Kitten spinal injury?

I found a young cat at my Grandmothers house this morning not moving and meowing whose neck was wet because something had gotten a hold of it. I felt horrible and stayed with it for awhile. When it relaxed it would lay down and sleep and every few minutes or so it would have a spasm where it would put it’s head back and stretch it’s legs out and claw the air and then lay there with it’s head back. When I held it, it wouId finally relax it’s muscles but a few minutes later would have another spasm. I knowno onee around there will be able to take it to the vet and I am unable to do so either. I was hoping it was in shock and would come out of it but now I’m not so sure. Should I call someone to put it out of it’s misery?

My dog might have spinal injury, Help?

My 6 months old dog jerry suffered accident 3 days back. I immediately took him to a vet who after diagonosing him gave few injections and said that jerry has no serious injury from inside and only external injuries. Medicines he gave were antibiotic and pain killer. However during night jerry kept groaning in pain. Next morning I saw that he still is not standing on legs and urinating and stooling involuntarily, I took him back to the vet This time vet said that it may be serious internal injury and may not heal. I then went to another vet who was also not equipped and just by looking at him said that we can give only pain killer and antibiotics and wait for few days to see jerry’s response. I searched on net and found one more vet far away from our place. I called him on phone and took his appointment on next day. He was generous enough to suggest me that if I am not able to see him I should give vitamin doses to jerry that may help boost nervous system. In night I massaged jerry’s insensitive back and legs for 2-3 hrs. Next morning when I woke up , Jerry saw me and wagged his tail a little which was lying without movement for past 2 days. This gave me some hope . I took him to the vet but vet after looking at him said that this could be a paralysis because whenever I lifted jerry he would urinate. He still gave a homeopathic medicine causticum which is used in paralysis. I came back and while massaging I noted he would slightly lift his paws. This day he also ate eggs and drank milk which was a good sign for me. Today morning I saw him wagging tail more furiously. I took him to another vet and he pinched jerry’s fingers with some instrument to which jerry withdrew his legs back. I was happily surprised, but vet said that it was a deep pain sensation but still I was happy to hear that word sensation. Vet also said that chances of recovery are high in young dogs and gave new medicine to him for next 7 days but even he is not sure of jerry’s position. We do not have equipped vets in our area. Please somebody tell what are his chances after all I have writtern. I see hope in every little progress he makes. Jerry’s weight is 14 kgs and is labra mix breed i guess. Please help somebody

Cat spinal injury. Please help. Urgent.?

A few days ago, my cat came (4-5 years old) came home dragging her back feet behind him. We immediately took her to the vet, and when we got there, the vet mentioned something about spinal nerve inflammation. He said that it is unlikely that she got hit by a car and most probably is suffering from spinal trauma.
He sent us both home and told us to return within 5 days.

My cat has been eating, and drinking, and walking to the kitty litter box with difficulty. When she walks, her back legs slowly collapse under her weight, but she manages to "pick them up again".

She is kept in a basket, and regularly moves around to change position. However, I can tell that she has great difficulty when moving.
She purrs whenever I touch her, and responds to sounds.
I would say that the top part of her body is normal. She moves her hind legs slightly when shes asleep, but her tail is completely limp.

My questions here are:
1. Is this temporary- or permanent. Are there any chances of her ever regaining the ability to walk?
2. Is she in great pain? What would my options be?
3. Has anyone here ever had a similar experience? If so, please give me some options, and advice how to make her more comfortable.

Please help me. I have no idea what to do. She is my best friend, and I’d hate it if she died because of this. I feel guilty for putting her out the night before to pee, and for falling asleep before getting her back in as usual. (It is not the first time that she slept outside, as we live in an area without cars).
I hate myself for this.

My horse had a bad spinal vertebrae injury and I got x-rays done and the vet said I can ride her again but I’m scared. I just got another saddle with more wither clearance than her old one. The only problem is that now, one side of her back sticks up more than the other (you can see in the pictures with her saddle on that there is a gap on the left side compared to the right. Should I use a gel half pad, or use my Bates saddle that has the air panels to equalize the pressure from the gap?

Also, does the saddle I recently got seem to fit perfect for her (minus the gap on the left)? Here are 11 pictures of her injury and wearing a saddle:

Will a dog's spinal injury heal?

