Last night, I went for a mile jog. About a half an hour after coming back home, I felt some pain in my lower left back. I put ice on it and took some Ibuprofen, but I woke up this morning and it hurt even more. I took more Ibuprofen, but nothing seems to be relieving the pain. I have an appointment with my chiropractor already set up for next week. Are there any other ways I can relieve the pain until then?

on thursday i bent down to pick up my cell phone and threw my back out. it’s been getting progressively better, but it still hurts to the point of bringing tears to my eyes. i don’t think i slipped a disc, because i’m pretty sure i wouldn’t be able to move.
i also have two bruises on my back now, one on either side of the L5 and S1 joint.
i’m really against seeing a doctor or chiropractor. is this something i can fix with the right amount of ibuprofen and exercise? how long should i let it go before i start to worry?

Age – 92. I have been given vicodan, too strong. I take Ibuprofen 600MG, every six hours. How long will this pain and suffering last? Sometimes I can barely stand. Will it go away?

One year and a half ago I was injured (neck disc injury) in an auto accident. Other person was at fault and cited. I have never, pursued a claim and thought them frivolous and/or exaggerated UNTIL IT HAPPENED TO ME. I was injured without personal medical or PIP on my auto insurance and I had no option but to get a lawyer after a trip to the ER.
Injury didn’t require surgery but lawyer cancelled my 00 steroid shot into my neck, the day of the appointment, to ensure insurance of faulty driver was going to pay it. So I went from Oxycotin for pain to Ibuprofen while they resolve issues.
It’s been over a year since that pain shot was scheduled and canceled. I’m sure it can be a very broad range, but does anyone have a idea what I can expect time wise? This whole thing has been a nightmare and I was just on my way to work one morning.

My fiance’ has a pain in her lower back almost everyday. When i massage it i notice that her muscles are almost rock hard/knotted until i massage them. Her doctor has prescribed her with meloxicam which is an arthritis medicine, the medicine does not help at all any other suggestions, besides icy hot, or ibuprofen/pain meds or some sort of diagnosis?

I injured my lower back lifting weights about two weeks ago. After two weeks it feels much better. There is a slight pain when bending at the hips or driving for too long but nothing serious, just a discomfort. I just find it odd that it hurts a little when I sneeze or when I tense up my abs. I thought it was just a muscle strain, since I can still walk normally and do other activities normally. So i decided to skip the doctor and just rest and take ibuprofen. I have no numbness or pain running down my butt or leg. But I have heard that pain when sneezing is a automatic diagnosis of a spine injury. Is this true?

I had a lower back injury at work after a fall and was sent to pt along with taking ibuprofen and a muscle relaxant. The therapist told me to continue the lower back exercises at home twice a day. But this seems to make my back hurt worse. Prior to my fall, I went to the gym 3x a week, so I am in good shape and used to exercising.

I’m not sure if my back injury is serious or not. I’m a 13 year old girl, and 4 months ago, in one of my basketball games, i took a hard hit and fell on my back awkwardly. It still hurts to this day. When I walk, part of like my lower spine pops…
I’ve tried everything, ice, heat, ibuprofen… nothing has worked, and the pain is sometimes unbearable.
My mom is taking me to the doctor tomorrow, and we were informed that I will probably need and x-ray or MRI.
Any ideas on what this could be? Also, I visited the doctor a day after the game i was injured in, and they said it was like a muscle thing. Except, it doesn’t feel like the muscle that hurts, it’s like my spine…

I’m a basketball player, 13 5’7, 120 lbs., very active. I was at a camp 4 days ago and while doing layup’s my back (lower right only) randomly started hurting. It was durable, so I kept playing. I asked one of the high schoolers for a stretch I could do and he told me to lay on my stomach, feet together, pelvis on the ground, and do a push up like motion. Anyways, it hurt like crazy when I got home. The next morning, I took Ibuprofen, and continued to play. Therefore, it got much worse. The next day, it was hard to walk and pretty much do anything, so, I sat out at camp. Today, it still hurts and I’m in alot of pain. I’ve been putting pain relief cream on it, and heat it at different times. Again, lower, deep, right side only back pain (not on the spinal cord). Have you had this injury before? Personal experience? Please! Give me some streches to do, advice, anything. I need to get back on my feet ASAP. DON’T give me some website you have found unless you’ve used it for this EXACT purpose.

I think I have a pinched nerve in my delta/shoulder muscle, and I really don’t want to go to the doctor. the pain radiates all through my shoulder and I can’t turn my head to the left at all and very little to the right. I’ve tried heat, cold and ibuprofen; nothing is working! >_<
how do i get rid of the pain?
so will the aspirin take care of the right now pain?

My back has been giving me alot of pain (within the last three days)
It’s in the lumbar area.
I took four ibuprofen and it helped a little but after about 2 hours the pain came back.
If it doesn’t stop in two days then I’m going to the doctor, but it just hurts so bad and I’m only 15?

My dad has chronic back pain from his herniated disc and he ran out of his prescription pain killers. His doctor is out of town for 2 weeks and he is to stubborn to go see any other doctor.
Hes in the room next to me screaming from the pain as I’m typing this. I have already given him Tylenol, and Ibuprofen, and he used Icy Hot, but nothing is working. What else should I try? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

First of all, I have had no prior accidents or injuries.
Oh my god. I have had this terrible pinched nerve in my lower back for three days. It has gotten steadily worse and now I can hardly move due to pain. It hurts to walk, sit or stand. I have tried taking Motrin, Tylenol Extra Strength Rapid Release, and 800mg of Ibuprofen. The Ibuprofen did not even touch the pain! I have an appointment at 3pm today, but I was wondering if this pain was normal. I get a shooting pain down both my cheeks as well. Anyone know if this could be a normal pinched nerve, or a slipped disc or something?
