I was involved in a rear end collision in July last year. I was sitting at a red light in my car when a pick-up truck ran into the back of me. I got whiplash which caused me months of back and neck pain and Im currently undergoing physiotherapy treatment. I’m about to begin legal proceedings for personal injury against the driver of the car who ran into me.
My question is in cases like this in Florida, what would be a typical contingency fee percentage that an attorney would ask for.
Many thanks.

I was a passenger in the crash and suffered some mildish whiplash and ever since then I get headaches every single day. they dcotors can’t find a prognosis. so half this question is for amount of money I can get for pain and suffering and the other half are suggestions for me to figure out the prognosis or suggest any good related information.

Was rear-ended by lady in Louisiana involving 4 cars.No serious injuries, except me for whiplash and lower back. Seeing chiropractor for eight weeks. Expect med bills to be about 00.00, car repair 00.00 and lost 2 killer future jobs because of this, now unemployed and broke.Defendants insurance is Allstate. Any idea what to expect for settlement?
I was on my way back from being hired by GE in HOUSTON, but had to turn it down because of injuries.

My son and I were in a accident in January. We were at a dead stop and we were rear ended by another vehicle. My son broke his wrist and I have severe whiplash. I am still in pain 10 months later. Ugh! What is a typical whiplash settlement? Anyone have a similar situation and how much did you settle for? My sons situation is totally different as he had surgery and cast etc. He will get much more than I. Just wondering about my injuries. We do have a lawyer but he never gives me numbers.

I was recently involved in a car accident. Rear ended quite badly by a Maxi Taxi. In Queensland Australia. The driver was charged. Police report filed etc… I have sustained whiplash and back injuries from the accident. I am currently claiming through CTP insurance but have had been advised by a few friends to go and see a no win no fee lawyer. I am off work for a month and have alot of restrictions. Am seeing physio 2-3 times a week. The CTP insurance is covering my doctors bills etc but my main concern is if I will be able to return to work and when. But… I just don’t have a full understanding of what a lawyer can do for me and how beneficial it would be for me. At this present point in time I am focusing on getting myself well but what about my future? Will I be compensated for any further problems etc…. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I feel that the insurance company is just trying to put me through their system as fast as possible and to them I know I am just another number on their books!

I was recently hit from behind by a car and suffered neck and back injury.
I have been sent to a doctor for a medical on behalf of the insurance company. He said that I have suffered severe whiplash and neck and back injury and has refferred me to a physiotherapist for treatment.
Does anyone have any idea how much compensation I might be awarded and how long do these cases usually take to pay. Thanks

My sister fell while visiting my brother in a primarily cancer hospital. She fell over a wheel chair left in the hallway and broke her glasses and got a nasty cut on her head and cuts to her face with imbedded glass from the sprawl.
When she asked for help from the nearest nurses station, the head nurse said, ‘well whiplash I suppose’.
And then proceeded to tell her that they were not equipped to handle
those kinds of accidents because they were a cancer hospital.
She did give her a bandaid, which did not stop the bleeding. When she
complained, they sent her to a patient advocate who works for the hospital.
Because of the fall, she will need new glasses for which the advocate said the hospital will re-imburse her. Then they did finally patch her face and head wound up and took exrays and found no broken bones.
But my sister is 61 years old and will no doubt have residual problems from such a nasty fall.
She doesn’t want to file for millions of dollars like some would do through a lawyer.
But she would settle for something for her pain and suffering and any further treatment she may need as a result of the fall.
Can anyone advise…….

Ms. Johnson, an automobile whiplash victim, has been suffering spinal shock, but is looking forward to complete recovery. One night on evening rounds, her nurse discovered her in a fetal position, her body drenched with sweat. She was incontinent of feces and urine and her blood pressure was dangerously high. After a while, she was stabilized. How could these events happen ?AND ALSO what is the name of the exact response called?

For example, if you fall asleep with your head slumped forward can you hyper extend your neck for too long? Or say you are tweazing hairs from your thighs and your head is bent down for a long time. Could the symptoms, if any, be similar, to whiplash?

I was treated right after the accident for whiplash. It’s in my medical records but then was unable to go to treatment for some time because of other problems but injury got worse now the chiropractor won’t work on me because he says the insurance company won’t usually pay after this time loss. Also the auto insurance company won’t preauthorize treatment and I can’t afford the a visit co-pay required for using my health insurance. I’m on Social Security.

Does anyone have any advice for a settlement amount for a small personal injury? I am not going to get an attorney, it was fairly minor. The fault is totally on the other party, and they’ve settled 00 for myself for minor whiplash, missed work, etc. (0 of that was for pain and suffering). We’re getting ready to settle on my son’s settlement. His nose was fractured and he had a cut inside his mouth. His medical bills are approximately 00, what should I expect for pain and suffering for him? I don’t want to take advantage, but I don’t want to be taken advantage of… Never done this sort of thing before, so any advice is extremely welcome!! Thanks to all!!

My wife and I were in an auto accident in Feb 08. It was in our 1993 Chevy truck. The other driver ran a red light and hit the driver side. As a result my head broke out the driver side window. I did not go to the ER in the ambulance we drove after the report was filed with the police. I went for neck and low back pain and wife sustained buises to her right arm and right knee. They did a Catscan that ruled I had severe whiplash and for the back pain they told me to folow up with a chiro. I recieved 2 month of treatment from them for my back. I actually stopped going because the visits started hurting. After not going for a week or so. It still hurt a getting out of bed and every now and then it would remind me. I am a police officer and light duty is not an option. Anything can happen at anytime. About a month ago I woke on a day off and I couldn’t walk without have back pain and shooting pain around my ribs, breathing hurt.I thought it was the way I slept. cont.
The pain persisted all day. I decided to sleep on another bed. All night and the next morning PAIN,PAIN,PAIN. So I went to the ER I couldn’t even made it from the car to the door. After 7 hours of getting my pain under control.|The ER doctor advised that I have a herniated disc and gave me a week off work. So in bed on my back for four days pain lets up enough to return to work. I followed up with my doctor who gave me more pain medication and sent me for x-rays. Now at work I have to get out of my patrol car periodically because my legs go numb. |I have stopped wearing my bulletproof vest because it helps a little. BAD IDEA I know but what do I do Find a new career. Still have to go back to see what x-rays showed but I am wondering what to do about the injury settlement. We already settled the vehicle part. The damages were 00 to the vehicle totalling it. Considering the truck was worth 00.
All help from claim personal would be great!!!!!!!!!

I was in an auto accident where the other driver ran a stop sign. She was issued the ticket and declared at fault, I have a witness who has given a recorded statement to the insurance company to that fact and also on the report for the police. My two small children were in the car but the main impact was on my side and door. I went to the hospital as soon as I could after (when husband came home because my car was towed) Damages on car are 6,000.00 and so far it looks like med bills will be over 3000 easy. I have an MRI next week but we think it is a bulging or herniated disc in my back. I also had whiplash and head problems from head hitting window (nothing serious, but blurred vision and headaches). I have been out of work 3 wks already and can’t do much at home ( I am a homemaker by day and hair stylist by night and weekend) I can’t stand for long or even sit up for long. Anyone know what we can expect?
I am not looking to get rich but I am looking for what is fair. This was completely the other drivers fault and I have proof in the form of a witness and her ticket. My father is a lawyer but he doesn’t do this sort of case much anymore so he said he would refer me to someone if he thought we would be better off than with just the insurance company.