We have a rescued dog that may have been hit by a car. Our vet told us that a dog’s spinal injury may heal over time and that we need to give him some time. He can not walk or stand up. But he is alert and eating and drinking well. He can stretch his legs but nothing else. Even the second opinion vet said it "might" heal. Any one out there know more about this?
He can’t stand, none of his legs work right now. It isn’t that I don’t trust the vet’s opinions. I just think personal experience would help more in this situation. We’ve rescued for years and some vets will simply send a dog home to die. It’s happened to us. So I want to hear about real life experiences.

Magic is only 4 months old, he is a cocker spaniel. The vet is sending me to a specialist -says he has a spinal cord injury. He doesn’t voluntarily move his hind legs, holds his head to the left and seems to be in a lot of pain. I make very little money does anyone know what the surgery might cost? Is medication an option? Just any help would be nice. Thanks

I have a loveable and active 3 yr.old lhasa apso. He is very much the untimate lap dog. My 3 yr.old grandson jumped onto the couch and unfortunately fell on him. He yelped and an hour or two later we noticed he was crying out in pain when he tried to jump up into our laps. It’s Sunday, so we went to the After Hour vet. Xrays show disc disease, and loss of space in at least two areas. The vet recommended confinement (crate) , steroids, and antiinflammatories. Pick him up and carry him down the steps and back up, etc. No walking around, no jumping at all. Well, he’s in his crate and whining. He ususally sleeps with me. My bed is one of those high ones and he does sometimes jump down in the middle of the night for a drink, so poor guy can never sleep with us again. It was stress to keep him quiet/still as poss. for fear of paralysis. He does have some symptoms in one of his hind legs. Anyone else ever have this to deal with and how did your dog do? Good outcomes I hope.
He did show some calcification of disc space L4-L5, poss. compression L1-L2 and L2-L3. He has decreased Proprioceptive placing on LRL only, withdrawal and patellar refelexes present as are deep and superficial pain bil. Pain on palpation of back when palpated. He whined all night while in the crate. I finally took him out and tethered myself to him with a short leash. He slept between us and calmed down immediately. I gave him pain control this am, carried him out, and put him in his crate. He doesn’t want a drink or to eat. will followup with our vet today. Thanks for all the responses! Keep ‘em coming.
saw our vet, she was in agreement with conservative care. He got alot worse last night, couldn’t stand on back legs, dragging himself, crying out, went to the bathroom in our lap. We saw our vet again this am and were referred for surgery to a board certified surgeon. He is in surgery now. Thank you for responding. My heart is breaking for him, say a prayer please.

The vet gave her a non swelling. He used acupunture. The vets have not experience in hamsters in my country.

She can’t move her 2 front legs. Please help. I need to know.
My vet is not working today.. Please just answer it for me. Her name is Millie and she just turned 1 year old.
My neighbors found her and took her. The vet said it was a Cervical Spinal Injury. But when we came to see the vet was not there.

how did my cat recieve a spinal injury?

i found my cat outside last sunday, unable to walk on its back legs and very distressed, took it to vets right away, the vet did xrays, nothing was broken,it was kept in for 2 days,it wasnt improving, vet said it wouldnt get better as it had a spinal injury and wanted to put it to sleep,i refused. i brought him home but he died overnight. he was only 7,and he definately didnt get hit by a car.

I have Mini Dachshunds. 3 weeks ago one quit using her back legs… Instantly thought spinal injury and took her to the vet. We have been treating with sterioids and she is improving greatly but still not using all 4 legs normally. Just last night my male started with the same symptoms. Odd, I think that 2 would develop the same symptoms 3 weeks apart. Could this not be the typical "dachshund bad back" and be something they are spreading? I am very worried!

Hansens Type II spinal cord surgery on 9/2. Was doing great until this am and his condition has regressed. MRI shows second disc rupture and hematoma. Vet said there is possibility of spinal cord death-meaning I would have to euthanize him tonight.

He is still mobile but walks like he is a senior citizen. This came on suddenly so I think he may have hurt himself while jumping up on furniture or playing. He has not lost his appetite and is able to use the litter box for both urinating and defecating. The vet checked his vitals and he is fine with no broken bones.
