I have been having severe back pain with spasms, especially when I go to bed at night. I have to sleep upright on a heating pad. I went to the chiropractor today and they made xrays. They said that the last vertebrae in my spine is twisted and tilted. I haven’t done any lifting or had any accidents. What could have caused this?

back injury?

today at cheerleading practice (high school level), i hurt my back. i am a base ( i hold ppl up ) but it is unusual because i only weigh 100 lbs and most of my flyers are bigger than me. we were doing a stunt and it was a lib (the flyer is on one leg in a full extention) so they are pretty high. we were craddling down from the stunt and when i went to catch my flyer thats when it hurt. i literally heard like every vertebrea in my back crack and i fell to the ground. i was ok enough to get back up and i didnt say anything to the coaches. i continued most of practice, but sat out for the last like 20 minutes. since i was fine enough to continue im thinking it wasnt too serious, although i do take pain well. it isnt really one part of my back, more the whole thing. i’d say more upper and mid back though. it is really sore and painful. what do you think it is and what can i do to help it feel better? thanks!
i feel like its my spine almost that hurts, but i dont think it was too severe of an injury to have really hurt my spine.. also when i sat down i was really shakey and kind of lightheaded.. but i have my period and sometimes it does that to me lol plus that has mostly gone away although i am still a bit shakey in my hands but not too bad .. sorry the question is so long

medical term, spine.

A rheumatologist has told me that he’s fairly sure I have ankylosing spondylitis. We’re waiting on lab work. I’ve been reading up on the condition and obviously spinal fusion is the hallmark of the condition. But I’ve also read that this doesn’t happen to everyone, though I’ve had trouble finding out how likely it is not to happen. Being twenty and liking my spine the way it is (minus the pain), does anyone have any idea– for my possible peace of mind?

It says in my document from doctors: There is slight depression of the anterior aspect of the vertebral body noted at T12 level and may suggest slight compression fracture. This should be correlated if there is any history of clinical symptoms over this site. The rest of the vertebra show normal heights. Vertebral alignments seem to be maintained. Evaluation of lumbosacral spine also shows normal vertebral heights and alignments. The disc spaces are maintained throughout the thoracic and lumbosacral spine.

I have a healthy spine, there’s just one more vertebrae.

My back is the reason that I was released from the Marines in 1997, I have been fighting VA ever since. I had to pay for an MRI myself because they said nothing was wrong with my back, and now the lumbar part of my spine is bulging to the point that it cost me a job at the Post-Office even after I passed their test, urinalysis, and a physical. The reasonable accomadation board at the Post Office said that I was unsuitable to work there, I have very limited income (Disability Compensation 20% for a busted back). Where does a veteran turn to get help for this case?

I had a pretty extensive, nine hour spinal surgery to remove a tumor 2 1/2 months ago. The tumor was actually growing inside one of my vertebra which caused it to collapse. The doctors had to fuse my spine together at t6-t8, but then made a mistake in the screw sizes and had to fix their mistake a few days later, which was about 5 hours of surgery. I am still taking 4-6 or Lortab a day…and I was wondering how much other people needed this long after their surgeries? I am a 22/f.

I crack my back—I KNOW BAD HABIT! But a week ago I have been experience pain in one little place on my back just beside my spine—Could it be from cracking? When should I go get it checked out? I am kind of nervous?

Vertebra means they have a spine.
Mimicry meaning they mimic.

Example: An octopus can change the texture and color of it’s skin to look like it’s surroundings, aka, camouflage. What other animals do this?

Other than a chameleon.

Spinal Nerve Injury?

I do martial arts at school, and we were doing all these yoga like stretches and my spine started to tingle. It was really uncomfortable and a few days have passed but now my lower back, will just all of a sudden start stinging, it feels like pins and needles, and its really uncomfortable.

I don’t know whats wrong, and now im starting to get the stinging in my arms and other parts of my body.

What should I do? Because its really uncomfortable and it hurts…

Many thanks

I’ve got 11 degenerated discs and 14 herniated discs and have been going for shots in my spine from a pain mangagement doctor for over 2yr without any relief. I’m taking Perocet 7.5mg, 3x dailyDuragesic Patch 50mcg,every 72hrs Lyrica 50mg 3x daily and Temazepam 30mg 1x daily. None of it helps. I’m in excruciating pain. Any non-surgical ideas?

I had spinal surgery 04/30/07. I went back to work 09/04/07, still in pain. The pain got so bad the doctor had to take me back off work 10/02/07. After more test they found the hardware(screw) had broken & the spine was shifting stopping the bone from fusing. Has anyone ever heard of this? They wanted me to go back to surgery & I said no. What can I do?
Has anyone ever heard of this? The surgery is not to fix the broken hardware(screw) too dangerouis. It’s to add more hardware. I tired of surgeries, this was my 3rd spinal surgery.

I got my surgery on July 15th and I got out five days ago. I was really active while I was in the hospital – I was walking three days post-op and my pain has been quite low, considering. I’m just worried that since I can move around so well I keep forgetting the things I’m not supposed to do. I don’t want to land myself back in the hospital because I loosened the screws in my spine or anything… so any personal experiences with movement and what you can do and when with spinal fusion recoveries would be appreciated.
