My auto accident was in October. When I call my lawyer to get a status. They just tell me they send the demand letter in January. How long will State Farm take? Is there a time frame they have to answer by?

What is a reasonable time frame of calling your attorney to check the status of your personal injury case? I know you can call anytime you want to but, is once a week or every 2 weeks obsessive? The case is to the point of the defense attorney excepting mediation/offer a settlement or going to trial. As it seems there is no other person to do a deposition on.

Thanks for any serious advise.

Does anyone know the time frame that these things take? All I know is my lawyer sent State Farm a demand letter on April 9, about the accident that took place early last year. Do they usually take awhile to respond? Does state farm them give my lawyer a number, or is this for something else?

Any help would be appreciated. Lawyer of course does not tell me anything.

My cousin just got arrested for her third DUI in Indiana. she has a problem..and she has taken classes, be on house arrest twice and even had 3 months in jail, but nothing seems to work..her current arrest has 10 charges which are:
1 Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated
2 Operating With a BAC at least 0.08 or more
3 Operating While Intoxicated With a Prior Conviction
4 Operating While Intoxicated With a Prior Conviction
5 Resisting Law Enforcement
6 Operating a Motor Vehicle While Suspended
7 Failure to Signal
8 Unsafe Lane Movement
9 Habitual Substance Offender
10 Operating a Vehicle Without an Ignition Interlock Device
…. this is while she was still on probation for her last 2 DUI’s (which i should mention this is all in a time frame of about 3 1/2 years) yeah i know its horrible..i just wonder what is going to happen next..her second DUI was already labeled as a "felony D" so im guessing this will be a felony too. She also spent jail time in another county for a public intoxication and battery to a police officer offense. She has a hearing for the Revoke of Probation coming up as well. She still owes at least 00 in court fine that were due almost a year ago. She is not working and no longer has custody of her child(he now lives with his father and step mother in a much more stable environment)..of course she has a lawyer, but with that kind of record do you think he will get her out of jail time…if so well thats just dumb of the judge..but if she does get jail time, which i think she is in desperate need of..how long might it be? i would hope its a good amount of time…maybe then she will learn her lesson and sober up for good…thanks for all the answers

I unfortunately got a DWI 3 years ago. I now work in an office for a trucking company, and plan on getting my CDL. After 3 years, I don’t have to report the DWI to my insurance company for my personal vehicle. If I get my CDL, does my employer have to report it after that time frame, or are they free of it after 3 years as well?

Sorry if this is worded confusingly.

I hired and attorney more than a month ago in regards to a child visitation issue. I live in another state than my son and I’m disabled with limited funds. I’ve made numerous calls and haven’t gotten any satisfaction. What is a reasonable time frame and what should I do next ?

I had a DUI exactly 3 years ago and I am moving to NM. I don’t want to have to get an interlock again. I had on when I got my DUI. I feel like its double jeopardy. Is there a time frame I can wait before moving so that I don’t have to get an interlock?

I was involved in an auto accident and it’s been five days since it happened. I’m starting to have a pain in my left shoulder (I was driving and it is bruised from the seat belt). The accident was not my fault, but I’m worried that the "acceptable" time frame has passed for visiting the doctor. Is it too late to claim it as an injury if I go to the doctor now?
