I’m 20 yrs old, I got my first DUI like a few weeks ago..I was driving while high they say..I wasn’t drunk at all but high so they say. When I took a breathalyzer it came back 0% Should this look better for me? They said they found a little under a gram of marijuana in my car..I was ticketed for missing headlight (didn’t even know, was the real reason i got pulled over, failure to yield, no insurance, no seat belt..all BS because they never asked for my insurance..there were NO cars on the street and our seat belts were totally on..Judge said he they wouldn’t appoint me a public defender because I wouldn’t be at risk of serving any jail time anyway..and he gave me time to find a lawyer or to defend myself..I said i would get a lawyer but I’m just wondering how much that will cost my parents..Ive heard crazy stuff like ,000..Sounds utterly insane! I wasn’t even drunk…I live in Memphis, tn..Can anybody give me any ideas of how much this will cost? Because I mean if it costs even ,000 I’m just going to defend myself because that’s just ridiculous..I doubt that much worse would happen if i DID defend myself..Someone told me at the level court or something it wont go on my record or anything like that anyway so there’s no way in hell i would give an attorney that much freaking money..Can someone help me out here

Just got into a car accident, I’m completely fine except for a few scratches and bruises, but my car is totaled (go seat belts!). I have another car I can use so I won’t be missing work or anything. After the accident, they took me to the hospital, they checked me up and gave me x-rays where it hurt but found nothing. The driver a fault was totally drunk, ran a red light and hit me. Everything is his fault. There was a witness that reported that to the police.
So given those circumstances, is it worth getting a lawyer?
Also, the driver at fault does have insurance.

My three teenage kids were rear-ended by a commercial truck. They were in a newer mini van, all in seat belts. The driver claims his brakes went out on him, and he was cited by the officer. On pushing the truck to the side of the road, the brakes were bad.
All went to the hospital for xrays, and were released with instructions to rest and take ibuprohen for pain.
Spoke with the claims adjuster was told to get an estmate which is in progress, and I am using my shop, which they approved. I do not anticipate any issues with getting the vehicle made whole.
Question revovles around the kids. They seems fine, and frankly I would be surprised if there was any long term issues. Sore neck, sore back, some soreness from the seat belt. On day two they are not complaining, and are doing normal things.
The clams person indicated that she would make an offer once all of the medical bills are submitted.
Answer I need is, what is a reasonable amount for the injuries

I’m just wondering how modern auto safety systems with seat belts and airbags help prevent injury, or not.
Could you please briefly describe the accident and what sort of injuries you and your passengers had. How about the other car’s injuries.

I got into an accident around the end of october last year. At the scene the other guy’s car only had surface scratches since he owned a Mercedes and the bumper took all the impulse, my car was pretty badly totalled in the front. The first thing I did after the accident was walk out of my car to check if everyone was ok, I asked him and he said he was. So we called the police, we didn’t ask for an ambulance or nothing because it was a low speed collision and we both had seat belts on. So the police officer came and took our reports, and asked me if I was ok I said I was and he asked me if the other driver was ok as well, and I told him he was, the police officer asked the other driver as well. Now one year after the accident this driver is trying to make a claim on being bodily injured in the accident. I can prove using physics and dynamics exactly how much force was applied to his seat and through the seat belt onto him, I have the police officer as a witness, how will my case hold up
I am 100% sure he is trying to fraud me, I am pretty sure he cut me off right before a red light but that cant be proven. However the police officer can testify that he was ok at the scene, how badly his car was damaged, etc; isn’t this enough to win a jury over? What is this other guy thinking, that I am so stupid I will settle for what he askes knowing I can win the case so easily because I am innocent and he will be commiting purgery on stand by lying about his injuries? Also doesn’t he get checked by an unbaised doctor recommended by the judge to show what his injuries can be attributed to? I have Gieco insurance, will they do anything to help me prevent this obvious case of fraud? Is there any chance that this guy’s lawyer can trick a jury even with all my proof and evidence?
Thanks for any ideas, also should I contact Gieco’s fraud department and report this as such a case for investigation?
Please help me, i dont know what to do now.

Fell out of golf cart while nephew was making a left turn. Pavement of road to rough was quite steep.I am a new golfer, and recieved no safety warnings from course director or on golf cart. I recieved 2 cracked ribs and a torn rotor cuff as I am 55 years of age. The rotor cuff needed surgery. The ins. co. for the golf course told me they would pay 5,000. of my medical. Truly unfair to me.New golfers should be made aware of the dangers involved with golf carts and going from pavement to terribly uneven roughs, either before with a handout or posted on the golf cart.If the sides were higher or seat belts were installed, this never would have happened. Other states have seat belts or warnings why does’nt MO. I only want all my medical paid, as for all the suffering I have gone through and will continue what price do you put on that, as for as punitive damages, give warnings to new golfers or improve uneven paved roads to the roughs. This is the course and mgt. fault as well as cart mfg.’s.
