If it’s a civil case for personal injury let’s say, how often would the lawyer contact their client or meet with them?

My husband and I are about to possibly enter into contract with a business and it involves are large investment. Before signing off to anything, I want to have the contract that was given to us put into layman’s terms and to protect our interests as well. Is there a special kind of lawyer ( like there is for family, personal injury, etc.) who can read this over as an unbiased professional and better explain the terms to us? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

chiro for the last 3 months what is the average settlment for personal injury?

I lost my national non-progit organization’s office and contents in a gas-leak fire and my personal injury doesn’t want to address the issue…. The fire was due to a corroded, out of code gas pipe which caused the building to explode (with me inside!) and is going to jury…. gas company came twice and didn’t find the leak… any advice? I need money to restart my organization…any advice for that?? thankx

I am scheduled to testify at a deposition for a personal injury/auto accident. I am the injured person. I am just curious to know what happens at a deposition. Has anyone ever testified at one? How long does it take? I did a little research and I have read that they can sometimes be really drawn out and unpleasant.

I was in a car accident in December. The police placed me at fault, and I have requested a court date to contest the ticket. (The cop actually told me that he had to give a ticket because the other party claimed pain so that the injury could be documented). My insurance company called me today to tell me that the other party has obtained a lawyer to pursue an injury claim. I have also been seeing a doctor for treatment. I am in a no-fault PIP state. Do I need to hire a lawyer to handle the ticket and/or the personal injury, or will my insurance company represent me for the personal injury part of this ordeal?
I was told about the lawyer hire by MY insurance company. I have not received anything from the other party’s attorney (yet).

In October I was in an auto accident that was not my fault, the responsible party didn’t have insurance but I did including personal injury. My daughter had minor neck injuries and I took her to the hospital. The charges were approved and paid. This week a bill collector called and said the insurance company requested the money back and would tell me nothing more, they told me to call my insurance company (who I cant reach right now) why would this happen?

Who has an Underinsured Auto Policy with American Family Insurance Company, that has experienced a documented, legitimate personal injury, with a permanent loss of rom, surgery with fusion,etc, and has received low ball offers to settle ? New York. Every time I call him with a question he is very dismissive and in a rush, and barely lets me finish talking before hanging up.
I am getting fed up with the arrogance, and I am wondering:

1) Why do personal injury and car accident lawyers act as if they are doing ME a favor by handling my claim? Am I missing something here?

2) The only reason I have not fired him and gotten another lawyer is because a)most lawyers act alike, anyway, so there would be no point in switching. b)This man has had my case for three years now, and I don’t want to go through the hassle of finding another lawyer and dealing with new paperwork.

My wife was hit by a car crossing a street. The car was obviously at fault, but it did not stop… so it was a hit and run. An ambulance and ER visit was needed.

What insurance should be paying for these costs? I paid my health insurance ER visit copay at the hospital but they said my auto insurance would likely cover it and the other costs?

I called my auto insurer and they said they will cover it under personal injury…. and it doesn’t sound like there’s a deductible involved. I’m afraid however that it will raise my rates.

My questions…
Do you think my rates will be raised if I go through my auto insurance?
If so, can I go through my health insurance instead? Or will my health insurance just say it needs to go through auto anyways?
Is an ambulance ride covered by one or the other, or both?

There is not an option of me paying it myself in either scenario. It would either be health or auto. But I don’t want to use auto, unless there is no other option as they may raise rates… which is one of my questions. Health insurance would obviously not raise my rates since it is through my place of my employment.

This is in regard to personal injury/auto accident/severe trauma/possible medical malpractice regarding my daughter. Have a very serious case and want the very best lawyer, but I don’t know what questions to ask or how to choose one.
