A lawsuit has been filed against me for the purchase of an item. I paid for the product but it was all in cash and I have no proof. I recieved a notice in the mail that I have certified mail that needs to be picked up. What happen if I don’t pick it up?

The case involves a lawsuit over a noncompete clause in a contract. The case has already gone to a judge, but there is no ruling yet. Should I tell the opposing lawyer? The lawyer of the lady who lied? I have written proof and witnesses who should be able to corroborate my evidence. This lady is a habitual liar and also my wife’s business partner. How should I proceed?

Collision insurance question?

My boyfriend dropped his collision insurance on a vehicle that is paid off but still worth about ,000 (trade in). He was just in an accident (not his fault, the other driver was ticketed) and his estimate is around 00 to fix the damage. We understand that because he has no collision his carrier will not cover the damage until the person at fault’s company assesses the damage and approves the estimate.

Will he have to pay for the repairs up front and get reimbursed by her company directly? Is the person at fault obligated to pay for the damages at all if he has no collision? Remember, she’s been ticketed so proof is there that the accident was her fault.

Also, his limit for renting a car is /day. Who pays the difference if he rents one for more than that?? Does her insurance company,or will he have to pay for that out of pocket?

Our son was killed in a hospital and unfortunately those responsible are getting away with it. Really need to find help in filing first documents to get ball rolling. Don’t want any money but we must get some kind of justice for our darling boy and we feel we must bring this hospitals screwups into the light of day to protect current and future patients. And yes i have proof just can’t get any lawyer interested not enough possible cash in it for them. Just need pointed in right direction and access to legal documents and filing fees.

What can I do about my former lawyer?

In 2002 I had an accident claim. The lawyer & doctor had this deal that the lawyer would take her cut & the doctor’s cut (pay him directly), then I’d get the rest of the settlement. Lawyer never gave me proof of payment. Last year I was contacted by collections for this balance. After several calls, my lawyer said she’d handle it & I asked for the copy of a cashed check again, which never came. Last month I was denied credit, got a copy of my report, this 00 bill is on it.

For over a month my lawyer has refused to speak with me. I’ve spoke with 2 paralegals who give me different answers about getting a copy of this. One said it was ordered & would be in within 2 weeks, 3 weeks later another tells me it was never ordered. Collections has told me she contacted them last year & would send the copy of a cashed check, which she never did. Now I’m lost at what to do. I’m convinced it was never paid. Is there anything I can do besides filing a complaint with the board?

Thanks.
Wanted to add I’m aware how dumb it was to work with a lawyer who worked directed with a doctor…in my defense I was 19 at the time & my father had me convinced it would work out better that way. I’m totally aware what an idiot I was & that I didn’t help the situation at all, but I’m trying to dig my way out of this mess now. Thanks again.

My fiance totaled my car a few weeks ago. He has a non-owners policy on his license, but they said I had to see what my insurance company may do first. They said that because he got injured in the accident in my car (broken arm & ankle), that the bodily injury part of my insurance would cover that. My limit per accident is ,000. There was no other car involved, it was a tree he slid into after a snow storm. I’m having a hard time getting a straight answer from my insurance provider. All they’ve told me is to have him fax his medical bills over & gave me a fax number. How does that work? Will they issue a check for the ,000 to him? Are they just wanting the bills as proof he was injured? Or will they want to only pay the amount of the bills? And will they want to submit payment to the hospital & doctor’s offices? The thing is, he already has good health insurance, that pays for all of his doctor’s visits, etc. But I’ve heard that there’s still the "pain & suffering". We’re wondering if they’ll be sending him a check or how that works. They never asked if he had any health insurance. I’m wondering if they were to find out, would they decide to not pay? They already said it would be covered (this is after the "investigation"). It’s been me leaving them voicemails & them leaving me voicemails, so I’m having a hard time getting a straight answer. I’m hoping someone can tell me how this will work. Thank you, ahead of time!

my attorney switched side on me to help the casino in my trial, and violated my civil rights. I have proof in that things happened that was not followed according to the oath he took from the State Of
Texas. There is Malpractice in his actions.

I was in an auto accident where the other driver ran a stop sign. She was issued the ticket and declared at fault, I have a witness who has given a recorded statement to the insurance company to that fact and also on the report for the police. My two small children were in the car but the main impact was on my side and door. I went to the hospital as soon as I could after (when husband came home because my car was towed) Damages on car are 6,000.00 and so far it looks like med bills will be over 3000 easy. I have an MRI next week but we think it is a bulging or herniated disc in my back. I also had whiplash and head problems from head hitting window (nothing serious, but blurred vision and headaches). I have been out of work 3 wks already and can’t do much at home ( I am a homemaker by day and hair stylist by night and weekend) I can’t stand for long or even sit up for long. Anyone know what we can expect?
I am not looking to get rich but I am looking for what is fair. This was completely the other drivers fault and I have proof in the form of a witness and her ticket. My father is a lawyer but he doesn’t do this sort of case much anymore so he said he would refer me to someone if he thought we would be better off than with just the insurance company.

Can a lawyer who was hired to handle your case, leave you seeking your own medical treatment, because the insurance wont pay? if you have proof of an injury should the lawyer make the insurances pay?

Auto Accident Personal Injury Claim Help?

So, I was driving home, when a girl came speeding around the corner in my apartment complex on the wrong side of the road. Long story short, it got ruled 100% her fault. Now I ended up doing 6 months of chiropractic visits and 2 months of physical therapy. I don’t feel different and I am going to have permanant back and neck damage (not severe just not comfortable to be on my feet a long time, sleep, or do strenuous activities, I’m a Chef). That’s not it. My wife was about 37-38 weeks pregnant, and we went to a doctors visit a couple hours after the accident. She wasn’t in the car, but freaked out when she heard the accident and came out of the apartment and saw it was me. The doctor diagnosed her with preeclamsia (high stress during pregnancy) because of the accident and had to induce her that night. The drugs slowed the baby’s heart rate, so they had to give a c-section. They only offered k to start and they say my wife doesn’t matter because she wasn’t in the car. suggestions?
So to answer a few questions.
First of all both the cars were totaled. I have soft tissue damage, and my back seems to mis-align easily. I had not had any health problems prior at all. I only went to the chiropractor that long because my insurance said to just see if it helps, even though I told them 2 months into it that it hadn’t helped. I had visits 3 times a week. An IME was done, and they said to go to 10 visits of PT and if that didn’t help they may have to rule it as a permanant injury. Though, to get proof, what should I do? It was ruled 100% her fault so it doesn’t really matter with my policy. The medical bills were probably about 00 total. I most likely can get a letter from my wife’s OB which was also the on-call doctor, saying it was related with the accident. When we went in that day, thats when she was diagnosed, the OB actually asked what the hell happened that day. Do you think that would do the trick? Sry if I missed a question but I’ll try to answer any more. Th

Injured on the job, company cover-up, false documentation, rights violations, ignoring doctors orders, trying to make me work while injured, etc. Big International company. I have the proof and evidence.

why do you think lawyers tells you to call them only if it wasnt your fault 99.999999%- because they know they will get paid good money, so why call them when you know its not your fault and you will get your money from the insurance company, I think its only if you want to share your money with them
I mean if you have proof (police, witnesses, ect…) that it wasnt your fault if some of you dont get it

I have a 8 month old daughter. Her biological father has not been around since i was 3 months pregnant. He is not on the birth certificate. I left him due to him being an alcoholic… proof (he was arrested for DWI). I want to get him to sign over his rights, but I don’t want to pay a lawyer’s fee. What is the cheapiest and easiest way to do this?
