I filed and won a discrimination lawsuit. It’s been a number of years and I am now applying for another job (federal). Part of the application requires a copy of my resignation document. That document in part describes the situation. I am concerned a prospective employer will look at those comments and make a judgement in a negative way. Should I include a letter of explaination? If so what would it say? I am afraid because of it I won’t get the opportunity to explain. Even worse – I should have to explain!

work related injury, employer trying to say its not job related, I pull auto parts for a living in a large warehouse. compressors, batteries, wheel hubs, altenators, radiators, cases of oil, tire rotars, etc. I have a partial tear in my rotor cuff, and its very painful.

My back is the reason that I was released from the Marines in 1997, I have been fighting VA ever since. I had to pay for an MRI myself because they said nothing was wrong with my back, and now the lumbar part of my spine is bulging to the point that it cost me a job at the Post-Office even after I passed their test, urinalysis, and a physical. The reasonable accomadation board at the Post Office said that I was unsuitable to work there, I have very limited income (Disability Compensation 20% for a busted back). Where does a veteran turn to get help for this case?

What is the role of the district attorney?

I have to do this mock trial for school and I was wondering if someone could give me an idea of what the district attorney does? My teacher said that they manage the evidence, but do they only over see the trial or are they part of it? What are some things district attorneys do during the trial process? Just a basic summary of the job of a district attorney and any rules that they must follow would be great.

When I was in a car accident just over a year ago, I suffered a lot injuries. I was hit by someone who was 100% at fault and carries insurance. I was also on the job at the time of the accident, so workers comp has been paying my doctor & med bills. I missed a lot of work and took unpaid time off for doctor visits, physical therapy, etc… I am feeling better, but still not 100%. I am wondering if I should get a lawyer to handle this. I don’t know if I need to get a settlement from the insurance company of the person who hit me so I can pay back workers comp (who has been paying my bills) and pay back my insurance (who initially paid several of my bills). I’m just not sure how all of this works. I was hit in Wisconsin if that makes a difference. Thank you for your help!

I am going through a divorce and it’s really miserable at home as we are still under the same roof. After work, I stopped at CVS and bought a big bottle of rum and 2 2-ltr bottles of diet coke. I was planning on going home, but decided I wasn’t up to a fight. I pulled into a parking lot near my home and called a friend. While sitting and talking I made a couple of drinks. I knew that I would be walking home when the rain stopped. After sitting a couple of hours, cops appeared and proceeded to arrest me for DUI.

I don’t want any of my family members to know about this. I am awaiting a job transfer to Houston. I need to deal with this in a timely manner.

What is the best way to handle this?

I just got a job as a cashier and i’m standing pretty much the whole time during a 7 hour shift, minus the 30 minute lunch break. My MIDDLE back starts to hurt after like the 5th hour. I’m 19 so I doubt I have any back issues, but I was wondering if anyone has any tips that would help reduce back pain? Like exercises or anything really.

Oil formation fracturing requires thousands of gallons of water and fracture fluids. How many gallons of the fluid is recovered after the job is completed? Also, what is the flow rate of the flow back fluid?

I need some information about a back injury where I need surgery. I hurt by back in 2006 on a job, but at the time I did not know, how serious it was. I just thought I was having kidney stones, and I was. But now I know I had a herniated disk too. I have documentation where I seen MD’s for chronic back pain. What I want to know is: Can I go back on this employer for this, under workmen’s comp. or will I have to get a lawyer and file a lawsuit against them. I know that it happened while working with them, because I had no back problems until I worked with their company. I live in Ga, so does anyone know what my rights would be>?

I just got a DWI last night, I blew a .15. I am very sorry for what I did but now the only thing I am really worried about is my job. I have just been promoted to travel around the united states and educate clients. This is in Wisconsin that this happened and it looks like it is mandatory to take away a license for 6 months on first offense. How hard is it to obtain a work license? Should I get a lawyer? If I don’t get a lawyer is the judge going to even listen to my work situation? Any suggestions?
Well I looked into it and I guess im not so fucked.

I will still have to pay 1000 dollars totalish after the court fees and whatnot but then I can apply for a occupational license and put down my work area as every state. If the car rental places dont take it I guess ill have to take a taxi. My main license will be revoked for 6 months. As of now I don’t see a reason to tell my work because I don’t believe they need to know.

How's the job market for patent lawyers?

I have an Msc in electrical engineering and was considering taking the LSAT and going to law-school and hoping to specialize in patent law. How is the job market? I heard the job market is very different for patent lawyers, relative to other law specialties (personal injury, corporate, civil, etc.) due to the limited supply for patent lawyers with specialized backgrounds in technical degrees (engineering/physical sciences).

I just want to know how sound this idea is…

I am in high school, and I am planning to go into neurosurgery. After all of my schooling, residency, and other training, I will most likely get a job in Texas as a neurosurgeon.(seeing as how it is where I live and will be where I will get my license) After I feel comfortable with my skills, maybe 10 – 20 years or so, I wish to open my own specialty center, of course specializing in spinal surgery.

From what I understand, a big bonus to doing this is you make the real big bucks! Notice how I say bonus, not reason…

Yes, I know that it is a little early to be thinking about this far into my future, and I also know how difficult doing this would be, so save your fingers… I just want to know if that makes sence, and it is possible.

As allways, I hope you are all well, Matt.

I am looking at prospect of needing another spinal fusion of my lumbar area of my back. Two years ago I had fusion done at L-4 L-5 level after severe disc herniation. I am now out from work due to disc at level L-5 S-1 having degenerated severely and now collapsed. I work in housekeeping at a busy hospital, and there is lots of bending, lifting, twisting involved with my work. I was able to return yo work with some restriction in bending after first fusion. But that may have contributed to my current problem now.I want to know if my movements will be even greater after this next surgery, and will I be able to even work at my present job, performing same work. What are limitations of this number of spinal fusions? I am male, 45 yrs. old.
