I have a T6 spinal cord injury and had a girlfriend at the time of my car accident. This was November 25 of 2007. I’m 22 and have not really had a real date since. It’s driving me insane. I’m the same person and getting extremely strong, I just cannot use my body very far below my injury level. It’s an incomplete so I do have some feeling and slight movement in y left leg but do women care that I have to get around in a wheelchair or is this mainly a psychological assumption that I have about women. The sensuality seems more important than ever as I have been unable to have orgasm in six month. However, I believe I have been close. My right hand man just doesn’t seem to cut it anymore. Masturbation used to get the job done if it came down to it but now it’s well boring. I need a woman for any real pleasure.

I’m 10 weeks pregnant and i kept getting this kinda tugging pain in my left butt cheek, lower left side of my back and kinda up at the top of my left leg. I’m pretty sure it’s my sciatic nerve, but i’m not sure if getting the pain early in pregnancy is normal??? I always thought it was something that happened when baby was bigger?

I am having back surgery Jan 28th – after 4 previous surgeries and a neurosurgeon who didn’t give a crap about me, I have finally got another opinion. The new neurosurgeon explained that all the hardware (rods and screws, ,etc) would have to be removed and redone, and in addition, he would have to fuse 2 more above the previous ones. My pain is excruciating, pain from my butt cheek all the way down my left leg and a lot of pressure in my low back. As of yesterday I been experiencing a great deal of pressure in my anus and is very painful. It is not related to my bowels as they are moving normally. Could this be due to my back problem? Should I call my doctor?
P.S. I have been through everything to prevent this surgery; PT, epidural injections, etc.

I fell down a few months ago, when I fell down I landed directly on my butt. That first week, my lower back hurt. A week later, I felt pain more towards the top of my left buttocks near the pelvis. It seems like pressure has build up and now I’m walking with a limp. When I walk, my right leg is fine but my left leg at the knee seems stiff(or lock)and it seems like I’m dragging my leg. I’ve had my back popped, but that only makes the pain go away temporarily.

I was injured in Iraq the in 2003…since I have went thru lots of treatment….I had phisical theropy, electric some-thing, chropractor, Spinal injections, root sleeve and have seen a neuro surgeon, had 3 MRI’s….the MRI’s say
1. T5-6, T6-7, T8-9, are herniated
it says….the worst is T8/9 it is the greatest…it says the protrusion effacesthe thecal sac anteriorly and abuts the thoracic cord.
2. L4-5, and L5-S have broad based disc bulge with no significant canal or foraminal stenosis apperciated on either…
I have tried to tough this thing out…but at first it was alot of pain with some down my left leg….and after alot of injections I even deployed back to Iraq for a second tour…
Now I have been feeling lots of pain in my chest….like a heart attack….
I am asking for some quality advice…
This injury hurts all day every day…now you add my chest…hip and leg hurts…
I just don’t know what they are gonna give me for benifits…and I just had my 1st baby

A year ago, I went hiking and injured a muscle in my left lower back. I put ice and heat on it thinking that it would go away (and not knowing yet what was causing the back pains) but it didn’t. After a whole month, I tried acupuncture, which made it worse, and finally I went to the doctor who advised me to go for massage therapy. With massage therapy, I began to heal slowly, but not in a major way and I also received chiropractic treatment for 4 months, once a week first, then every other week. During this time, I occassionally felt pain in my left knee and ankle, but about 6 weeeks ago, while still receiving massage therapy every other week, the pain became chronic and now I feel tingling and numbness in my left leg and I can’t take my regular 30 min walk without feeling pain and discomfort.
The X rays of my back showed nothing really out of the ordinary(nothing wrong with my spinal cord) and the doctor suggests I go to physiotherapy and he also said I have a bit of a pinched nerve near where the muscle injury was. After all this therapy, I doubt physiotherapy would really help. Do I just listen to the doctor and go to physiotherapy or try acupuncture again? I stopped massage and chiropractic treament because I wasn’t getting better in any major way. Please help.

I have a chronic back injury, however not sure what is wrong. I haven’t had an MRI yet, but will be soon. I am becoming rather impatient as i am unable to stand or sit for long periods and i can’t do exercise due to pain. Its especially frustrating because it is interfering with my dreams of becoming a police officer.
I have pain in my lower back, on the left side of my vertebrae. I get pain down my left leg, not sciatica pain though its muscular, i also have pain in my left bunion, and i am aware of this pain as i have already had surgery on my right bunion due to excessive pain, and unable to walk properly. I get nerve pain down into my groin, and around the side of my back. I am not sure if all these issues are related, but all i can think, is that they are.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

for about a week and a halve i noticed i started to get pain (and slight loss of feeling) in my left leg while running, the pain has started to travel through my leg up to my lower left side of my back. I went to a chiropractor and he said my sciatic nerve was irritated, but it wasnt sciatica. i want to get back to running and football, and i need to learn how to get it better quickly!
