. I’m alway tired even when i wake up in the morning. What is the whole concept behind disc problems. Why can’t i force myself to lift something? the pain is crazy. How long does it take until i can lift again? Is it as simple as getting the disc away from the nerve adn that’s it? Does it ever go back to the way it was before my injury?
"small" herniation in c spine. and small bulge in L spine

I recently had surgery for a herniated disc (L4-L5). I’m in good shape otherwise–not overweight, exercise, don’t smoke, and eat healthy. What can I do to ensure I don’t herniate again–I have two other discs that are bulging (lower back).

What is the depth of penetration of therapeutic cold therapy (cryotherapy)? Could it have a physiolgic effect on a herniated disc as to cause pain relief or repair?

I have a herniated disc in the C4/C5 region and a bulging disc below it. I have tried physical therapy, acupuncture, ice packs, heat packs – but nothing seems to relieve the pain. Any suggestions?

Hi I am asking this question only to people whom have tried decompression with good or bad results. Sorry but otherwise I get either bias answers or people who think they know it all from reading an article. So I really want to here from people who have actually experienced it and what there results are. If you could, I would like to know what it was you were treated for, but anything similar would be good. I am 21 and have MRI findings of degenerative disc disease at two levels with one bulging / herniated disc. I have slight leg pain and get bad muscle spasms if i try to be active at all. I’ve tried nearly every solution out there besides surgery so please do not tell me how else I can fix it, and sorry if I sound rude when I say that, but I am really just looking for people with experience. Last if you do have something that may be way out of the ordinary that you think would possibly help me with this problem, I am very open minded to trying knew things. Thanks for reading…
