What type of doctor does surgery on a ruptured disc?

I have a ruptured disc in my back, and all of the sit-up excercises hurt when I do them. What is a good routine without hurting my lower back? Half the time I am waddling due to hurting something there…Any help would be great.
Oh, and I don’t want to do surgery yet, I am only 34 and a nursing student. I want to try to make things work without it.

I have a ruptured disc that is pinching my sciatic nerve and when i sit on a back massager it makes my leg hurt worse where the sciatic nerve pain goes. should i stop using it.

I went to the phys. therapist & thats what he wants to do for my ruptured disc, L3L4. I may not have spelled diometry right, it had something to do w/ magnets. What is all this, does it work, etc etc. ? How much does it usually cost?

My wife messed up her back, we believe its some sort of inflamation related to a possible ruptured disc or something of that nature, the pain is very severe at the moment. she saw a chiropractor and he is reccomending adjustments , but since they cannot write prescriptions, who should we see next for not only a prescription but a 2nd opinion…. I would go thought the normal channels that most people go thru but I dont have medical insurance and dont really want to pay for each shuffle to "someone that knows more about this stuff" …. I understand that an MRI will give a good picture of what is wrong but those are very expensive.

So what kind of doctor should we seek that can give a good diagnosis / second opinion, as well as prescribe Anti-Inflamitorys and give tips for recovery.

I slipped and fell last Dec at my work parking lot that had not been cleared of snow and ice and have had pain on my tail bone and across my buttocks ever since. It has gotten worse over the year and now have pain down my legs , I went for an MRI and was told i have a L5 ruptured disc and DDD. Does anyone know if this can be connected ? I had to have surgery on my knee also and now both knees are hurting can that be connected? I have had nothing but pain since i fell . I now have seen a lawyer and he says i have a case against my work. What do you think?

my bro said he had 2 slipped disc and 1 ruptured disc i don’t not believe
would he b able to still work? he not on pain pills>?
