The organs there are the left kidney, small intestine, and the descending colon. Thanks

I’m writing a story and I’m having a bit of trouble with the medical part of it. A character was shot in his left side. He’s not going to die, but I would like to know what organs or major veins might cause a problem, or if they might run into any complications during surgery. Thanks!

My spinal cord was damaged (pain and numbness have improved, but continued for 9 months-now)
I have had 1 kind painkiller, forget the name, but I’m worried about long term damage to organs? and i don’t know if it will ever recover. It’s already been 9 months. (hit hard by soccer-ball in throat)

Dog with mysterious spinal injury?

My dog started having some issues Thursday night with not walking around as much (she’s a very hyper, healthy girl) and so I stayed up with her and she got progressively worse till I convinced my mom to take her to the vet. They ran all kinds of tests on her and concluded that she must have hurt herself somehow and gave her a shot of buprenex and sent her home where she did not move (we never left her alone at all) for over 24 hours to the point of urinating on herself. She would only eat peanut butter off a spoon and would only drink water from a ladle held under her mouth, but drank at least two bowl fulls total. The vet kept telling us it could be up to 24 hours before she started getting up, but she didn’t, so we took her to the vet again today and they ran a ton more tests and said all vitals are perfect and all organs are perfect but she has one area on her spine that looks swollen and hurt so they’re trying steroids tonight and transferring her back to her regular vet tomorrow to make sure it’s working. She can now walk a little with assistance when forced and all legs are functioning. She’s also much more alert but obviously in severe pain. But I have no clue what could have happened to her-she’s NEVER once in her entire life been outside without a leash or anything and she’s our only dog, so how in the world could she get hurt? The only thing we could think was she fell down the stairs. And what can I do to help her heal? Does she need a doggie wheelchair or a sling or something while she recuperates? She’s a big dog (55 pounds) and that’s a lot of weight for her to have to support. Maybe I could do some type of physical therapy or massage therapy?

Hubby has a spinal injury and when he is in pain..his body tempature rises. He is constantly hot and sweaty and overheats. We are waiting on surgery but doctor said there isn’t much he can do about overheating. Doesn’t overheating in the body cause damage? What damage does it cause? Worried it will start affecting his organs. I believe its from the pain and he has already been removed from Vicodin because we are going on three years waiting for surgery.

What can a doctor do to keep him from overheating? All suggestions are welcome.

(please don’t say go to the doctor..we are there every week and have been dealing with his injury for years..Thanks)
He has two disc completely blow out in his spine

I have recently started drinking alot more water after a long period of not having drank as much as I should have. I go through this evey few months or so. After a few days of drinking water, I begin to feel pain in my right side, underneath my ribcage, more towards the back. I don’t know if it’s one of my kidneys or my liver or what. The pain can be pretty strong; it usually happens after I’ve consumed quite a bit of water (nothing too extreme, though), and sometimes lasts the better part of a day. Is it just one of my organs detoxing?
