A minor fender bender occured, scratched bumpers on both cars, the police came to the scene insurance information was exchanged, no injuries documented. Can the other party claim personal injury/whip lash at a later date?

Got a PI lawyer, and apparantly the claim has changed adjuster hands a few times.
Does the adjuster have a time limit on when to settle the case?? The lawyers office keeps saying there playing phone tag…but I’m starting not to believe it.

The accident took place May 30, 2008. I am not sure if my lawyer is being really slow at resolving this or if I am just impatient. Anyways, I have already gotten him photos of the accident and a copy of all my medical bills. He said that he would get a hold of me when he figures out how much we are settling for. I haven’t heard from in since the end of September. I have considered finding a new lawyer. But if the one I got is still on schedule or at least okay with the time limit I will stick with him. So I was just curious, is there or what is the time limit to settle?
