I recently cut my left middle finger, almost to the bone, and received 7 stitches for it. I have the pins and needle sensation along with pain on that whole side of my finger. Is this nerve damage? Will it repair itself or will I need to see a specialist? What would a specialist be able to do?

Im still waiting for a response from my injury case claim from my lawyer. She said the insurance company of the other person isnt ready to negotiate yet. He has all my records and bills. And now I have a ugly, very much prominent scar. And permanent nerve damage in that area, no feeling at all.

How long will my dog live with nerve damage?

My dog, Molly is 11 years old and I’ve had her since I was 7, but recently she’s been having trouble getting up and walking long distances. She has a thyroid problem so we thought it was that, but it turns out that she has nerve damage in her back legs and can’t feel her feet. On top of that there is no muscle on her back upper legs just skin and bone. How long will she live with the nerve damage? Her heart and blood are fine btw.

How to fight a bogus personal injury suit?

Last week I got served with a lawsuit – a fellow student (college) was claiming that he had been injured by a physics experiment we had participated in.

I won’t go into the details, but this was supposed to have happened last september. No one even knew there was an issue, and no one remembers this kid hurting himself.

Over the last year, his parents took him to 3 doctors, one even performed exploratory surgery – but none could find the permanent nerve damage cited in the complaint.

The issue is he now has issues with the foot in question as a result of the invasive surgery he underwent. I am concerned that this will be mistaken for a legitimate injury. How should I go about fighting this.

p.s. the school’s lawyers have offered to represent me, but I am interested in exactly what options I have, and what other’s might have. It seems to me that this situation must happen to people all the time

thanks for reading – I hope I didn’t rant too much, just a little nervous…

I have always had a bad back, but things have turned out much worse now. i have 2 herniated bulging discs that are giving me leg and back pain and causing nerve damage and motor weakness. my doctor has ordered that i get an EMG/NCS test, which already has me bugged out, and then i will most likely need spinal surgery! can somebody please tell me how effective anesthtesia is, and if a verterabre fusion will actually work. help me dudes it’s scaring me!

I had a spinal tap August 2005 and have experienced some severe nerve damage from it. For example I get Electrical shocks throughout my entire body when I put my head down or tap my legs, severe upper left abdominal pain due to the nerves being damaged and the area of my back where they performed the puncture is still very sensitive to the touch, and often hurts very badly. The Dr. who performed the procedure used a laparscope and didn’t even end up getting any fluid because he couldn’t avoid the nerves. So if any of you have experienced anything like this I would like to know how you deal with it. I have frequent visits with my neurologist who keeps insisting there is no way to reverse the nerve damage I experienced, I can only receive pain management.

Could I have a spinal injury?

I was in the gym the other day and I got onto one of those rowing machines. The person using it before me left the handle bar up, so I had to reach for it. While I was trying to reach for it, the person rowing next to me gave a sudden push forward on my back, and I felt about two crackles in my lower back at the tail of the spine in the left hip area (he pushed me from the left side). When that happened, I don’t recall feeling any pain.

What was the cause of the crackle in that area? My concerns are that it was nerves breaking or dying, nerves being damaged, bones breaking, bones being damaged, or the tail bone of the spine being moved out of place.

When it comes to diagnosing, what is the best type of procedure to check for any bone or nerve damage in the lower back? I have been feeling some sensations and pain, but that could be due to me stretching to check for pain, as they didn’t really come on until two days later after I did the stretching incl. hyper-extending. Thank you

I had spinal fusion 10 years ago. My whole spine is fused with 2 rods, to correct a very severe curvature.

Ever since the surgery, i’ll occasionally get a pain it my right shoulder blade (on my back). It feels like getting stabbed with a burning hot knife. It is AWFUL.

I know what you’ll all say "go to the doctor," but unfortunately I’ve gone to my surgeon, and a couple of GP’s already. They all tell me "it’s nerve damage", and i should take tylenol or ibuprfen (i’m allergic to narcotic pain meds).

Does anyone else have "nerve damage" pain? If you do, does anything help you out?

I’ve tried OTC pain meds, muscle relaxers, heating pads, and back muscle stretches.

Thanks!
I live in Illinois.

I can’t take a drug called "Lyrica," because i have a history of kidney problems.

To any of you who has has Spinal Fusion surgery?

Have you had any problems after the surgery? Like nerve damage or something?

A coworker recently had an operation to remove a bone spur on her toe. After the surgery, it was discovered that she had neuropathy. She is in constant pain now and is looking at having a spinal block done. The thing is, she did not have this neuropathy before the bone spur surgery. Plus, her physical therapist told her that her has actually gotten worse after the surgery. Is this a case that a malpractice lawyer would take? Or is this type of nerve damage just a risk of having surgery in the first place?

burning, tingling numbness and loss of movement. the test showed signifigant nerve damage obviously where the fusion is but the dr said it’s indacative of another bulge still pressing where it shouldnt. the originall surgery was to remove all bulges and stabalize to prevent this from happening. is it possible that the dr missed some disc peices or could it happen after surgery for no other reason than just a botched surgery.

pain pills but im in a ton of pain and am not getting up. is it necessary to go to the ER? won’t they just give me pain pills? btw im most certain i got the nerve damage from a nurse who hit my sciatic nerve while giving an injection.
no it was pain meds in liquid form that were given to me through injection but not an epidural and i got this shot two and a half weeks ago.
