How to become a sports medicine physician?

I’ll be heading off to college this fall (freshman) and am really interested in becoming a sports medicine physician after I graduate.

But I’m really confused on how I become one and what steps I have to take to get there.

Like what kind of courses should I take in college, what should I major in, do I have to go to a medical school after like doctors do, and any other requirements that I would need to become a sports medicine physician.

Your help is greatly appreciated thank you

I have a really bad neck pain along with my shoulders that have been hurting me for a long time. And also my joints, not to mention the hips and my right thigh. I’m in big pain! What’s the best medicine to use? Hopefully not a temporary relief ’cause applying ice does that a little. Thanks.

Is an Orthopedist the right doctor for me?

I have a sports injury. Im not sure what is wrong exactly, but I need to go to the doctor to figure it out. I think it is a problem with my tendon (I think I might have partially torn it) and my doctor office doesn’t have a sports medicine doctor so I thought an orthopedist might be the right one even though I don’t think it is a bone issue. Any suggestions?

I know premed isnt a major, but do you have to go into premed to major in sports medicine?
Or is sports medicine/athletic training a completely different major/area of study?
More information would be helpful, thanks!
So if I want to be a sports medicine physician, what would be the best path to take? Any advice or suggestions?

I just got accepted to a medical college and I am thinking of doing my masters in sports medicine. Does anyone know of places that hires people versed in sports medicine?

Can a pinched nerve be related to enlarged liver?

I have been experiencing pain for about 3 weeks on my right side and left side. A little in my back and pelvic area. I did a cat scan without contrast and the radiologist said that the liver was enlarged. My doctor did a bloodtest and one of the liver enzymes were slightly elevated. He checked the liver and it was a normal size. He sent me for another cat scan with contrast because the other one got lost. That one came out normal. I went to the ER because no pain medicine was helping. They did a chest x-ray as well as an abdominal x-ray. Normal. Sonogram was taken and it showed the liver enlarged. Doctor in hospital called my GP. GP said that I should go for an MRI of the spine as it can be a pinched nerve. Can the 2 of them be related? If the cat scan came out normal then why did the sonogram show the liver enlarged? What does it mean liver enlarged? Can it be that that is my normal size liver? If it is a pinched nerve then do I worry about the liver? The liver tests showed normal

I know of someone who had minor surgery but the anesthesiologist gave him the wrong medicine and it cause him to have a stroke. That was 15 years ago and he’s starting to have complications from it.

I was in an almost head on collision yesterday. Yesterday, my knee and my shoulder were aching. Today, the back of my neck hurts very bad. I can’t really turn my head too much. My knee is bruised black and in pain. My upper back has suddenly started aching a little today.

I received medical attention yesterday and the doctor prescribed a medicine for me along wtih painkillers and compresses. How long should this last? And is this factored in as I’ll probably have to sue the (uninsured) driver who caused the accident. What is next please? Thanks.

What is the contemporary medicine approach, surgery? Is vertebrae dislocation a muscle / tendon that has been pulled, and if so can a Osteopath manipulate the muscles/tendons back into place? I don’t have pain but I have scoliosis.

If the doctors or practitioners do something in error, like leave a forceps in you or make a negligent mistake..How is that handled?
FYI – I was trying to find out how mistakes like that are handled in countries with socialized medicine. I am not looking to sue.

I am going skiing tommorow but have back pain from chopping logs on the weekend. I don’t want to take any medicine because I have no time to get any. Any ideas like a way to sleep?

My Husband has a spinal cord injury?

I take care of my husband and my 2 year old child. I am a stay at home mom. My husband will not do anything and complain that I do not do enough. We can not have sex anymore and sometimes that is fustrating but I dont have any energy to think about it anyway. My husband will actually go 1 month before he takes a shower because his leg spasms are so bad. The doctors keep giving him medicine that does not work but they wont change it. They say that it is working. My husband also had bad temper problems and I am at my last rope. I dont know whether to leave or to stay. I have tried to leave before but I have always come back. I am just tired and I can barley drag myself out of bed for our son. Help!!!
My husband was in a car accident almost 3 years ago. He is a T8-T9 Paraplegic. He has been to so many doctors and no one will work with him. He is heavily tattoed and they always give him drug test like he is abusing drugs. They still wont give him anything even for the pain. He has two metal rods in his back and they are actually really close to the skin which has caused scars and more pain. I wish that the docs would listen but they dont…
