I have just gotten a dwi in Minnesota, my first one as well. cop pull me over, and give me a breath test, my result is .09 which is over the limit( .08) . i also wont be able to drive for 90 days. is it a wise decision to get a lawyer? or is a lawyer/attorney not worth the time and money. If i plea guilty for my case, how much will I be paying the court? What will i face if i plea quilty, jail time maybe?

My friend got a DUI last night and passed all the road sobriety tests and stuff but blew over. He is considering getting an attorney to get a plea bargan or something to reduce the charges.. But do they have to read you your Miranda Rights when they cuff you and put you in the car? because the officers didnt. so could the charges potentially be dropped completely? What should my friend do?

He is being sued by his friend who was in the car and the mother who wasn’t. Basically saying it was intentional. It was an accident in Dec. of ’07. My son can’t afford a lawyer and has to have a motion or plea by this Wed. the 15th. Who does he plea to the court or the suers lawyer?
At the time the only insurance he had was on the car only through the finance company. He had just started a new job and was waiting for payday to get the other insurance. I need to find out who he needs to file his plea with the court or the lawyer for the friend. the mother is even suing stating she witnessed the accident which she did not. there were no citations issued and no other vehicles involved. it was just an accident due to bad tires. she has already lied to her lawyer by saying she witnessed the accident and police report says she came up on it after the fact. So who does he plea to court or their lawyer?

The pedophile had felony charges regarding an eight year old and child pornography on his computer. They plea bargained it down without notifying the victims and he didn’t have to register as an offender. They video taped the child’s testimony and it was strong. Can the district attorney ethically do this?

difference between a dui lawyer and a public defender..

everyone says get a lawyer itll be less fees but if its less fees now I have an attorney fee to pay..whats the best advice.. and I already know to not drink and drive, and yes it could have been 100 times worse, now Im thinking how to fix this terrible situation .jail is not the kinda life i am accustumed to… help public defender or lawyer? I know my bac was over the limit I just dont know by how much, so should i even fight/ plea guilty..no contest??

Ok, First I need to know how to get a continuance for trial on my behalf without a lawyer. I have trail in two weeks and I’m not ready for court. I currently do not have a lawyer however I’m thinking about apply for a public defender one week before trial. The 1st offense DWI / speeding accusations happened in St Tammany Parish. I live in New Orleans. Do you think the public defender’s office will accept my application one week before trail? My grandmother was trying to get me a lawyer but it did not happen due to insufficient funds. What is the chances of me winning a case from refusing the breathalyzer IN ST TAMMANY? Should I ask the clerk to put me on the docket the day before trail and plea guilty under 894? If the Judge gives me probation will it transfer over to Orleans Parish. I did not drink that day, not even one alcoholic beverage. I was tired very tired I worked a 14 hour shift that day(this is not my defense). So I might look or sound slightly impaired on the police officer’s dash cam. There’s reasons why I did not take a breath test and I will explain the reasons to my lawyer only, I have no comments on an open case.
Also while I was in court for my plea I received a parking ticket that I failed to pay. The parking ticket is months old now. What do the courts do about an unpaid parking ticket in St Tammany? Issue warrants? Suspend my license?

My friend is in jail today for driving drunk. The police officer said she will be transfer over to a courthouse tomorrow morning and I was wondering if they will make her plea or will it just be a meeting with the judge to arrange a court date? When does she have to plea and how would she plea? Not guilty, guilty? How much money will this end up costing her? This is her first offense. Will her license be suspended?

I got a dwi with a .08 BAC.. the fact that i did drink and drive is wrong! the fact that i had 1 or 2 drinks doesnt matter right? i want to do the right thing and not waste my energy and faith by getting a lawyer trying to prove that i was not guilty, even when inside i do feel guilty, its against the law and everyone knows the drinking and driving does no good to anyone. so i am going with my gut and conscious and plea guilty.

okay i was in ulster county new york (im from the bronx) visiting my friend in college.. we went to a party.. long story short.. i was pulled over on my way back to my friends dorm took a breath test and blew a .11.. now i have to go to court january 8th to face a dwi.. i have a clean criminal record, clean license, what can i expect? i found a lawyer up there that said he can try to get me a plea for a lessor charge for 0.. any advice?
I failed 5 of 6 field tests i dont think i can even pass those sober..

I got a DWI a few days ago in new jersey. I have to be in court for tomorrow. My boss is helping me get his lawyer to take my case. I was told that tomorrow is basically the arraignment and the actual case will be at a later date. I was told not to plead guilty to anything and tell the judge "My lawyer would like to enter the plea on my behalf." Does this sound like the correct thing to say?
