how to get relief for leg pain from the sciatic nerve
Back pain, groin pain, leg pain… could this be Sciatic Nerve and how do you treat it?
Could anyone tell me if they had the surgery and then still had leg pain and same pain like the disk was still there? It has only been 2 weeks since I had it, but I feel like it didn’t work and made the leg pain worse.
i have been to my doctor and had an mri done and he said that i have 3 bulging discs that are pinching my sciatic nerve and also told me that i need surgery to fix it. my question is… it’s mainly in my right leg and my right hip hurts very badly each time i walk or lie down and in the side of my calve has a burning sharp pain. i understand the leg pain is from the nerve, but the hip pain… it almost feels like it’s in the joint, does a pinched sciatic cause this as well?
I have flat feet, which results in back/foot/leg pain and fatigue after standing still for long periods of time. I do have orthotic inserts for my shoes, but that doesn’t stop the pain.
What kind of medication could I talk to my doctor about regarding such an issue? Something that can relieve or possibly numb the pain but keep me coherent during extended periods of standing still? (like orthodox church services for example, which can last as long as 6 hours during the week of easter)
I have left leg sciatica now from the thigh to the foot that seems to be worsening and makes it difficult to walk, but now I’m concerned anew because of the RIGHT arm pain and weakness, and possibly Right leg pain. But Right arm pain doesn’t make any sense from a herniated Lumbar disk, as far as I know.
I had a Whiplash injury back in August 2010, I having been suffering with the following:
Restricted neck movement, neck pain, low back pain and right leg pain (poss Sciatica root problem) My pains are now chronic and im finding everyday activities such as walking, bending going up the stairs very difficult.
I have been diacogosed with Post Traumatic Stree Disorder and mild depression.
I also have paninc attacks thinking about the accident.
Would I be covered under the DDA act?
I had surgery on L4/L5 and been having alot of leg pain and numb on the other leg. It has only been all most 4 weeks since the surgery. I have to take pain pills around the clock. Is this normal?
I had this type of surgery on Aug 10th 2009, would like to say that this surgery has been an absolute success. Just wondering if there is anyone out there that has experienced back/leg pain? I would love to chat with you as this is pain that can be so excruciating at times you just want to die.
Hi I am asking this question only to people whom have tried decompression with good or bad results. Sorry but otherwise I get either bias answers or people who think they know it all from reading an article. So I really want to here from people who have actually experienced it and what there results are. If you could, I would like to know what it was you were treated for, but anything similar would be good. I am 21 and have MRI findings of degenerative disc disease at two levels with one bulging / herniated disc. I have slight leg pain and get bad muscle spasms if i try to be active at all. I’ve tried nearly every solution out there besides surgery so please do not tell me how else I can fix it, and sorry if I sound rude when I say that, but I am really just looking for people with experience. Last if you do have something that may be way out of the ordinary that you think would possibly help me with this problem, I am very open minded to trying knew things. Thanks for reading…
Hi,
According to a Lumbar MRI I have 2 bulging discs or quite possibly disc herniations in the lower L3 and L4 and some pain that radiates to the leg as well as the groin area probably from some nerve compression. The pain in the back is now bearable but the intermittent leg pain and occasional pain in the groin area is still persistent after 8 weeks. I have been on steroids (Medrol Dose Pack) and OTC anti-inflammatory meds yet pain still persists in those areas. Can anyone help out with any info??? exercises, meds??? anything that might help please.
about 2.5 years ago i began experiencing leg pain and was diagnosed with 2 herniated discs. i was put on lite duty for 18 mos (i wait tables, had to hostess)
after countless docs pills chiros and breakdowns, i felt better about a year ago and retrned to waiting tables. my mri showed that the hernaition had beome a sligt bulge.
i was movin a few wks ago and felt like i may have reinjured the disc, had some low back pain and a little leg pain.
over the past few days the pain has become almost intolerable. im miserable at work, when standing, sittin… its keeping me up at nite
the pain i have now is worse than its ever been and its constant no matter what i do. i recently started a new job and dont have health ins. and even if i did, i know theyd tell me to get off my feet for atleast a few weeks and thats just not an option
i have a few back strengtening exercises i do, but what else can i do for myself?
For the past week in a half i have experienced increased lower back and leg pain,my meds hardly touch it i have already been diagnosed with degenertive disc.what i was wondering is should i deal with it or go see my doctor?i am really tired of this pain i just wonder if there is anything else that can be done.or am i wasting my time?
Butt and leg pain in first tirmester (3rd week!!!!)
Thanks for your reply. What I meant was the doc said it is not possible for pregnancy to cause the sciatica. In fact they said it is porbably a disc. But I am very surprised since it started exactly on the 3rd week and I didn’t have sciatica problem before.
Have lots of back problems. I have 6 hernieted discs(that I know, we have never done an MRI of the thoracic spine). I had a fusion in my neck and I also have a hemangioma on one of my vertebrae that is causing pain. The back pain causes arm and leg pain, my right leg goes numb all the time and then my left leg picks up the slack, making my knee hurt. I am 28 and have been dealing with the worst of this for 3 years. I know this will be a life long battle. All of those that have had chronic pain for many more years then me, what have you done and what are you with pain control efforts? What kind of road am I heading down I guess is what I want to know?
Just so everyone knows, I do work 12 hour shifts 3 days a week at a hospital, so I am pretty much on the run during those times. I have 3 children. The 2 oldest are in school and walk them to the bus stop. I clean my house, do yard work, walk the dogs, Everything that everyone else does. I am not just sitting on a couch crying all day. I have been working on losing my many extra pounds and have lost about 30 pounds and instead of the pain getting better with less weight, it is getting worse. So, basically, I just want to know where everyone has been in a journey like mine.
