I have several injuries. A couple of herinated discs in the lower back and one in my neck and Scoliosis in the upper back where my lungs are. Right now, I have tried several types of meds but it does not seem to do much. The ones that help increase my pain twice as much as I start with so I had to get off them. All I’m asking is for a recommend brand or name of over-the-counter meds I can take.
By the way, the reason I’m asking for OTC vs. other prescription drugs is because I have taken almost all different types. My doctor even told me to get off heavy prescription or he was going to send me to rehab.

Recently my son’s car was damaged while parked. The insurance company (Liberty Mutual) sent a representative to evaluate the damage and referred him to a particular body shop. Today we received a check, minus the 0 deductible for collision. My husband and I were under the impression that damage sustained to a parked car was considered OTC. It is, after all, not the owner’s or driver’s fault. Can anyone answer this? Thanks you.

I had spinal fusion 10 years ago. My whole spine is fused with 2 rods, to correct a very severe curvature.

Ever since the surgery, i’ll occasionally get a pain it my right shoulder blade (on my back). It feels like getting stabbed with a burning hot knife. It is AWFUL.

I know what you’ll all say "go to the doctor," but unfortunately I’ve gone to my surgeon, and a couple of GP’s already. They all tell me "it’s nerve damage", and i should take tylenol or ibuprfen (i’m allergic to narcotic pain meds).

Does anyone else have "nerve damage" pain? If you do, does anything help you out?

I’ve tried OTC pain meds, muscle relaxers, heating pads, and back muscle stretches.

Thanks!
I live in Illinois.

I can’t take a drug called "Lyrica," because i have a history of kidney problems.

disks in my neck. I am having a really hard time sleeping I wake up in pain but don’t want to ask my obgyn for pain pills because I don’t want to make a big deal out of this. I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and don’t want to do anything that will harm the baby. What do you think I should do about this because otc meds don’t work?

I am 15 years old with degenerative disc disorder/extreme back pain. I can barley do day to day activities. i have tried anti-inflamitory drugs both OTC and prescription, with no help at all. Do you think i could be prescribed painkillers? I am not trying to just get messed up on them or anything i can barely walk anymore.

Disc Herniation and leg pain???

Hi,
According to a Lumbar MRI I have 2 bulging discs or quite possibly disc herniations in the lower L3 and L4 and some pain that radiates to the leg as well as the groin area probably from some nerve compression. The pain in the back is now bearable but the intermittent leg pain and occasional pain in the groin area is still persistent after 8 weeks. I have been on steroids (Medrol Dose Pack) and OTC anti-inflammatory meds yet pain still persists in those areas. Can anyone help out with any info??? exercises, meds??? anything that might help please.

A co-worker’s wife has a pinched nerve in her back, that otc pain relievers aren’t helping and physical therapy isn’t working either. Any ideas? She doesn’t like taking heavy duty meds because of her job.

How do I get rid of temporary lower back pain?

My lower back has been hurting for about a week now. How do I get rid of the pain without having to go to the chiropractor? I’ve been taking OTC back pain relievers, and they seem to help a little bit. Do you have any alternatives. I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
