Nerve pain?

I’ll be relaxing, and all of a sudden a sharp nerve pain hits my hand on my right side, and sometimes my hand on the left side. It’s like my nerves are going crazy. As anyone ever dealt with this, and what could it be?

I had my 3rd lumbar discectomy back in Nov. of 05 and have since had several MRI’s. The first was done 3 months after my surgery. In fact this was the first of any type of imaging after surgery and the surgeon isn’t the one who ordered it. ALL the MRI’s (even today) show "pseudomeningocele posteriorly at L4-5 related to prior laminotomy". Should this have been addressed by the surgeon and fixed? Is this dangerous that I still have this fluid leaking? And can it be causing pressure on my nerves? I appreciate and help!

I had Spinal Surgery a month ago.
The pain started about a week or so ago.
The best I can describe it as is a Burning/Itching pain whenever my foot touches anything.
It is very uncomfortable when I try to sleep, and it takes a good 20 minutes to fall asleep.
Could this be Pinched/Stretched nerves? Or is it more like a fungal infection?

The painkillers I was given was Percocet- Stopped about two weeks ago
Anti-biotics Aphelexalin- Two weeks ago

Thank you.
Also, only the top part of my foot, is very tender.

Anyone have a lumbar laminectomy?

My fiance had his 4th back surgery. This time they removed a section of the lamina in his lumbar spine to relieve the pressure on the nerves. He now has a bony lump (which is getting worse) at the top of his incision. Is this normal after this type of surgery? It is extremely painful when it’s touched and he’s 3 weeks out of surgery. The docs said they would need to watch the stability of his spine after this surgery, is this an indication that it’s weakening or just a normal lump from the removal?

I am 19. For several months I have had lower back pain and some abdominal pain Went to my Gyn, and she told me I was okay. I rarely get the abdominal pain, but the back pain hurts, not a lot, but it gets on my nerves. Please help!

Spinal Fusion and the pros and cons?

I had an accident at work and now have narrowing of the Disc spaces between L4-5 And L5-S1 also my L5 is crooked. It pinches my nerves to my left leg when I stand and sometimes I cant use power in my right leg or it hurts my back. Now I cant drive myself because I loose control of my legs. It is soo bad that I fell in the shower last week and had to stay in the hospital for almost a week.

I hurt my back when I was in P.E. and its a really bad pain. I am sweating because it is sore. Is that a bad thing? What do I do?
I have tried going for a hot whir pool bath to soothe the nerves. Also I always have to go pee since it happened! Is that bad because I have not been drinking much more, although I am quite thirsty.

excessive sweating after spinal surgery. why?

i have Spina Bifida occulta, i had a 10.5 hour operation in july to decompress the spinal cord and detether the nerves. for those that are familiar with the condition i have lypomylemeningecole (sp.) which is a variation of the illness.

it took 3months for the wound to finally heal. in the sense of the skin actually joined. i suffered with intense spinal leaks of cs fluid, infection, and wound bleeds. i take a lot of medication, cocodamol, diclafenic, tramadol, amytriptalene, oramorph and an opiate patch sometimes.

since the surgery when i do any walking, even if its only a couple of feet, i sweat excessively from my face, to the point it literally poors off me. i was on the same medication prior to surgery and didn’t sweat anymore then usual. i find this situation highly embarrassing, i wont go outside unless i have to as i hate people making very rude and unfair comments about things they and even i don’t understand. ive seen 3 doctors who don’t know what the cause is and therefore don’t know how to treat this. has anyone experienced this before or does anyone have any idea as to what the issue might be. ive tried researching on the internet and have come up with nothing. if i do go out, i carry a towel with me and can guarantee that within a couple of hours its drenched. it seems the sweat is on my face and my shoulders. but not in the underarms or hands which is where most people get it. anyone got any ideas?
i was treated by a neurosurgeon and orthopedic consultant aswel as a GP. Ive only had temperatures related to the recovery of surgery. I live in england so obvisouly its not a hot country. and the reson ive asked people on yahoo answers is that my doctors are at a loss as to what it is and if someone who reads this has had a similar experience then it would be helpful to know what they did to overcome this issue. ive stopped taking all the medication together and only taken the ones that i feel i need at certain times. i have been doing this for over 3months now.

I live in canda,I suffered back injury at a bar resort this was over 5 years ago can i still sue for pain and suffering..I was a bartender and was asked to move beer and other heavy boxes around ,I had suffered a great pain on boht my left and right side of bacdk in the muscle it seems my muscle was bleeding on the insides putting pressure on nerves

I had a spinal tap August 2005 and have experienced some severe nerve damage from it. For example I get Electrical shocks throughout my entire body when I put my head down or tap my legs, severe upper left abdominal pain due to the nerves being damaged and the area of my back where they performed the puncture is still very sensitive to the touch, and often hurts very badly. The Dr. who performed the procedure used a laparscope and didn’t even end up getting any fluid because he couldn’t avoid the nerves. So if any of you have experienced anything like this I would like to know how you deal with it. I have frequent visits with my neurologist who keeps insisting there is no way to reverse the nerve damage I experienced, I can only receive pain management.

Just curious because I heard the nerves are in the back and the nerves affect your brain.

My sister’s back ( right below her shoulder blade) popped while picking something up and now she gets pain and bouts of shortness of breath… what would cause this? anyone have any idea what she injured nerves, tendons etc that would cause the shortness of breath?
