I had sever backpain and was told i had ruptured disc. Surgeon who operated said i should be well in 2-3 weeks. Immediately after surgery I discovered left foot was numb. Surgeon said it will go away.
Three months later I discover I have foot drop. Top of foot is still numb and I cannot walk on my left heal. Also I cannot flatfooted, raise my toes off the floor, period. I can barely bend the toes forward. Has anyone ever came out of this sort of thing?

I herniated a disc in my lower spine, and I’ve been treating it with physical therapy, pain meds, chiropractic adjustments. It’s improving, but cortisone shots are my next option. If you’ve had the same problem, I’d like to know if they worked for you and for how long? I’ve heard they can help with pain for up to three months if they work, which should be enough time for my back to heal properly. Did they work for you?

Basically long story short I was in a car accident over a year ago and my lawyer hasn’t helped me in months. He won’t return my calls, he doesn’t contact my insurance agent, and just basically hasn’t done anything to advance the case in over three months. It’s really frustrating.
Has the lawyer really abandoned me? Also, what can I do if he has?

I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and a bulging disc three months ago. I’ve had two sacroilic joint injections (didn’t help) and one facet joint injection in that time period. Also had three physical therapy sessions and one chiro session. They made the pain worse. I’m on regimen of two doses of percocet 10/325 a day and flexeril 3 times a day. My pain is still terrible. I told my PM doc this on my last visit. He gave me the second sj inection and kept my medicines the same. He also had me sign a pain contract. I’m still in pain to the point that I can’t stand it. Should I call him on Monday and tell him or wait until my next appointment (on April 29th)? I really don’t feel like I can make it until then. What can I say to him to make him understand the treatments aren’t working? I tried telling him on last visit and he told me we would try another shot on the April 29th visit and he didn’t listen. I don’t know what else to do. I don’t want to flat out ask him for stronger meds, but I’m at the end of my rope here. I don’t feel like I’m ever going to get better or get real relief. Any input on what I should do would be appreciated. Thanks.

three months ago, my husband was unable to get up the bed the usual way because it was hindered by his recurring back.He was diagnosed with mild scoliosis and til now was given a self therapy for his back and just a week ago it became worst and he was unable to move and his back aches worst he said.He was driving a motorcycle which i think made it worst. He has cold hands and feet but not lost sensation on the lower part of his body which accdg to drs spinal is ruled out already.

hurtting in my left side of my mid back. Mostly when I lay on that side in bed or over use that muscle during the day I feel it. Do you think it could be a spinal situatrion or just a sprain. It has been hurting severly when I lay on it at night for the past three months. I am going to see my doctor but I wanted to see what your all opinions were. Thanks.

Research says USUALLY after three months the sciatic pain can go away, ive had it for two months so far. I do ALOT of excersizing in my day, and know i could keep it up along with stretching and this should form muscle where the hurt nerve is, making the pain go away. But if im at a level four, itll only get worse until……..surgery??

I am 26. I had a lumbar fusion at the L4-5 lvl 03 April 2006. My surgeon said that I would feel like normal after three months. Here I am at 4 months and I am still in some pain. My back is killing me. It is hard for me to go shopping or walking downtown without being in a lot of pain that night. I recently seperated from th Air Force and I am looking for a job. I have turned down jobs because i could not physically perform the duties. How long was anyone else out of work, and how long did it take for the pain to go away? I was sure it would be sooner than this because I am young and I was in very good health and in shape before the surgery. Help???

I was in an auto accident three months ago. I still have back and neck pain. I was originally sent to physical therapy which didn’t help. My doc. then sent me to a chiropractor who has helped a little, but just can’t seem to fix it. He took X-rays and found I have spondylosis (I guess I already had it but didn’t know. It was just aggravated by the accident) and scoliosis (which I knew I had). Both of these things are complicating my healing from the accident. The chiro doc is really trying hard, but says I’m a challenge. If he can’t fix it, and the physical therapist couldn’t, what can be done? I’m only 40, and was healthy and active before. Will the other insurance company (the person who hit me) cover future medical expenses if I can’t fix it and will need chiro or ortho care in the future? I’m afraid to sign anything until I’m all the way better, but don’t want this to drag on forever either. Any advice is really helpful, because I really don’t know what to do. Thanks!

I was hit in the three months ago by a sixteen year-old who ran a red arrow turn light. She was cited and I was not. I did not think I was hurt at the accident, but realized that I had shoulder and neck pain later that night. I went to the urgent care through my doctor who gave me vicodin and a muscle relaxer, and then I went back in two weeks due to continuing pain. I was sent to a physical therapist, which I went to twice a week for the past few months, and once a week the last two weeks. My PT has given me stretching exercises to do at home but has said I am done with the treatment.
Her insurance has accepted liability and already paid for my car to be fixed (just under ,000) and for a rental car. They knew I was seeking treatment for the accident, and I am getting ready to send a letter asking them to request all my medical bills and records so they can offer a settlement. How much do you think my claim is worth?

I was injured about a year ago and my knee was messed up. I underwent therapy for about three months and now my case is in negotiations. I’m wondering what the offer will be for about 20 visits to the doctor.

I was injured at work while lifting a jet Ski out to a dealership because their forklift was broke. My work expected me to lift crazy amounts of wieght every day. After I got hurt, I let my boss know what happend. He begged me to keep working. After two days on the job, that night I coud’nt even get out of bed. After going through Workmans Comp and Back surgery I contacted a lawyer to handle my case. I am also seeking emotional and stress related injurys as well. The lawyer and I felt that I was worked over by my company. It has now been 8 months involved from injury to present.I have’nt heard from my lawyer in three months. I would just like to know the norm for such a mess and what I should expect in the future? I have healed good but still have pain. How much money will likley come my way? I am a student now and trying to become a nurse.

so ive been to the doctor eh 8 times since June (7 months) and they did X-rays on my legs and blood tests and found nothing (at the time my back didnt hurt). The last few months my back has been hurting along with my legs..It kind of has the pully feeling in it and my legs just ache everyday.. I am 15 and this has gone on for 7 months. I exercise and am active.. I read up on causes of this pain and I really think that’s what it is.. I also read treatments for herniated discs but they said rest was 1st and most goes away with like 3 months and some exercise.. well i’ve exercised and it’s been way longer than three months.. so i was wondering if it does turn out to be a herniated disc do you think i will end up needing surgery since it has gone on this long and the pain is still going on everyday pretty bad..

It does not take away a womans right to get an abortion, even if it would mean she could only get a first trimester abortion that’s three months to get it done. That is more time than I had from the first symptoms of a back injury to the end of my recovery time after surgery. Why does someone need longer for a procedure that from start to finish takes perhaps a week to arrange,a few hours at the "doctor" and a recovery time of perhaps a week?
