Neck, right shoulder, lower back injury and hunting from a blind now (not able to walk much and cold is a show stopper). Love to hunt but can’t shoot high end anymore, any advise for an old beat up "Devil Dog"?

For about 2 or 3 years now my upper back on my left side has been hurting/tingling sporadically. The feeling is very similar to you leg "waking up" after sitting on it but replacing sensitive with discomfort. I believe its the infraspinatus muscle. When it is massaged it does tend to feel better for a short while. It normally brought on by extended walking (normally in malls and such) or sitting up straight. I do have a lower back injury but I don’t believe that has anything to do with it. Help, I am tired of this pain.

I am 26 and over wt. I have 2 kids and most of my extra wt is in the tummy area. What are some simple diet/lifestyle changes that could help me lose wt? And some easy workouts that can help tone my tummy a bit. Sit ups are pretty much a no go too I got a lower back injury in the ARMY that makes those SUPER painful. I need something that can help me drop about 40 pounds and 3 to 4 inches. I have a year but it still can’t be anything that is so time consuming that after working 40 hours a week it cuts too deeply into spending time with my small children. I know I’m asking alot but something to get me started would be a big help.
Yeah I agree with you I am not looking for a diet so much as diet adjustments and changes. Things that will be good for my kids too. I am not looking for some miracle cure for being over wt but a gradual adjustment in lifestyle that will bring about a positive change. And I don’t have alot of friends or family or money for that matter so this needs to work without lots of money and with kids.

I recently began to have knee pain on bending for which i received acupuncture, the doctor informed me the knee pain was due to a lower back injury caused by stamping my foot hard during exercise. I had a weeks rest and began traing again. but now the pain is down the back of both legs, in the calves and back of thigh, its like a sharp, non-muscular pain, but doesnt seem to be sciatica either.
The pain is at worst when stretching backs of legs and when knee is fully bent.
It doesnt seem to be receeding, should i keep training through the pain or do i need to rest. Icepacks or heatpacks? any ideas?

I tendered my written Letter of Resignation (30 days notice) from my job as a Contractor in Kuwait last week. I was subsequently involved in a traffic accident while being transported to work in a company provided Leased Bus. I sustained injuries which included a Shoulder Dislocation and Lower Back Injury. I am currently out of work on Medical Leave. Should I withdraw my Letter of Resignation pending the outcome of my medical recovery or does it matter as far as insurance coverage and Worker’s Compensation Claims are concerned? Hope there is someone out there who has had such an experience. Thanks!

Ok, I was dead cert that i had a lower back injury(which does go away after I have neurofen) however theres a small doubt in the back of my mind that it may be my kidneys hurting, thought I didnt think so at first. Only because I am quite a frequent drinker at weekend, i don’t drink silly but i do do it often. is there any way i could distinguish if its back pain or kidney pain? I Was sure it was spine/back pain in my own mind as ive had it a few weeks and it only really happens when i bend down or lift something a bit heavy, anti inflamatory makes it go away, do you think neurofen would make the pain go away if it was my kidneys causing the pain? it also goes away after i’ve rested it and had some sleep, and dosent happen randomly only when i bend/move in certain places. the occasional pain does feel dead center of my lower spine, but then again kidneys are actually closer to the lower spine than i thought which is why i got a bit questionable.
I also am trying not to combine the tablets with alcohol since i’ve heard it can be dangerous, I usually use the neurofen gel for my back at weekend if i’m going out. Any suggestions appreciated! Its just i’m not the best with blood tests so i’d like to get some opinions before i forced myself to maybe go the docs.

I have no insurance, but the coverage for the injury I recieved at the work place, which is for a lower back injury. The carrier does provide me with a bi-weekly check, but I discovered that the dental work I need will cost over 00 dollars. I also would appreciate it if someone out there can also answer this other question: I have recently moved from New York to Pennslyvania, and finding a doctor to continue treatment has been difficult. Thus, I have been traveling to and from the doctor’s in NY. to continue treatment as well as benefits. My question is it possible to have the carrier pay for a rental because my car will not last if I drive back and forth for once a month. Please help me out!

2 questions…
1) What are some generally good upper arm workouts to do?
2) I am unable to do sit ups due to a lower back injury, what is a substitute I could use that would not involve lying down on my back and pulling myself up?

I am just getting over a lower back injury from golf and a sciatica I developed along the way, and for the first time in 8 months I feel pretty good. I’m wondering if swimming would be a good exercise for core strengthening, both to help me rehab from my injury and also to help prevent further injury in the future.

I had a lower back injury at work after a fall and was sent to pt along with taking ibuprofen and a muscle relaxant. The therapist told me to continue the lower back exercises at home twice a day. But this seems to make my back hurt worse. Prior to my fall, I went to the gym 3x a week, so I am in good shape and used to exercising.

I turned 44 today. I stand at 5’10" and weigh 245 pounds. I have thinning hair and as a result, I have low self-esteem. I know, without a doubt, that if I can somehow loose about 60 pounds, I would feel better about myself. However, the main reason for wanting to loose the pounds is a healthy life. I am searching for a simple diet. I cannot exercise because of a lower back injury. What can I do? What can I eat without starving?
