My late father was born with one shoulder humped, and was said to be missing vertebrae in his neck. Later in life, he learned that he had only one kidney; he died from unrelated causes. He was my grandparents’ 2nd child, the first boy being stillborn without arms or legs, and hydrocephalus. Their 3rd child, female, appears to have had no serious health issues.

I have a sharp pain in my upper back and have been through the ringer as far as medical tests are concerned. Nothing is wrong apparently except possible nerve/disc damage in my left side upper back. Both legs are really weak and my hamstrings hurt. Is it possible that this is from a nerve issue up by neck? thanks

there’s a girl in my class who used to be a gymnast. She hurt her legs really bad, and has had to have a lot of surgeries, and is going to need more. A lot of people at school are saying it’s her fault, do you think that we should feel bad for her?

How long does it take to recover from back surgery?

This is what the report said when the results of my MRI came back: L5-S1–There is grade 1 anterolisthesis of L5 on S1. There is disc desiccation and vacuum disc phenomenon at this level as well and concentric disc bulge. Very prominent hypertropic changes involve the facets and ligamentum flavum bilaterally. The constellation of findings results in moderate-to-severe central canal stenosis and severe narrowing of the lateral recess and neural foramina bilaterally. Degenerative endplate chages are present at this level. I am only 44 and I have never had any back injuries. I am having numbness in my legs from the knees down and I am losing my coordination as well. Then there is the PAIN! In the last 3 weeks I have had to use a walker to move around. Are there other treatments for this besides surgery? If not how long will it take me to recover from surgery?

I hurt myself while working out months ago and I only took care of it 2 months later by visiting the chiropractor. Now 3 months later, my back still hurt and my legs are twitching.
I plan on starting physiotherapy next week, but I’m wondering if a back injury can cause legs twitching.
NOT spasms, twitching. Like when your eye twitch when you’re tired. Only last a few seconds but happens a few times a day.
Thanks.

What does a spinal injury look like with a dog?

My puppy was hurt but we wrapped him up pretty well and gave him some antibiotics to fight infection, I didn’t know if he would make it but all of a sudden this morning he seemed so much better.
He still can’t walk. And he can’t stand on his own. If I stand him up he can stay that way but after a while he falls.
He rolls around all over the place and kicks all his legs and plays. But when he tries to stand up he just can’t manage it, and he cries. His front legs are fine. He sits up on them. And he even scoots. Almost crawls. He lays down and pushes forward with all his legs.
But he has a lot of energy and is alert, and he is eating, drinking and going to the bathroom regularly. So im not really worried about him dying anymore.

Does this sound like a spinal injury? Partial paralysis? Do I need to get him a doggy wheelchair?

We don’t know how it happened . He was playing one minute in the back yard then something happened and he was yowling screaming and dragging his back legs ,
He is a very playful happy 9 year old shepard cross of medium weight .
He is at the vet right now . I don’t have a very large income and live on a pension ( I am 58 years old and a widow who shares rent with my Nephew ).
I am looking for a used wheel chair for him but do not know how to care for him when he gets home . He will be at the Vet for a very long time ( at least two weeks or more ). He has so much life and wants to live but will no doubt be paralyzed in his back legs .
I really need advice

My mom has Sciatica and she’s getting surgery on wednesday. But right now, her legs hurts horribly, and she can’t sleep. She’s taking the medication, and it’s been working, but once in a while her leg starts to hurt. Do you know what I can do to at least make the pain not hurt so much?

If people have the same number of vertebrae 33 then why are some people taller than others excluding legs

is it because the vertebrae are just thicker or bigger in those taller?

so since childhood and puberty do people just get bigger vertebrae or develop more number of vertebrae as they get taller.

last year this time. They told me I would be paralyzed if I didn’t have it done.My legs were affected before surgery. They feel like they’re in an ocean, a swaying feeling. Will that go away or do I have to live with this? Sometimes I almost fall and I’m real dizzy. I had this surgery in Charlotte,NC.

I think I have sciatica or a slipped disk…my back and legs are in alot of pain…no money for Dr. right now…anything over the counter work for the pain?

i preffer the dogs and dont care too much for the rodents, but one got out of the cage the last night (i didnt close it well) and when i figured out what was going on i noticed that my dog didnt have a toy she had the mouse and when i yelled she dropped it. he wasnt moving at all, but with in 30 min it started to pull itself with its front legs, i was worried that he had broken its back and had spinal injuries (in pre med now) but this morning he was moving one back leg fine and the other he was dragging and the toes were curled. now after work his toes are no longer curled, and you can barely tell but it looks lilke he might me trying to move the thigh part of it. is there anything i can do for it?? i feel bad becase we rescued it from being eaten by a snake and it was half eaten by my dog (who is only 8 pounds) will it continue to get better over tiem, is ther anythingi should do to encourage repair of injury? i know it is a stupid mouse but he looks so pitiful and is still trying

I slipped and fell in december and as a result I have a bulging disc at L5 and an SI joint disfunction. I have nerve damage in my lower back and both my legs which was discovered after an EMG. I am always in terrible pain and have to walk with a cane. I have pain in my back
And both my legs constantly. Some days I can hardly walk. I have tried 15 weeks of physical therapy and nothing has worked. I am scheduled for an epidural injection tomorrow. I was Just wondering how effective this will be and if it will make all my pain go away. Also how will I feel after I have the injection? Will I have increased pain? Will I be stuck in bed for a couple of days? OverLl just want to know if this is going to work and if I will finally be able to get my life
Back. Thanks for all your responses.

Especially the legs? Can it also cause a pins and needles like tingling feeling throughout your body?
