Ok, so during my last wrestling tournament my oppenent who was 20 pounds heavier than me (it was an exhibition match) sprawls on me. I fell on my butt and my back scrunched downward (my back bent a bit to the front, and mostly straight down) it hurt really bad, but I didn’t break anything. It has been four days and my lower back still hurts whenever I run, does anyone have any tips or stretches to help my lower back heal faster, or at least heal more effective?

I have a mild case of sciatica and i was wondering if stretching can help. What are some good stretches? Would stretching for splits and back bends help out or is it too much? I’m a very flexible person but i’ve stopped stretching because I’m scared of making it worse.

I injured my lower back last summer lifting something that was too heavy in an inappropriate way (using back and not legs). Since February I have had a reoccuring injury about every three weeks. I try to be very aware of my body mechanics and do stretches every day, and I also work out. (Of course, when this happens my workouts are reduced/limited/ and sometimes don’t happen). I consulted with my cousin, who is a physical therapist, and she recommended I contact my doctor to get an x-ray,and then go on getting a prescription for physical therapy. (She thinks I am doing something in my daily life I am unaware of and that the PT would help me prevent the problem from happening again…otherwise, it could get worse, and I am only 24.) Since today is Saturday and my doctor’s office is closed, I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not it was beneficial to do some light swimming when experiencing back injury. I am talking very very light, no bigtime strokes. I am at the point where I feel more stiff from referred pain than anything, but am continuing to ice and take the ibprofuen. Any advice would be helpful—thanks!

I was in two car accidents in the past two years – the first one I hurt my lower but got chiropractic and massage done, the second one about a year later I didn’t have anything done because the woman had no insurance who hit me. My back doesn’t hurt usually during day to day activities but when I’m at the gym and try to do sit ups or crunches it hurts after about 20 and I have to stop – not because I can’t do anymore situps just because it hurts. What are some stretches or excersises I could do to strenthen my lower back so this doesn’t happen when I exert too much energy around that area?

I was just wondering if there were any stretches or something I could do to get that nerve back in place in my neck. It’s been hurting for a while now, just stings when I turn my head side to side.

I haven’t gone to a doctor or anything yet. My mom says to try and wait it out and see if I can help it on my own. Using the heating pad is working well and I’m just wondering if there is any other at home treatment I could try. I’d also like to try some stretches and exercises to help it along. Is there anything I could do that isn’t too strenuous and isn’t going to cause any damage to my nerve?

ive been boxing for a while now and i was in a clench and seemed to pull a muscle or pinched a nerve. it was a sharp pain but later went away after resting it. Later that week i went back to the gym and was working on the heavy bag and the twisting motion of my hips when i threw a right punch triggered the pain again. its in my lower back on the far left side and is actually below the hip bone. When i massaged the area i could feel a slight pain shoot down my left leg and feel a tendon moving around and it seems to be the main cause of the pain. The pain comes and goes but as soon as i do the repetitive motion it comes back. it also bothers me in hockey from twisting my hips to take a shot. I was just wondering if someone knew what this might be called or maybe a cure or some stretches that would loosen up your lower back and hips. especially if its specifically for this injury.

Im a surfer, and when paddling your back is arched up in kinda an unnatural way. It causes severe back pain in the lower part of my back. It was so bad a few days ago, I had to get off my board and swim to get out into the deep water. I always do stretches for my arms, neck and legs but I dont really know of my any that would help my lower back out. Any suggestions would be much apprectiated.

I take breaks, do stretches and excercises, but that lower back pain is there and hurting. It all started with 3 herniated discs. I do have pain Rx, but does anyone know of something they did that helps on a daily basis? I did the epidural steroid enjections. The DR says that the sitting isn’t good for a bad back. Thanks and take care!

I suffer from symptoms of sciatica in my lower back. It can be very painful at times. I’m looking for sciatica exercises or stretches that I could do to help give me relief from the pain.
