I was involved in a 3 car accident. The car behind me hit me twice (once on the back right and once on the side as he swerved and lost control) causing me to hit the car in front of me. I was driving my dad’s car for the summer because I’m doing an internship away from home. Since my dad’s car is useless now, I needed to get a rental car. I would also like to get some medical expenses covered because I am experiencing back and neck pain. My questions are: Will the other person’s insurance cover the cost of the rental car although the car is not mine but I am the one using it for the summer? And should I get a lawyer to handle this situation? (Also, my dad is 8 hours away from here and the car is still in the tow lot since I am staying at an extended stay hotel and have no where to keep the car.)

Lazy lawyer and car accident questions.?

Yeah I have been in a car accident 2 months ago and he hasn’t called me. First of all we were the victims of this accident. Some drunken idiot was going on the opposite of a one way street and we were running on a green light and we T boned him on his right side of his car. Well it turns out that he isn’t the owner of the car but borrowed it and he also tried to run away(prob. in jail). ok well we got a lawyer and he did get our case.So its been like 2 months now & also called but he could never talk to me only the lawyers helper(secretary?) and she is the only one talking to me. I don’t get enough help from her at all. I have been going to the chiropractor for therapy and that’s all I have been doing. I been wanting to go see some doctor and psychiatrist because ever since the accident I have been getting anxiety attacks and my knees are still hurting even though they didn’t find anything broken bones in me. I didn’t get any help just cause I don’t have medicaid medicare health insurance and need to pay from my pocket which I don’t have any! We didn’t even get a rental car from the other person car insurance. I have lost my job all because of the accident. I have no income whatsoever and haven’t got my mileage from going to therapy. It was 3 of us in the accident and we are still in pain but I don’t see the therapy helping at all. We lost our car and relying on the taxi and bus transit, its not the same :( I never even spoke once to my lawyer and he is too busy from what i heard. I am now thinking if this lawyer is only thinking about himself and not about us just waiting to get the money at the end of all of this that’s if we even get something. Sorry for too much detail.

Car Accident Injury & Do I need a Lawyer?

I was in a MVC on 12-19-07, I was hit on the passenger side rear, spun multiple times befor stopping. I suffered bruised ribs, hip, and a Lumbar strain. The Other driver had ran a red light when she hit me. She left the sceen, but returned later to recover her license plate. She told the Officers that she was asleep at the wheel, and didnt know what she hit, so she left. I went to the ER, and was released. Her insurance Company is covering the car repairs, a rental car, and my medical bills. I am a Paramedic, and my job requires that I am able to lift 300 lbs with my partner, I went back to work on 12-27-07, on my first call had a Pt. that was 250 lbs, and I had extream lumbar pain when lifting, went home, then to Dr. the following day, I am now on a 30 lbs lift restrick for 30 days. I am going to be out 00 in wages, if I am able to return to work after the 30 days. there Ins. wants to offer me 0 for pain and suffering, what should I do? What am I entitled?

The other party failed to yield the right of way entering an intersection. She was issued a citation for the accident and has current auto insurance. My wife suffered first degree burns on her arms and also back and neck pain. Her vehicle looked totaled with the front end completley caved in. Her vehicle is a 2004 Nissan Exterra with 40000 miles and it was almost paid off. We live in TX. My questions are… How much would she recieve to replace her car? Will she get a rental car to drive in the mean time? How long till this gets resolved? Should we expect a settlement for her injuries, lost wages, hospital bills? and should we look into hiring a personal injury lawyer or just let the insurance company handle it? I’d appreciate any insight thank you.

Car accident, should we consult a lawyer?

Should we consult an attorney about a car accident my husband was recently involved in to make sure we get the max amount we deserve? I’ll try and give you as much details about the accident as possible.

What happened: My husband was driving home from work when 2 cars came to a stop in front of him, he stopped about 1 1/2 car lengths behind them as they were waiting to turn left, about 3 seconds later a large SUV rear-ended him dead on pushing him into the van in front of him and totaling our car. He went to the ER right away but haven’t gotten the x-rays back yet. We won’t get the police report for a few more days still but it was DEFINITELY the woman’s fault. My husband is under DR’s orders to take off 1 week, and then light duty for 1 week (possibly longer after we find out the results of the x-rays), he is feeling anxious because of missing work and we have no savings so we’re stressed about bills, we have a 5 month old and he cannot help me at home, and is afraid to drive now.
Oh yes and my husband drives for a living so him being afraid of getting into another accident is taking a toll on his work performance capacity.

Mainly we want the woman (or her insurance company) to pay: the remainder of our loan, my husband’s present and future medical bills regarding these injuries, lost wages, loss of ability to provide household serivces, loss of use of property (ie the car), pain and suffering (for his physical pain, mental suffering, and emotional distress), a rental car that is comparable to our totaled car until this is settled.

Also we know that the woman has insurance and it is up to date as we have already contacted her insurance as well as ours about this accident.

