I recently went to the E.R. for severe neck pain. They took several x-rays while I was there, in those they found that I have an extra vertebrae, and one vert, that could have split into two. What its doing is pushing the vert. in my neck out to the right, thus the pain. I really haven’t found much out and haven’t seen my regular dr. cz he moved outta state. If any one who reads this has similar information please give me all the details. My mom and brother both have the same pain, the same bulge in our necks which makes me think that it is genentic.

I have a beagle with a slipped disc in his lower back. I took him in for x-rays and medication. I just want to make sure the medication he is receiving is the right stuff. What are the most common types of dog medications for slipped discs and pain management.

Hi all. So after months of pain, plus nerve tests, x rays, etc – I got my MRI results back last week. I have 2 herniated discs in my lower back, and another bulging disc as well. Both herniated discs have arthritis in them, and one is pressing a nerve root.
I’m on pain meds right now, and the doctor has talked about doing the steroid (cortisone) injections in my back. I have heard good things and bad about those shots. Is it worth it? I also worry about being on meds the rest of my life, I’m 32 years old and in otherwise good shape. Not overweight, don’t smoke, rarely drink.
Help, someone?

1 part of my spine feels out of place after i messed it up 8 months ago. The x-rays come normal so its not a big shit, but its big enough that it feels abnormal and clearly wrong(1 vertebrate to the right). I have a pinched nerve in my leg, i can feel everything but there is still tingling, its not perfect like my left leg, this i have had for 4 weeks now. Is it possible to put the spine back in place and get 100% feeling back/remove tingling in right leg?
*not a big shift.

My daughter has been having back pain (21 months) and I took her her to the doctor. The pediatrician said that a vertebrae in her lower back doesnt feel right (like it is out of place) so I had x rays done today. Anyway, my question is: if there is something wrong with the vertebrae, what will they do other than surgery?

Does anyone know the most common causes of compression fractures of the cervical vertebrae? My mother was recently diagnosed with a compression fracture in her spinal cord at C7 (neck area).
She was Dx w/osteopenia 4 years ago, but hasn’t taken any steps to prevent further progression other than calcium supplements (and not routinely). She has a history of bone fractures, as she fractured her wrist about 2 years ago in a minor fall.
She has yearly mammograms and had lung X-rays taken last year as part of her annual physical. Everything was fine: no traces of cancer in either place. She is 64 y/o, caucasian, non-smoker, healthy and active, and other than having hypothyroidism, she has no other history of disease.
Her recent MRI did not reveal any type of tumor at the sight, however, they want to do further testing to make sure she doesn’t have a malignancy anywhere else in her body. Apparently many cancers can matastasize in the spine.
What are the chances this compression fracture is due to a lack of bone density and NOT to an unidentified malignancy elsewhere in the body?
Please sight any references, if possible.
Thanks for your help.

Ive had lower back pain for about 2 or 3 years now and Ive been to the ER several times and also had a couple x-rays and even an MRI and the doctor told me that one of my discs was slightly bulging, but he also said that the bulging disc should not be causing me as much pain as Im in, why do you think that is? A bulging disc just sounds painful

I went to the dentist 2 weeks ago, and when taking X-Rays, my dentist used a blue Anesthetic (not sure what the exact name of it was) to suppress my gag reflex. I was wondering if using to much could cause permanent nerve damage, or could I have some kind of allergic reaction to it that I dont know about? I have had a loss of flexibility in the left side of my lip since then. Could it be that, or maybe a pinched nerve? or maybe because my mouth was kept open for a long period of time from the cleaning, and my face muscles werent used to it?

i was rear end by another car and his insurance total my car and paid me the book value of the car.
i went to physical therapy for about four months. i took x-rays and mri. the mri shows that i have a dislocation in my lower back. but the insurance company has refused to settle me for my injury. my lawyer told me that i should consult another lawyer to sue the insurance company. some lawyers i met are not interested in the case. can i sue the insurance company myself? if so, how do i begin?

I was having surgery and while the they were administering the anestesia they messed up my jaw. Now I can only open my mouth half way and it looks like I’m going to have to have surgery to correct it. Do I have a case of medical malpractice? How do I choose a legit attorney to ask? Thanks!
Firstly, I am not an advocate of litigation, but I feel if this is going to cause me pain or inconvienience for the rest of my life then that is worth some compensation.
I’ve had X-rays and my oral surgeon has ordered an MRI for tomorrow, so I’ll find out then our next course of action. From the first maxofaciallary doctor I talked to (who said this was out of his area of expertise and couldn’t help me…referring me to my current dr) it seemed like this was going to take a lot of therapy and after that entail wearing a biteplate for months! This, along with the pain, make me think someone should be liable.

The accident was not my fault.. and we have not settled anything with the insurance company yet.. I was wondering if this happened to anyone else and if so what kind of compensation were you offered or did you get? I was not able to be treated for my injuries because of the fact that i am pregnant, and they could not do any kind of x-rays or anything.. any info is greatly welcomed

My lower back is killing me! I know I have one or more pinched nerves in my back. The pain continues down my leg. I don’t have health insurance, and can’t afford any programs through a ciropracter.
Thank you for your input. I went to a ciropracter to get x rays and they wanted me to pay 2,000 to fix my back. Is that expensive or is that just average?

What would happen if I had a stress fracture on the side of my foot and I kept playing on it? I play soccer and after practice two days ago the outside of my feet were killing me… I went to the doctor and got x-rays and they said they couldn’t determine it through those. They want to do a bone scan and I want to know if it was a stress fracture and I played on it what would happen? In short and long run.
