I am looking for men mostly who have already had spinal surgery or disc replacements to help give me some tips on what you needed special for after care when you came home. I am looking to spoil hubby like crazy while he recovers. What made it more bareable for you while in recovery? He will be home for a year…Any health products that helped? He will be using a walker for many weeks while in rehab? Any advice is welcome. Thank you in advance!

my hubby got a dwi two years ago in nebraska and he owes 3,000 for a michigan responsibility fee, we have heard there are states who do not recognize this. any help? we’d like to go to another state and have him get a license there.

About a weekend ago, my hubby was driving home and stopped at a red turn signal. It was icy, bad conditions. He waited until the turn signal turned green and started into the intersection when he saw a snow-plow come into view, so he stopped for a few seconds to make sure the guy was going to slow down (the guy had a red light.) The guy slowed down, so my hubby thought it was clear and pulled to go through, but the guy DIDN’T stop and plowed into him. My hubby tried to speed up but with the ice he couldn’t get clear.

The plow showed no damage. My hubby’s car (our family car) had the rear passenger door slammed into place (we can’t open it), the gas-cap slammed into place (we can’t open it), and the front door slammed into (we can open it, but it creaks and pops when we do.) Because it was early in the morning, there were no witnesses.

Because there were no witnesses, the other guy is claiming my hubby ran the red light, not him, and that it was completely his fault. Since there are no witnesses, the other guy’s insurance company is claiming no liability, meaning that we aren’t going to get anything to try and fix our car. They did not look at our car to even try and determine how it was hit or whether that could tell them anything.

My husband has never had so much as a speeding ticket. He has never run a red light (even when I was giving birth) and has been driving for 14 years without ever having an accident.

The other company said that at this point we contact our insurance agent and let them argue back and forth, but I’m starting to think we should get a lawyer, one that deals in stuff like this, and let him handle it.

Do you think we have a case? What sort of lawyer should I look for?
The thing is, it costs nothing to talk to a lawyer and a lawyer who is experienced in this sort of thing would be able to tell us if we have a case or not. Also, there’s a statute of limitation that after so many weeks after an accident, you can’t GET a lawyer, so that worries me too.
I see your point. I still disagree that it was my husband’s fault. We don’t have collision insurance, so this is going to be hard to handle.

As for why he didn’t stop… the fact is he did. He was pulled into the intersection (ie, he was not safely to the side) and saw the truck coming up the hill. He knew the truck had a red light, but he stopped anyway to make sure the truck was under control. So he started his turn, and then stopped to assess the approaching vehicle. It appeared to slow down, so he assumed it was stopping and continued with his turn. If he had stopped and let the truck run the light, his car wouldn’t have been hit… but he would have been in danger of another car hitting him if it had come over the hill because his nose was sticking into the intersection.

When the other driver saw him already turning at the intersection, he should have stopped (besides having a red light.) But, there are no witnesses. Makes you wish every car had a dash-camera.

A Q for my hubby. He gets them in his neck and his back all the time and wonders what they are and how to prevent them. Can someone explain?

Hubby has a spinal injury and when he is in pain..his body tempature rises. He is constantly hot and sweaty and overheats. We are waiting on surgery but doctor said there isn’t much he can do about overheating. Doesn’t overheating in the body cause damage? What damage does it cause? Worried it will start affecting his organs. I believe its from the pain and he has already been removed from Vicodin because we are going on three years waiting for surgery.

What can a doctor do to keep him from overheating? All suggestions are welcome.

(please don’t say go to the doctor..we are there every week and have been dealing with his injury for years..Thanks)
He has two disc completely blow out in his spine

Hubby had trouble with nerve before. Since hip replacement surgery it is back worse, more painful, more often. Has had shots and therapy. No relief. What type of doctor should he consult first? It is affecting the quality of his life.

Auto accident w/ injuries…questions?

So I had an accident where another person hit me from the rear. My hubby and I both sustained injuries and are currently going to physical therapy. Also have other medical bills such as xrays, ER visits, and doctor office visits. I called an attorney and they immediately wanted to help me with my case and sign us on as clients. I know that my PIP coverage will cover up to 2500/person….but my lawyer thinks he can get money for pain and suffering, my medical bills, and my husband not being able to perform his job like he used too(he is a truck driver now w/ a knee injury). My kids thank god were okay and unharmed. I am also experiences alot of anxiety when I drive now due to the fact that auto accidents are one of my biggest fears. I really dnt want to have to pay a lawyer a percentage of my settlement bc I’ve heard of people handling the negotiations w/ the insurance company themselves. What is the first thing I should do to handle this on my own?? If I call them how would I negotiate something w/ them. Especially not knowing how long the physical therapy is going to last. Where do I begin and what should I say to them?? Thanks in advance! This is all new to me.
I have NOT officially signed the papers w/ a lawyer yet….that’s why Im not asking him/her….and of course if Im injured and in a accident that i was not at fault any lawyer is gonna want to represent me…..there is obviously money involved now…..
NO smart asses please….the lawyer I consulted with…not "my lawyer" there…

Hubby will soon have is surgery…wondering on what to expect after he heals.
Riverside, CA Artifical disc has been approved by the government..research it…It is suppose to be incredible compared to fusion.

Back pain?

Im 32 weeks prego with my 2nd baby. With my first I had terrible back labor, starting around 29 weeks. With drugs we were able to hold it off untill 39 weeks. Right now I am having some discomfort in my lower back, it isnt as intense as my first ones back labor, but it is more than a normal sore back… I havent been having any noticeable contractions, but I cant help but feel that this pain is something I shouldnt look away from. I called my doc, and he said not to worry, nothing is happening. It just doesnt seem right. Have any of you gone into any kind of labor without noticing the first contractions, and having this same odd dull back pain? If you think it is nothing to worry about what can I do other than Tylenol to help the pain, I was told heating pads are something that shouldnt be used right now… Is that true? Lying in any positon fails to help the pain. Anything and everything will be a big help.
Hubby cant massage my back, he has MS so he is to weak to massage. (he’s so weak I was suprised we were able to make this baby!) Oh well… any other suggestions?
