I have been on workers compensation for a while due to a back injury. My doctor has recently put me on permanent restrictions and the type of job I have this will not allow me to go back to work. What happens next? Do I need to get a lawyer or will worker’s compensation handle it. Where do I go from here?

my mother wants to sue a hospital and was wondering how much a lawyer for medical malpractice would cost?

My mother was attacked without a cause by her psycho ex boyfriend. she was choked, punched and slammed against the walls. Luckily all she got were some bruises that have already started to heal. They are fading fast. She did try to defend herself and managed to literally almost bite a chunk of skin off the hand he was attacking her with.
She went to a lawyer and was told that she couldn’t sue for injuries that will heal in less than 2 weeks. his injury WILL take more than week to fully heal. now they are just fighting for custody of my half baby brother.
I don’t understand whats going on with that lawyer but by that logic i could go out and punch your mom and if she is only bruised and heals before 2 weeks, she cant sue for injuries.
I should also mention that this happened in Mexico. More specifically Tijuana.
In a way i know what the problem is already….(its Tijuana >_>) but on the other hand i am not familiar with Mexican laws to establish a valid reason of why she cant get compensation out of that a-hole!
he probably would’ve killed her if it wasn’t because she wasn’t alone at the time…so what the hell???
right i think im coming off wrong. its not that we want any financial gain from that, its just that the guy told us we cant just sue because its a bruise…..and even though maybe all she got were bruises and a swollen face, it was a full out attack on her. and there were witnesses! yet, he said we cannot do anything about it
also, we did call the police but the guy’s mommy came and took him away quick so they never had a chance to get him. i dont know what’s going on down there but it really does seem like somehow, someway, we got the shortest stick out of the bunch and we cant do anything but ALLOW the guy to see the kid when he does shit like that INFRONT of the kid. he’s only 5 :\
please guys forget about getting money for the bruise, that isnt my intent whatsoever even if it sounded like it. my point is just that we cant even sue for assault or battery in this case and i dont know why
yeah -_- think from now on the only thing we’re ever going there for again is just tacos. even then thats gonna be a pretty dangerous trip, lol.

My wife was hurt in an auto wreck. The other driver was determined to be 100% at-fault. The wreck destroyed my wife’s car, and she had to be cut out of her car. Several people have told us not to hire a lawyer because they would take half of her settlement. However, her multiple injuries are taking a long time to heal and there is nerve damage in her neck. Also, her nose was knocked out of allignment, up to the point of where it meets, near, her eye socket. It is not very noticable, but still not good and is several inches long, in terms of what was knocked out of place. I am afraid that her injuries are something we would need a lawyer to help help get a fair settlement for. In other words, the money that a lawyer may be able to obtain may be far more than she might get on her own. Whatever the settlement award is, is not worth the pain, suffereing, and disruption of to her life. However, I want to make sure that my wife gets made whole and that the decision to hire or not hire a lawyer is considered properly.

I was involved in an accident 2 years ago and have been battling with the other insurance company to settle. We have a lawyer and was sent a folder from American family Ins. wanting to go in to our taxes, life history, etc….. The person I hit was proven at fault in arbitration as she pulled out in front of me. I have never heard of such a thing over a car accident. The folder was sent to my lawyer and then sent to us, they sent the same to the other person. Do I HAVE to comply with this? Confused.

I’ll try to make it short. I got into a really bad accident about two months ago — I was driving through a green light, car comes from the opposite facing lane and makes a left turn right in front of me and didn’t yield, we crashed, my airbags came out, injured my left hand and I went to the hospital.
I’m 20, I have a car, have car insurance, a license, go to school, and almost done with a major.
Turns out..he has NO license, didn’t own the car, underage, no insurance, and STOLE the car from a family family. The kid got arrested, and a ticket. The car he was in had insurance but they said since the car was not driven by the insurance holder/person, they are not liable and are not paying for anything at all. basically..screwing me over.
Is this right???? I spent 18 days in therapy for my hand getting burned, my car was totaled, my family has been under so much stress lately, MY insurance had to cover everything and now it looks so bad on my family’s insurance. I never wanted this to go that far, or screw the other person over, but come on… this is just wrong…
My brother got me a lawyer and they are planning to sue the other person’s insurance.
I’m so afraid . what’s going to happen? will I go in court?
is it a bad idea that my lawyer wants to sue them? it wasn’t my choice. I just want this to be over..but I’m afraid.

So there was a fire accident at my private house and burned only 1 room. My question is how can I find a good lawyer for this so it can lead me to the right direction in handling it the right way with no scams that promise that will help you but then might never will?
And when I do find a good lawyer what can I expect? Thanks for your help.
Im in NYC just in case.

Another car hit the side of my car and took off everything including the rear wheel. I suffered injuries which I didnt know about at the time i guess due to adrenaline. I have bruises and a severe headache. The car is completely totalled.
I asked the driver if he was alright and he said yes. His car only suffered minor damage to the left front. I didnt call the police since we both had insurance. Maybe I should have since he started blaming me when hes the one who hit me.
I took tons of photos and it’s clear that he hit my car. I am pretty certain he will tell his insurance that it was my fault and they will most likely deny my claim.
So should I get a lawyer involved instead of taking my chances on my own?

I was in an accident in which I was rear ended. I saw a lawyer and after the case the lawyer promised that my medical bills were taken care of. A few weeks after the settlement I start receiving medical bills from the diagnostic imaging services. I contacted the lawyer and I was told that they mailed the bill collectors a check for less than what is owed and if they were to cash it ( which they did) then they are accepting it as payment for total debt, but they still keep billing me. What can I do?
Thank you

I am without representation to handle my hospital bills and compensation processes because I could not communicate with her over the phone because of my hearing disability. At least that is her excuse for firing me, but the real reason, I guess, is that I don’t have insurance to pay the treatments and there will be little money left if any at the settlement for me or her. I was hit as a pedestrian in Atlantic City four months ago. Bills are coming in. I am willing to handle the matter myself if I knew what to do. I am trying to find a new lawyer but who will pick up a trash discarded by another person. Is there anything I can do?
