I got out of shape after an accident. My spine is compressed and I have multiple herniated disks in every section.
Ok i have a basketball tournamount tomorrow and im trying to decide if i should play or not. I recently went to the hospital 2 days cause my spine and lower back was hurting way bad. But the doctor gave me some painkillers 550 mg so the pain has gone down a little bit now and the side effects do make me a little bit dizzy. The doctor strongly advised me from not lifting anything heavy but he didn’t say anything about sports. So would i be stupid to play?
I am on serious pain meds but am getting tired of taking them, also went to first treatment of PT and traction table today, and I am suffering. I had to take 5 of these tablets (percocet 7.5) over three hours to get any relief. Has anyone tried an inversion table and had success before I go buy one? Any other success stories besides a shot into the spine? I don’t think I can do that. I would almost rather have surgery than have a shot into my spine I really really really do not do well with needles.
And if so what is a good model or brand name? Has anyone heard of invertek? They are on eBay for like 0.
my cousin met an accident on his motorcycle..doctor says that he hurt his spine in which he has to go for an operation to fix back in place. however doctor oso said that chances of him not to be paralyse from waist down is quite slim..all i’m asking for is how to increase the chances of him to walk again? his nerves are so-call damage..but still once again pls let me know on wat are the things to take care of so as to improve his chances..btw he is only 22…pls give me constructive answers as this is no joking matter…
Is it better to administer this procedure intravenously or directly on the spine or some other method? Please help, my mom suffers severely from sciatic pain every day.
What do they do for an older person that falls and has a compression fracture in their lower spine?
How do they diagnose this? If it is Xray can MRI pick up more breaks that Xray missed? How long would they usually give a person OFF work to heal? Would they use a back BRACE or therapy or something? What would the pain exactly feel like?

Low back injury on the job. Received 2 steroid injections in lower back 2 weeks apart. A week later was hospitalized. Doctors say say I am a diabetic now. They say steroid injections to my spine could have caused the problem. I don’t have a weight issue and diabetes does not run in my family. Do I have acase?
When I was one, I had rhumatoid arthritis, a few years ago (when I was 16) I found out that I had bulging discs in my spine. The pain was intense! I got epidural steriod injections for a long time and I was on physical therapy for about 3 months at no cost to me becuase I was still a child, but when I turned 18 my Partners for Healthy Children benefits ran out (South Carolina). The shots cost about 700 dollars a piece and I obviously can’t afford that. The pain is still intense every once in a while. Any programs out there that can help me in SC or anywhere else?
I recently got diagnosed (through MRI and X-Ray) with a bulging disc in my lumbar (low spine) region as well as minimal degeneration of one disc in the same area. I’m looking for answers from those who have personal experience with pain management. I’ve done research so I don’t need websites explaining what these things are, just input on what others have done to manage the problem. I’m already on NSAIDs and do not want to resort to any injections as of now. So non-medicinal advice would be most appreciated.
I’m a young adult, a competitive horseback rider and I am active in core strengthening classes such as pilates and yoga. I cannot physically lift weights because of a previous shoulder injury. I am also currently in a physical therapy program.

Six months ago I tore a disc and hernaited another one in my lower spine. I’ve been doped up on pain killers and muscle relaxants since then and just recently received an epidural injection. My workmans comp only approved for two weeks of physical therapy, so now I have to work out own my own and hope that I don’t aggravate my injury. My question is how long before I can start going to the gym or the dojo and start training like I used to before this stupid injury? Are there any fighters or weight lifters out there thats gone thru this and can give me some tips?
So far, I’m told by an orthopedic specialist that I have a compression fracture in my lower spine. The cause was an auto accident. I was a trucker with Schneider National. I drove as a team with another driver. I was asleep in the bunk, as my partner was driving, when a pickup truck went left of center and hit us nearly head on. We were both traveling at 65 MPH. We managed to escape before our semi burned to the ground in a matter of minutes. Two of the four occupants in the pickup truck were killed. We lost all of our personal property in the semi, of which ,000 worth was mine. The other party only carried a ,000 auto insurance policy, both property and bodily injury. Schneider National is taking most of it with a 0,000 claim. I currently have a worker’s comp. attorney, but I don’t have any idea what sort of settlement will be reached at this point. My back pain has been consistent for the past 6 months and seems to be worsening.
I am also unable to return to driving or perform any physical labor. The accident happened in Kansas and I live in Ohio.
Also, the insurance company of the other party is only offering 0 for my property.
And… If the doctors at the occupational health facility that I was first sent to by Schneider had properly diagnosed my condition, it could have been repaired, according to my orthopedic specialist.
I have been battling pain in my lower back and my whole back even went numb while I was walking the other day.
The last few months, the area right in the center of my low back itches constantly. It is not dry skin or anything skin related. I would like to know if any disorders of the spine or back muscles would cause this?
If anyone has experienced this or diagnosed this, I would appreciate the information.

After my MRI, I was diagnosed with a bulging disc in my lower back.
I have had pain and numbness in my feet since June.
How long can this take to heal.
The doctor suggested ‘traction" to try and stretch my spine and get the disc off the nerve. Does this work?
A 200 lb glass table top fell against my lower back earlier today. I’m having a lot of back around my spine. I don’t want to go to the ER, I want to wait and see my doctor on Monday. What should I do for the pain?

I was seeing an orthopedic specialist because my dr originally thought that I had hip displaysia but when the specialist did furhter testing, he saw nothing wrong with my hips and diagnosed me with a bulging disc which showed up on an MRI of my spine. But he more or less said that I shouldn’t be feeling much pain if any and made feel completely stupid for going to him which wasn’t my choice anyway. So i’m just wondering if this is normally painful or if there could be something else wrong.
I’ve been having this pain for about 9 years, however it got much worse when I was carrying my twins and now that they’re 5 months old, its worse than its ever been. I can’t go on bed rest because my husband is deployed so there isn’t anyone to look after the babies and I really get worried because lately my right leg has been giving out under me and it happens a lot when i’m carrying my children but the dr. won’t listen to me, he just keeps shrugging it off as nothing. I can’t count how many times i’ve almost fallen down the stairs with my baby or babies in my arms because of my leg giving out with no warning. It really makes me mad and I don’t know if i’m over reacting or not but I really want to call my insurance company and file a complaint on this dr. I don’t even want to think about surgery as i’m really afraid of being put under not to mention the recovery period and right now i’m all that my kids have so I can’t even consider it at this point. I just don’t know what to do.