So do I have a case, should we get a lawyer?
our insurance co offered us about 14k for the car, but we owe about 16k on our loan as we’ve not had this car not even 2 months. When we purchased the car we didn’t get GAP so there is around 2k that will be left on the loan if we accept this.
he was at a dead stop and the woman was going 55mph when she hit him, that is why he was pushed so far. The police officer walked the skid marks from our car and he was pushed 10 feet (I guess that’s about 1 1/2 cars length right?)
this is what the car looks like now,

and yes I am telling 100% of the truth, I feel bad for the women who hit him as she seemed very upset but we are newly married with a young baby and had worked hard for our car and life only to have it jeopardized by this womans negligence!

If you can call it that. I was rear ended today and already got an estimate…it will take 2 to 3 days to fix the car. No insurance involved. Obviously the other individual will pay for the cost to repair the car. Should I also get money up front for a rental car or wait until after it is completed. I’m not sure exactly how long it is going to take and sometimes these body shops fall behind. I dont want the person to pay too much (I’m too honest of a person).

What are my rights as a victim in an auto accident?

There were no injuries; however, there is damage to my vehicle that must be repaired as I can’t open my hood. The other person’s insurance agreed to pay for the damages, but won’t offer me a rental car because I don’t have a credit card. The car must be fixed and I need transportation to go to work. Do I have any recourse?

how to fight auto insurance company?

Husband was in a no injury auto accident during business hours in a business owned car, car was totaled. The driver’s insurance company has offered a small amount on the car and nothing for lost of work, rental car, etc. Don’t they have to make you whole? Blue book was 3200. Records on the car show over 00.00 lost business. Their final offer 00.00. Now threatening to send car back. Since no injury, some lawyers won’t even take case. Over small claim amount for Ohio. What is our recourse?

A passenger and myself were backed into while in a rental car. We have injuries, dont want to deal with lawyers..Will the other persons insurance pay for ER bills and offer any kind of settlement? I have neck and back injuries and my passenger has a cast on her arm.
Just looking for some heads up advice.
Thanks.

What is my auto accident injury claim worth?

I was hit in the three months ago by a sixteen year-old who ran a red arrow turn light. She was cited and I was not. I did not think I was hurt at the accident, but realized that I had shoulder and neck pain later that night. I went to the urgent care through my doctor who gave me vicodin and a muscle relaxer, and then I went back in two weeks due to continuing pain. I was sent to a physical therapist, which I went to twice a week for the past few months, and once a week the last two weeks. My PT has given me stretching exercises to do at home but has said I am done with the treatment.

Her insurance has accepted liability and already paid for my car to be fixed (just under ,000) and for a rental car. They knew I was seeking treatment for the accident, and I am getting ready to send a letter asking them to request all my medical bills and records so they can offer a settlement. How much do you think my claim is worth?

I received a check and release form from the at-fault driver’s insurance company. I want to accept the check, as I do not forsee future medical costs associated with the accident. HOWEVER, the wording/language of the release seems vague/too broad…it mentions a "full release" and mentions property damage. The vehicle is currently being repaired at a body shop and they have me in a rental car. If I sign this release, will they stop work on the vehicle and so forth? My only concern here is that I get my vehicle body repairs completed…I do not want to do anything to jeopardize that or release them from that particular part of the claim. Has anyone received offers like this before and signed them? What were the results? I may meet with an attorney and pay for 30 minutes of consultation time to have the document reviewed, just to be safe…and/or write on the release that I am not releasing them from the obligation to repair my vehicle. Any advice on this? Other recommendations?

If you get in a car accident, should you get a lawyer?

My partner was involved in an accident with a dump truck. This happened a month ago and there still hasn’t been anything done. She still has no rental car, no check for a new car (hers was totalled), no compensation what so ever. She doesn’t really have any injuries, and that isn’t the concern. Should we get a lawyer to help us? The first question they always ask is about injuries. Do they help if there aren’t any??? She is calling daily (multiple times a day) and is still getting NO where. We need this situation taken care of. Legally, what can be done?
Ok, I guess I left out some info…
My partner was not found to be at fault. The police officer found the other driver to be at fault. The police were called right away, and the insurance company was called right away. Her insurance company is doing nothing! Regular calls are made to Allstate (her insurance) and they keep telling her they are waiting on the other insurance company. She doesn’t have collision coverage because her car is older, paid off, and she didn’t worry about. So, her insurance doesn’t cover her rental car. She is being told they have to wait to see if the other insurance company is going to cover it. Finally after 3 weeks of making calls and getting no where, we finally get a call that the claim was JUST filed with the other company. We have been calling for 3 weeks to her insurance and they just kept telling us everything had been filed, and that they were just waiting. She did go to the doctor right away. (within 24 hours)
Also, within the past week we have been in touch with the other persons insurance company. Still getting NO WHERE.

I have waited for two years for the answer. I was driving a rental car for my employer while on the job. The brand new 2005 Chevy TrailBlazer’s airbags did not deploy.
Too add to any freeloader answers like the on just received…I have a 35% permanant partial diasability to my "OOOH My Back" and I do not wish to go on disability. I am a worker and I have learned to adapt around the 24/7 pain I have. So to reply directly to "misspipik" I would trade my permanent pain which I have had unwillingly for the past two years for any amount of time to enjoy snowboarding, jetskiing, horseback riding or my old job back for that matter to you, because I’m sure you are a pain to whoever lives with you.
And for that matter we were traveling at 60 mph
